    Just ordered my 32 black penny board and I've never been able to skate in my life. Fingers crossed I can get myself balanced on the actual board and not get it to fly out from under me and fall on my ass.
    This video could not have been better timed though. I'll probably post an update once It arrives. Big thanks, well edited and explained and straight to the point. You're the man.

      @@tpalmer OK. So the board arrived and I only really had around half an hour to start practising. I've been trying to figure out my foot placement on flat ground, and I've had the board go out from under me after scooting around.
      I've noticed quite a bit of tilt and I think I need to work on my balance in general and actually finding the comfortable spot on the board.

    Do not stop as in method 2, this is ridiculous! You risk tipping over backwards and damage the delicate plastic board, it is durable but not for friction. The real second method is to transfer your weight to the leg that stands in front on the board, and with the other leg gently place the leg on the ground, pressing harder and harder until you stop.

    When u learned how to balance. U can learn how to stop safely by placing(grind) your left foot on the ground slowly till it stops the board and your right foot on the board to keep you balance. i use this method all the time going downhill or in the city. Jumping out on your board when going down hill sounds little scary, Lol. Well this might cost damage to your shoes but welcome to skateboarding.

    • @tpalmer
      @tpalmer  3 года назад +1

      If it’s a legit Penny Brand board. Then I’d say it’s your feet but that’ll just come down to practice. Practice learning how to grip the board with your feet and really using your leg strength to hold on the board when you turn

    • @tpalmer

      I mean, i'm not sure how they come but I do know that you can just get a wrench/skatetool/ socket wrench and tighten down the bushing, which will increase or decrease the amount it can turn
