  • Aprilia SR 50 liquid cooled scooter was hard to start, so I have removed and cleaned the carb and the air filter, changed the main jet, removed the plate in the carb intake and checked the electric choke.
    Aprilia SR 50 vízhűtéses robogó nehezen indult, karburátor és légszűrő tisztítás, főfúvóka csere, kiszereltem a folytólemezt a porlasztóból és ellenőriztem a hidegindítót.

    Thank you for this video. I have the same scooter and it runs perfectly but has a very hard time starting. I takes 10-15 seconds of electric start cranking to start with full throttle, doesnt start if the throttle is not all the way. Any ideas why?

      Hello, it should easy start without gas when the engine is cold and the choke works good. If you had to give a full gas at cold, that means, that the engine receives too much gasoline, and with the opened throttle you give more air. It could be a worn needle jet. When the engine is running, you do not notice a leaking needle walve, only when the engine is stopped, a few gasoline could leak into the engine.

      Thank you that makes sense. Do you know how to check if the needle jet is worn? Yes when i start the scooter the engine runs pretty well but the cold start is very hard. Maybe i can change the position of the needle jet let more air in? I was thinking to check and adjust valve space but not sure if that will help.

      Sorry I was wrong, not the needle jet, the needle valve! With the damaged needle valve can get the engine too much fuel. You can see dismounting the needle valve at 04:00 in the video.

      Hello, I suggest the 0.75 first, after running check the spark plug (black / brown / white), if it is brown and the engine runs well with full gas it is okay.

      Hello, not connected anywhere, just being under the bottom cover, other side is open. There comes the air in to the airbox.

    Hello I am French , I would like to know where the carburetor tank rod (the one at the bottom of the carburetor)

    • @latzkoworks
      @latzkoworks  Год назад

      Hello, the pipe on the bottom of the carburetor leads out the too much fuel to the air.

  • @mirooo94

    Also i saw you went from 53 to 65 is that because it was running lean? Or due to starting issues?

    • @latzkoworks
      @latzkoworks  Год назад +1

      There was a metal plate in the carb intake, if you take it out, you should increase the main jet.

    • @mirooo94
      @mirooo94 Год назад

      That makes sense! Does it mean you will waste more gas and fill up gas more frequently or is it so small of a change that you wont notice a difference with fuel efficiency?

    • @latzkoworks
      @latzkoworks  Год назад +1

      If you take out that metal plate, the carb'll get more gas. The more gas needs more fuel, so should increase the main jet.

      Have you checked the spark, and the compression in the cylinder?

    Hey! Does taking the carburator lid off make changes to the top speed or overall just performance?

    • @latzkoworks
      @latzkoworks  Месяц назад +1

      Hello, with more air + more gas the engine'll be stronger, so yes, the top speed'll increase.

    • @Mokibulla
      @Mokibulla Месяц назад +1

      @@latzkoworks okay, is the carb going to automatically adjust the air/gas ratio that it doesnt get too much air?

    • @latzkoworks
      @latzkoworks  Месяц назад

      @@Mokibulla you must replace the main jet in an opened carburetor to at least a 0.65mm innear diameter one.

      @@latzkoworks ohh okay, thanks for the tips. Last question, does ”atleast mean, that i could go bigger and it wouldnt have any problems? Or do you only suggest something around 65?
