  • In Episode 58 of ‘Cars, Shops & Collections' we meet Doug, a lifelong MOPAR enthusiast who has just been reunited with his beloved 1972 Charger SE after 30 long years apart!
    Doug shares the amazing story of how he bought the Charger in 1978 and sold the car in 1993, but never forgot about it and always dreamed of owning it again. Fast forward to 2023, and with some determination he was able to track down the car and buy it back from the current owner.
    Doug takes us on a journey through the history of the car and shares some of the memories and experiences he had with it over the years. PLUS we get an up-close look at the exterior and interior of the Charger, as well as a look under the hood to see the power that Doug added to his Dodge.
    BONUS CARS! We see the 1970 ‘Cuda that Doug is restoring and his Drag Car - A 1971 Dodge Demon!
    Doug is an expert in MOPARS and knowledge shines through in this episode!

    Nice cars. The first one, the green one, is a neat mix of parts and style.

    I'm pretty sure I told you this before, but I had a 1972 Charger with a 440 Magnum. The seats were white and it had the same slap-shift shifter as the one in the video. It had a factory 8 track player, pedestal mounted in front of the center consul. I put headers on it and Appliance wire mags. G60-14's on the back. It was white with a black bubble hood with red and chrome "440 Magnum" on both sides of the black bubble. I had a lot of fun in that car. Thanks JC!

    It's an SE RT Rallye lol. I understand making a car your own but I would remove the R/T badging and hood decal. YOu have to keep explaining yourself and the car all the time.

      They do the same thing on modern mopars but nobody wants an RT they actually remove the rt badge off the scat packs and add SRT. Things don’t change haha

    No such thing as a SE R/T and of course 340 "Cross Ram" is another modification... not factory! The fender tag would clarify a LOT.

    So it's not an R/T , he knew the guy the entire time , big deal . He probably gave the guy peanuts to get it back .

    • @01trsmar
      @01trsmar Год назад +2

      Not an R/T as 1972 the R/T was replaced by Rallye...
      The Rallye did have the 1971 style R/T hood and doors..The S.E as this could have been ordered with the mighty 440 or 400 high performance,slap stik shifter,150 mph speedo,tach,duel exhaust with machine gun tips..So R/T or Rallye mean really nothing except stripe and sticker package as all the same options could be ordered on the S.E..
      As for him finding the car,well like you said he knew the guys since 1993 its not like not knowing where the car was and then tracking it down years later...It's like my buddy,I sold him a 72 Cuda in 1997 and he still owns it..I drove that car for 3 years,restored it so not a big deal to track it down lol
