They're actually kinda horrible for drag racing. They destroy $30,000 built transmissions like they're T5's. Watch a high power R35 at a drag strip. They bounce hard af when they launch. Basically they launch and have to pull power our to shift to second
MrZyLeXx there’s a difference from brute force long it and they working smoothly. Watch one launch in slow motion. They bounce, the launch and instantly rip all the power out to shift into second. If you could put a th400 and a solid rear axle they’d rip. So T1 did that but I think they used a lenko. First pass out it went low 7s. They’re heavy relatively when stripped down. Maybe they’re not horrible but they definitely aren’t good and my god they’re ungodly expensive to run the numbers they do.

I bet the reason it beeps when your in Reverse it so that you know you’re in reverse like if you were trying to put the car in drive and accidentally put it in reverse that’s how you know the difference and don’t accidentally backed up instead of going forward or something stupid like that

Its funny hearing you say this as my old 03, G35 has that annoying useless beeping when you reverse too. You would think Nissan would get rid of it as its only audible from the inside of the car. Also the G35 has the squeakiest breaks too. You would think that from 2003 to 2014 Nissan would know how to get rid of it. On the heat warmers... I've had other cars where the warmers are on the centre console and I still forget that they turned on, and for a laugh, my friends would turn them on when I'm not looking and burn my bum and back on a summers day.... So don't feel bad on that one. What about the ride as a daily,... Is it too crashy?

Drivetrain noises are all normal for the car. You can hear the transmission shift and the axles make noise at slow speed when turning. I got used to it over time lol
I have a Tesla MS and a Nissan e-nv200 now so no Gtr yet but honestly i have shifted my focus on a 991.1 GT3 instead so i will comeback within 3 years again when i get that ;)) @@ClosingSoon5

It is super annoying even 4 years later with the car. Luckily its only a short time in R. I never did disable it, but from what Ive seen its a lot of work and several hundred $$
Sept 15 2021 Prices are going up hard to find any less than $90,000 no matter the year. Makes this practically a free to own car because depreciation is non existance.

My only problem with gtr is the interior everything in that thing looks so cheap even the gauges look outdated compared to companies like dodge, Chevy etc. I know people buy it for the power but at least make the interior look good like the hellcats, zl1 , z06

At this point, you're looking at it lol. But at the time I bought the GTR, and filmed this video, I was a marketing/inventory manager at a car dealership. RUclips was my side business to help justify actually buying this car. But now I've been doing RUclips full time for a year and a half, and have branched out and we run our own marketing company and help local companies.

@@moregainsmoreveins5267 They seem to be holding steady. I bought mine over two years ago for $67k. Even with the current mileage, it's worth about $65k. And there aren't too many out there that are actually in good shape. So it's really hard to find a good one in my opinion. I think they'll continue to hold values very well. In a few years I may trade for a 2017, as of now, those are still in the $80k range.

Kingpin Gamer223 Mechanical issues, wear and tear, dents, chips, rips. Worn out parts or missing bolts and under panels. I worked at a car dealership and we’d get cars that came in like that. I always passed on them since they would end up being headaches. If a certified shop passes it as mechanically sound and visually it’s good. And has regular servicing under its belt. That mileage is no problem. Pretty reliable car.

The GTR AWD system is on oof the best ones out there. And with snow tires this car is amazing in snow. So this is a kind of vehicle that could be used for that type of driving. Same with an R8

Obviously I don't take it off road. But a lot of owners have snow tires on these and use them in the winter, and they perform amazing! When did I actually say I'd take this thing off roading?
The original big block (427?) Mustang Mach 1's had a buzzer AND a dash light to warn you if you were in reverse. Because if you accidentally were in reverse, thinking you were in first, and did a burn out? That would be a VERY bad thing.
It's funny you mention the brake noise. I just finished getting my R32 GTR legal here in California and the one thing it does that bothers me is the brakes make a squeek noise as well. I thought I had a bad set of pads, but the local techs I have spoken with who work on and own R32s say that is just what they do. Looks like it is something Nissan kept as part of the heritage lol
Ah well damn. Just a heads up if you ever decide to get an older one, those sounds will come back then. I'll have to dig around for maybe a pad no one locally has checked. Glad you got it squared on yours though, and it's a beautiful ride.
But the key feature is this car will destroy $300,000 cars around a racetrack. Thats the cool thing. The GTR has supercar performance, but its priced with normal sportscars. The shared parts also make repairs and ownership costs super cheap. I've owned this now for over 2 years, and it's never had an issue.

Vash Sant Yeah good point. But every car company does that. McLaren is the only one that is bespoke. And those cost and arm and a leg to repair. Rolls Royce had BMW parts scattered in it. Lamborghinis have Audi parts in it. Ford GT has the same buttons and screen as an Escape. So it’s just how everyone does it to cut costs. And Ford said they like having all their cars with Ford parts in them so they look part of the family
Ha reverse beep... I don't have that on mine. Strange... is that factory standard? The clunking as well, I don't hear that as loud on mine either, but it sounded like a Ducati transmission tho, dry clutchpack, ok the squeak yes it sounds like a schoolbus so I change my pads and it doesn't squeak anymore. I have the 15BE btw. Great video as always.
Quit complaining about your GTR only folks out here would drool to actually own one. I hate spoiled ppl bitchin about what they own why not just sell it and get another car problem solved.
This is just to show some things that aren't perfect from daily driving it. Not every car is going to be completely perfect, but it doesn't mean I hate the car. This has been an absolute blast to own. Don't take it too seriously.
got 11 Gtr., reverses bit, kit plug and play exist, clunky noise everyone know about it since the 09 model, many people comment about this, brake noise not commun, mine doesn't make noise, friend GTR's doesn't make any noise either.
Same color, probably the same year (edited: 2016 vice 2014). The only thing that weirded me out was the low-speed transmission noises. I've had a couple of cars over 500 HP, but didn't expect that until I slogged through the owner's manual. Also, I hate driving it long distances, super uncomfortable (especially Seattle where I live near). Great job!
Definitely go used to save some money. My car was $105k brand new. I bought it 4 years old with 24k miles on it for $67k. 1 owner, perfect maintenance history and clean carfax.
The GT-R doesn't have a torque converter. The bell housing just makes some rattle noises. The transmission is literally designed for high performance driving. So all slow speed stuff is slightly compromised.
Holy cow and to think I wanted one lol but all seriousness yes I understand the performance side for making the noises. However I don't care about the new gtr. To me it lost character.. your and little newer and little older are beautiful machines

id compare the transmission with the audi r8 2008 r tronic.
Those aren’t the same though, the gtr is a dual clutch, the r8 r tronic was a single, very sluggish and not like the gtr at all!

If you drive a Nissan GTR in the winter you're either going to wipe it out or the salt is going to rush the vehicle
Winter doesn't exactly mean snow here in NC lol. We get 2 days of snow each year. So my car doesn't encounter salt ever

My only problem with gtr is the interior everything in that thing looks so cheap even the gauges look outdated compared to companies like dodge, Chevy etc. I know people buy it for the power but at least make the interior look good like the hellcats, zl1 , z06

Have you heard people talk about - Annahiy Stockify Sabinianus - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my partner got cool success with it.
Race cars have noisy Drivetrains. My Skyline GTRs entire transmission is very noisy cuz of lighter internals

At this point, you're looking at it lol. But at the time I bought the GTR, and filmed this video, I was a marketing/inventory manager at a car dealership. RUclips was my side business to help justify actually buying this car. But now I've been doing RUclips full time for a year and a half, and have branched out and we run our own marketing company and help local companies.

@@moregainsmoreveins5267 They seem to be holding steady. I bought mine over two years ago for $67k. Even with the current mileage, it's worth about $65k. And there aren't too many out there that are actually in good shape. So it's really hard to find a good one in my opinion. I think they'll continue to hold values very well. In a few years I may trade for a 2017, as of now, those are still in the $80k range.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed what would you consider bad shape? Like high mileage? Would a 2012 gtr 47k miles for 47k be a good deal? It's a red color, looks clean and good! I just want to make sure what's a good milage and price for when I get one lol, thanks for all the feedback
Kingpin Gamer223 Mechanical issues, wear and tear, dents, chips, rips. Worn out parts or missing bolts and under panels. I worked at a car dealership and we’d get cars that came in like that. I always passed on them since they would end up being headaches. If a certified shop passes it as mechanically sound and visually it’s good. And has regular servicing under its belt. That mileage is no problem. Pretty reliable car.

The GTR AWD system is on oof the best ones out there. And with snow tires this car is amazing in snow. So this is a kind of vehicle that could be used for that type of driving. Same with an R8

@@Mosesmetkrikke lol dude. Sometimes you need to lighten up ;) If you watch my channel I drive this car with the utmost care. It's been bullitt proof reliable and I've maintained it perfectly. Obviously I don't take it off road. But a lot of owners have snow tires on these and use them in the winter, and they perform amazing! When did I actually say I'd take this thing off roading?

Heated Seat buttons in my 2015 Z Roadster are on center console. Perfect. Looks like Gtr buttons are after thought

My biggest gripe on mine is that it’s so damn uncomfortable. But I do not daily drive it, so I can live with it. I will be upgrading the seats soon.

The original big block (427?) Mustang Mach 1's had a buzzer AND a dash light to warn you if you were in reverse. Because if you accidentally were in reverse, thinking you were in first, and did a burn out? That would be a VERY bad thing.
Street brakes need to work cold. Track/performance brakes are made to work red hot. Any compromise is mediocre, and worse when hot.

It's funny you mention the brake noise. I just finished getting my R32 GTR legal here in California and the one thing it does that bothers me is the brakes make a squeek noise as well. I thought I had a bad set of pads, but the local techs I have spoken with who work on and own R32s say that is just what they do. Looks like it is something Nissan kept as part of the heritage lol
I ended up replacing my pads with a more conservative pad. So the noises are all gone lol
Ah well damn. Just a heads up if you ever decide to get an older one, those sounds will come back then. I'll have to dig around for maybe a pad no one locally has checked.

I just hate the garbage interior. Shares the same parts with a Versa/Tiida.
But the key feature is this car will destroy $300,000 cars around a racetrack. Thats the cool thing. The GTR has supercar performance, but its priced with normal sportscars. The shared parts also make repairs and ownership costs super cheap. I've owned this now for over 2 years, and it's never had an issue.

Vash Sant Yeah good point. But every car company does that. McLaren is the only one that is bespoke. And those cost and arm and a leg to repair. Rolls Royce had BMW parts scattered in it. Lamborghinis have Audi parts in it. Ford GT has the same buttons and screen as an Escape. So it’s just how everyone does it to cut costs. And Ford said they like having all their cars with Ford parts in them so they look part of the family

GTR sucks tbh, maintaining the car is a pain in the ass.costs pile up so quickly that its almost the price of a new gtr.i say go for the hellcat.

Ha reverse beep... I don't have that on mine. Strange... is that factory standard? The clunking as well, I don't hear that as loud on mine either, but it sounded like a Ducati transmission tho, dry clutchpack, ok the squeak yes it sounds like a schoolbus so I change my pads and it doesn't squeak anymore. I have the 15BE btw. Great video as always.
Quit complaining about your GTR only folks out here would drool to actually own one. I hate spoiled ppl bitchin about what they own why not just sell it and get another car problem solved.
This is just to show some things that aren't perfect from daily driving it. Not every car is going to be completely perfect, but it doesn't mean I hate the car. This has been an absolute blast to own. Don't take it too seriously.
got 11 Gtr., reverses bit, kit plug and play exist, clunky noise everyone know about it since the 09 model, many people comment about this, brake noise not commun, mine doesn't make noise, friend GTR's doesn't make any noise either.

Same color, probably the same year (edited: 2016 vice 2014). The only thing that weirded me out was the low-speed transmission noises. I've had a couple of cars over 500 HP, but didn't expect that until I slogged through the owner's manual. Also, I hate driving it long distances, super uncomfortable (especially Seattle where I live near). Great job!
Interesting video. A few dislikes but it's still an impressive car and the interior is gorgeous (heated seat buttons location aside) :-)

Would you recommend buying a brand new GTR or certified preowned? Or just any used GTR?
Definitely go used to save some money. My car was $105k brand new. I bought it 4 years old with 24k miles on it for $67k. 1 owner, perfect maintenance history and clean carfax.
If your leather has tear just go to a custom leather seat shop and let them make a leather seat for u
The drive train noise is probably your torque converter, does it make a whine while driving or slowing down?
The GT-R doesn't have a torque converter. The bell housing just makes some rattle noises. The transmission is literally designed for high performance driving. So all slow speed stuff is slightly compromised.
Holy cow and to think I wanted one lol but all seriousness yes I understand the performance side for making the noises. However I don't care about the new gtr. To me it lost character.. your and little newer and little older are beautiful machines
