Agree. IMO it makes sense to place Stars right before the 9-year-jump instead of after the robbery scene later. I think it illustrates better Javert's duty to the law and how he never forgets about his duty to recapture Valjean and see him behind bars during the entire time Valjean was on the run.
Yeah I REALLY wish it was added to the actual show. Although it wouldnt really work coming off of The Bargain, so it would have to be reordered I guess. But honestly, I kinda liked the movies ordering. Makes sense for IDAD to be after the docks, and Stars honestly works just as well after the confrontation or the robbery. Arguably better after confrontation, because he KNEW it was Valjean then. He only suspected it was valjean in paris
At the beggining, the prisoners sang this song to themself to remain surpressed. Yet at this scene here, the beggars who sang this song demand that the people above to look down and see their misery.
😍 I remember watching this scene for the first time, and I freaked out in excitement over they actually placed the elephant statue from the books in that movie! I've seen many movie and tv adaptions of Les Mis, and that movie is one of the closest to the original story!
I love the detail that “At the end of the day” and the first “look down” are kind of subdued whereas here the tension of poverty and the revolution now has the people *screaming* “LOOK DOWN! LOOK DOWN!”
I've got just under 200 pages to go and this is my favorite song so this really is a great motivator to do that and just get in the fighting spirit in general. I'm so ready to finish the brick so I can rewatch the movie and since I have plenty of time before I see Les Mis live next month IM READY
+Matthew Coullace I can assure you that most people found it quite ridiculous in France too... But I'll say that in France one of our basic principles is "when you're angry about something it's better to go and march in the streets with thousands of people who are angry about the same thing than to stay at home and do nothing about it". Sometimes it goes to far, like for the Bac last year, but most of the times it's good to know what are your rights and to be ready to fight for them. It did us good in the past =).

French have the awareness to fight for their deserved right before one hundred more years, but most of Chinese still dont have the awareness. It is so deplorable
Where on earth did that come from? I haven't been there, but I presume the majority of Chinese people aren't starving and dying of preventable diseases whilst the aristo class feasts all day long. I get that freedoms are curbed, but mass revolt only happens when an honourable death becomes preferable living.
+sherleigh221 in china, your property and life do not have any guarantee. Although, major people can eat enough, but you can be caught by government in any time and any place.

Seriously the thing I love about Les Mis 2012 the most is probably the transition from Stars to Paris it's just so well made.
Are you Clara, Amy, or Rory?
Dude it’s soooo beautiful

Seriously. I get chills with this transition.

that transition from gavroche to les amis with him being picked up by courfeyrac,, fuck it's so good
At the beggining, the prisoners sang this song to themself to remain surpressed. Yet at this scene here, the beggars who sang this song demand that the people above to look down and see their misery.
Yes I noticed that too! This time they’re SCREAMING it
Having listened to the original broadway soundtrack so much I've practically memorized it I have to say that the extra lines by gavroche are jarring.
Courfeyrac carrying Gavroche on his shoulders...my heart
"here's a thing about equality, everbody is equal when they're dead" and a kid is saying that man

Whoo! This gave me the boost I needed to get back to tackling the Brick. Eleven hundred more pages to go.
I finished it :3 really good book isn't it? (If you are talking about the Less Misérables book)
Same here. I have a very important presentation to finish. This gets me in the fighting spirit:D

You must be one of the lucky ones to have found an unabridged copy. My copy only has 800 pages
@@DavidbarZeus1 I recommend the Signet Classics’ version!!!! It’s unabridged and so far it’s the least expensive copy I own
That opening 25 seconds! Oh my word!
Man, and to think this took place during the time where there are lots of starving innocents😦
I love this movie
History repeats itself in the streets of Paris 2020

The June Rebellion.
Kathryn Fitzpatrick To be fair, there were a bazillion French Revolutions. Very revolutionary people, the French.

It looks cool here but Revolution is hard, bloody, long work. You lose friends, neighbors, family. It’s a truly dire situation

Which palace is that?
the transition was so cool but goddamn it really ruined the emotional impact of stars
why did they change Gavroche's second verse?
hazel ventura It's better than the musical version, imo.
Rohail Sheikh I get your point, the meaning it's better but in my opinion very bad written
