Thank you for this video. I just got a new 2019 Tundra TRD Pro and just bought the air flow accelerator and the TRD panel filter. I decided to go with the poor man's intake setup
Another great video. Also I appreciate the warm welcome on the forum. Keep up the great work, these videos are instructional and informative which is what makes them great!
The modern Tundra has 72 computers and 131 sensors, did you NOT pay attention to the mass airflow sensor? The electrical connection??? Anytime you have to pull a wire or a electrical connection it is good habit to disconnect the vehicles main battery
Good video but TRD CAI and all the others are snake oil. Toyota wants $360 for red intake parts and a new filter that will void their warranty. If you ever take it to dealer put the OEM filter back in.
Yeah I wasn't expect it to go in that far either. I checked the picture on the installation guide and it's about the same so I think we are good. Thanks for the feed back.
Old fred sure likes the look, but the price ! man o man is that son of a gun high priced. Them marketing fellas don't believe in high volume sales. Any issues with whistling ?
I did it the simple way. Changed the air filter to a K & N air filter. Actually doing the same thing , just not channging the air box. There is actually no difference.
Unless you're just going for the "look factor" these Cai are a complete waste of $$$. They won't give your truck/car any hp gains. It's all smoke and mirrors! Matter of fact, in some cases the added Cai takes hp away.
you guys keep wasting money on a cold air intake system and you already have the same box on the truck the only difference is the looks and the air filter you are pulling a plastic box off just to add a plastic box back on and not to mention you are grabbing air from the same place the factory does in the finder just change the air filter to a high flow filter and save yourself $400 or waste money on looks
Michael Pacetti I agree it’s great eye candy but are there any legitimate studies about hp and mpg? I can understand why Toyota would do this; the TRD gives more value (actual and/or perceived).
I have to say , in my opinion that appears to be a mod that's a waste of money. Iwhat is the benefit of it other than eye candy, and at that it is ugly looking . Those big trd letters and the red color looks horrible, just my opinion. Thanks for installing it on your vehicle , now I know not to put it in my truck. Lol.
Surprised he was able to do this seeing lives in Comufornia.
Great video, watched this about 5 times and finished in under an hour...running great. Thanks, keep up the good work. :)
Thank you!
So feel any difference in performance? Sound?

Thanks, Kyle. I'm looking forward to see your future mods. :-) Once you get started it's hard to stop.
Man of course I cracked mine after you warned us to user a bigger flat head lol.
did it make a big difference, wanted to get your feedback prior to buying. Thanks
Not really. I did it because it looks cool.
@@NK1794 thank you
just installed one on my scion xb
I wonder if this can also fit for the other 5.7 Toyota, like 2018 land cruiser....
It might fit the Land Cruiser but check with the dealership to make sure.
Why disconnect the battery first?

I'm from California, have you had any problems passing the smog check?
do you work for tesla??
yes, sir

Is TRD cold intake aprove by C.A.R.B.
California Air Resource Board ? and why there’s no sticker from C.A.R.B. ?
What are your thoughts on removing the charcoal air filter, located inside the top of the air intake box???
Wouldn’t this have been a good time to clean the MAF and the throttle intake?
Riduan Dunia If you have a lot of miles.
Hen you installed the air flow accelerator how far did you push into the wall? Did you go past the rubber ring or right to it
Hi,
It goes passed the ring so the ring ended up inside the fender otherwise the screws and the holes won't line up. I hope that helps.
NK1794 it does I installed mine about a week ago and same it went past the ring just wanted to make sure I didn’t receive wrong accelerator
Thanks

Does that air filter really help or just for look
I didnt notice any performance and MPG improvement but I wasn’t expecting much. I mainly did it because it looks cool.

Creative in installation.
Greetings to you .
Thanks for watching
thank you!!!! your a great teacher
Thank you
Am I missing something? What's the purpose of an oil catch can on a gas engine?
It's not required but a nice to have. This video explained it very well.

I’m going with the s&b gt momentum on my lx570
Wish you would have started it so we could listen to it.
It not any louder than stock.
NK1794 How is the performance difference between the stock vs the new one?
I didn’t feel any difference until I upgraded the exhaust to TRD.
NK1794 Cool I’m still considering doing the same upgrades for my Tundra. It’s a 2014 limited trd. Great video by the way👍
Go for it. Let me know how it goes. Thanks for the feedback.
What's the Part number?
do you work at tells or just love that company lol lol great videos I'm learning a lot to do on my tundra
Danny Building Get busy! LOL
Send me your TRD hose if you're not using it. I'll paid for shipping and so changed
MengeR Sorry, Im keeping the hose. Thanks for watching.

gimmic
If it provide additional HP or performance, it would have came from the factory that way. Especially being an Toyota oem part
Bruda,
I would hate to be your girl. Putting in your tube into the fitting with 'No Lube"
Ouch!
LOL. A little friction makes it more fun.
Nice shirt!
Thanks. :-)
Nice!

It's not a waste if that's what someone wants to buy for their truck. To each his (or her) own!
Agreed 100%
