“I have to give credit to Dave jerden “. First thing outta this humble man’s mouth. I guess I’d be super disappointed if he was still a 50 year old narcissist… but, nice to know one of my favorite musicians ever also rolls with my favorite personality trait - humility.
The list of buddies who either overdosed or took their own life, Cantrell and Lanegan is a rare specimen in today's world, kinda like a animal on the endangered species list...
This man is passionate at his art and not driven by ego. The talent and the natural intellect he has cannot be taught, and in no way is superficial. I truly hope Jerry's heart realizes this.
Jerry is one of the coolest dudes. Just exudes coolness. And what a guitarist/songwriter/singer too. And let’s be honest here, we’d all love to have a laugh like his!
There Have Been loads of legendary amp makers whether it be builders or just a person who can mod something already existing. Fender combos to Dumble and those old train wrecks to Marshalls and modded Marshalls as well as Hiwatt. Then Soldano, Bogner and Fuchs. But I don't think anyone has done what Friedman has done. I think Metro makes the best replicas of vintage Marshalls, but Friedman may be the best circuit builder the amp world has seen. He can nail mods like no one yet he can throw together his own new stuff as well. Like the Tesla of guitar amps really. I've played so many of them and they just deliver like nothing I've hooked up too. I've found great sounding Marshall heads over the years and I have a Bogner I wouldn't sell for any amount of money. But the Friedmans I have and have tested are like nothing I've ever heard. Legendary stuff
I notice only Jerry interviews these days and keeping in mind we haven’t-heard much from Sean, the other guys, in years, it would be nice to hear from them as well, occasionally 😊
L H in case you have not seen this interview with Kinney from August 2018: ruclips.net/video/Tcy_DWUXo2I/видео.html , since I do this never, in case the link did not transfer correctly it was uploaded by superreporter1971 and titled: "Alice In Chains Drummer Sean Kinney On New Album "Rainier Fog" 8-24-2018." Also given his presumed profession"superreporter", he could point you to others. Cantrell seems to have remained the spokesman for the band all these years, so it is easier to come up with his, but there are interviews with the others available, especially currently with AIC's Rainier Fog album release in August 2018.
It's a really testament to how good of a guy Dave Friedman is that he makes these amazing amps and rigs for top players, but still helps the everyday guy try to get his sound. Dave Friedman is a class act and his amps sound great.
Well congrats to him, cause I love and support all our brave men in uniform, especially the 'Nam vets, cause they got a raw deal and a half, but yeah I salute and thank him and all his friends, and the other guys who were the true heroes in 'Nam for their service.
I never noticed the way he laughed until y’all brought it to my attention he does that no harm it is kinda woodpecker sounding No harm The Riff Lord we still love ya Jerry ❤️🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
This is music to my ears, the way they discuss the tone and the rig is inspiring. So much knowledge, skills, and passion went into this whole project ! Great upload, cheers from Morocco
There's a great video out there about Mike Inez and his Warwick basses, and how when he started with Ozzy, Ozzy right off the bat bought him his first "concert" bass. And while Mike talks over the video, the video itself is the most fascinating - it shows how they actually put the end product together: the painting, the edging, the stringing, adding the frets, drilling & screwing all the special bits & bobs into the neck and head...really quite interesting!
The sound of Rock, and all genres of music, change when some genius gets an idea to change to tools we choose tp perform with. Les Paul, Leo Fender, Seymore Duncan, Paul Reed Smith, Mr. Jackson, Bogner, Dave Friedman, and all to many others to name. All changed the scape of modern music, at one time or another, by putting their inventions into the right hands.
sorry to butt in but if y'all keep getting comments from 'Scarlett ASMR', report her, she's a nut who thinks she's secretly married/engaged to Jerry.... she comments on every damn Alice/Cantrell related video on RUclips and goes after the women with nasty comments. Seriously. She's like herpes, she just won't let up. Have a good one and ignore the fools!
E Stark they are. They've toured a couple of times and Mastodon are all fans of AIC. Bill finally asked Jerry how he was able to get the sound. The Mastodon guys even appear in the AIC23 video
Jerry is reminding me of the Mad Scientist from Independence Day. When they take the president to area 51 and he foes around showing them all the " neet stuff." He even shares the hair and facial hair as well as the laugh. Classic.
I didn't know Jerry was Data from Star Trek TNG, cause that's who played that guy in Independence Day, I know it wasn't Jerry, I'm just bein' a wise ass.
JJ without a doubt. In my experience, BEs are great, but not that great for the price. A modded Marshall 1959 sounds better than a BE for a lot less money
I wanted the JJ but got the BE-50 due to the versatility. I'm happy with the available gain on the HBE channel. But the JJ demo video was what turned me on to Friedman amps.
It's a really testament to how good of a guy Dave Friedman is that he makes these amazing amps and rigs for top players, but still helps the everyday guy try to get his sound. Dave Friedman is a class act and his amps sound great.
God I love Jerry’s laugh, he is the complete opposite of narcissistic rock star, he puts everyone around him at ease. Salt of the earth dude👍

Yeah he’s had the same laugh since he was young. You can tell his laugh from a mile away
watch when Jerry laughs 3:17, his face is totally still, just open mouth and not a muscle moves hahahahaha, love the guy
Jerry may be the coolest person ever. His 15-minute guitar lesson on RUclips is also worth watching.
Cantrell has lost so many friends. He seems like such a classy guy. Great, great tone.
The list of buddies who either overdosed or took their own life, Cantrell and Lanegan is a rare specimen in today's world, kinda like a animal on the endangered species list...
I just watch AIC interviews to hear/see Jerry laugh
LOL
It is nice
Makes me laugh too
Same
Its kinda scary at the same time
I know the laugh Is perfect 😄
Jerry is so humble

It is true.. I don't know of anyone layering guitars and sounds together like Cantrell. He blends acoustic into electric like no other
Jerry's the man - I dig everything he does
hahahahhaahahahahhaha (Cantrell, Jerry, 2018)
Jerry's simply the BEST!!
jerry`s laugh is so cool
Jerry is an amazing human.
How nice to watch good people talking about great gear and sound. LOVED it!!!

Love this man...so humble and pure.
Being a musician, Jerry is my favorite musician of all time. That dude inspires me to keep jamming forever! ❤
Jerry's laugh 💜
Saw them last night in New Orleans, one word “massive” best live tone I’ve ever heard.
Definitely a wah set at a single point on overdubs to thicken the mids on dirt. Very impressed by Mr. Friedman, guy knows his stuff.
Nice to watch 3 smart guys talking.
I notice only Jerry interviews these days and keeping in mind we haven’t-heard much from Sean, the other guys, in years, it would be nice to hear from them as well, occasionally 😊

@@marikka9347 also this is about Jerry Cantrell 's amplifier that he is spokesperson for mot an AIC interview

Jerry looks and laughs so much like my uncle. He even has the same personality. My uncle is an Army Vietnam veteran like Jerry's father.
Well congrats to him, cause I love and support all our brave men in uniform, especially the 'Nam vets, cause they got a raw deal and a half, but yeah I salute and thank him and all his friends, and the other guys who were the true heroes in 'Nam for their service.
Three legends in the same room

Nick Bowcott You the Man , I'm still Rocking to Grim Reaper .
This is music to my ears, the way they discuss the tone and the rig is inspiring. So much knowledge, skills, and passion went into this whole project ! Great upload, cheers from Morocco
jerry`s look at 0:10. darkness&sorrow.
The JJ-100 is the best piece of gear I ever bought. No more amp GAS.

A colab of 2 legends!!!!!
When Jerry WhatsApps you back "lol" you don't know whether to be scared.
Always been a huge fan of him and the guitar tone. I can remember hearing Facelift and Dirt for the first time and I was hooked!,
Two geniuses!
These are cool to watch.....guys who know their shit discussing their craft.

Ahh that voice❤️🔥
love mr Jerry Cantrell
😁👍
Awe Jerry.. I've had a crush on you forever!! Just sayin'!
Scarlett's ASMR , and what's the point of your comment?
Heyman Heyguys Thank you!!
Melanie Coleman Me too! I have been in love with him since I was 13! I'll still marry him!
Rockart9 Lol.. you and me both!!
sorry to butt in but if y'all keep getting comments from 'Scarlett ASMR', report her, she's a nut who thinks she's secretly married/engaged to Jerry.... she comments on every damn Alice/Cantrell related video on RUclips and goes after the women with nasty comments. I really hope Dave looses some weight and gets healthy to stay with us for years to come. He is a genuine guy and a national treasure.
Friedman and JC is legend
Speaking of Bill Kelliher, I feel like he and Jerry could be great friends. They seem really similar
Jerry gifted Bill a JJ amp. After that Bill worked with Dave Friedman and now has his own signature amp Friedman Butterslax.
E Stark they are. They've toured a couple of times and Mastodon are all fans of AIC. Bill finally asked Jerry how he was able to get the sound. The Mastodon guys even appear in the AIC23 video
If their was also a loved it instead of a like for RUclips videos, I would have done that ! Jerry Cantrell is one of my guitar inspirations..
dave is a electronics genius
Thanks, this is such a good interview....it's like we know these dudes..😶...we do now...so cool.
The only thing better than the tone of Jerry's rig is the tone of his cackle.
I love this guy.
jerry wrote all those good songs 1 after another it's like he didn't even have to try
King Jerry 🙌
Jerry is reminding me of the Mad Scientist from Independence Day. When they take the president to area 51 and he foes around showing them all the " neet stuff." He even shares the hair and facial hair as well as the laugh. Classic.

Friedman amps second to none
Of course, none is first.
Second to nothing, I.e second to no-thing. Only your imagination can potentially be better if you can actualize it
Then the empty space is first. As simple as that.
I would love to hang out with Jerry for 24 hours. What a mensch
Well sheeeet!
Let's hear these tones yall speak of...
Jerry laughs at 3:15-3:25
I love you Jerry
The ball is now in your court Lzzy Hale
His set-up is totally "Jerry rigged"
Jason Watson this comment deserves way more likes.
Might have been taken from the first video?
Lol
Good one! Haha
Jerry was a race car driver.
Drove so Gdamn fast...
Never did win no checkered flags but he never did come in last...
Nice video, I had a tough time deciding between the JJ-100 and the BE-50
JJ without a doubt. In my experience, BEs are great, but not that great for the price. A modded Marshall 1959 sounds better than a BE for a lot less money

4:19 i believe he was going to say 'desertion' instead of 'distortion' (as it's "would" lyrics)
awesome amp
Awesome stuff
Lol. Jerry himself said 6yrs in the Friedman video.
In the thumbnail I legit thought ol' boy in the middle was rex Ryan
Jerry sounds like Cole Trickle
Goal amp.
Two years later and I am expecting the 100W this week.
Dave's a bit of a lump of a guy, wasn't expecting that 😎
what's the name of the intro song?
Branding the tolex would be cool, like how they do cattle.
And jerry never plays? Wtf
It takes a village to rock LOL
Why am I mister pink ?
I guess you still need two amps to get the sound
In the studio you could track using the amp's two modes of gain (BE/JBE)
Actually the "studio sound" is several amps and different guitars. The "tour" sound is two JJs
@@the92project Definitely, many things are possible in the studio. I think Jerry has a killer live sound as well
Damn didn't even recognize Jerry
I'm sure it's a cool amp, but $3700 is madness.
Shining Trapezoid yeah but remember bro, Jerry is an established artist unlike us. Well me anyway. If I could I absolutely would! Cheers!
JJ Jr. is a great amp and much more affordable at $1,599
Dave really needs to lose the weight and get healthier - we need him alive for may years to come...
Dave is even heavier than the tone of his guitar amps.
The interviewer sure likes to interrupt a lot. Thoroughly irritating.
Bogner.......
Awesome guitar player.
Looks like homeless Data.
It's a really testament to how good of a guy Dave Friedman is that he makes these amazing amps and rigs for top players, but still helps the everyday guy try to get his sound. Dave Friedman is a class act and his amps sound great.
