    I’m a plumber of 15 years and this is a good video. Was double checking to make sure the trim went with that rite temp valve configuration. If you are not a plumber. If you have the right mindset to be one brotha ! I’d hire you if your in NOVA

    Same happened to my shower. Next time call Kohler first . Got all replacement parts free . Lifetime warranty. I never registered with them , they just took my work for it I guess. Great customer service at Kohler.

    Thank you. I have a failing 23 y/o Coralais . I thought I had done everything perfectly and it still leaked. Turns out the new mixing unit was faulty. The repair is easy if the parts work. Like you when I first pulled off the mixing unit, I found a second piece before the balancing valve. The old Coralais units like this were 3 components- mixer, plate, and pressurizer. And the plate is sold separately.

    Worked great. Bought the parts at local Plumb place, Ferguson Plumbing. Cost about $72 for complete kit. Put it together after watching video and NO Leaks!! Yeah!! My parts came out easy. Thanks for the video.

      +Don Rossignol Also i forgot to add that Kohler warranties this part for life. Right now i just checked and expect to get one in 60-90 days. CRAZY! I couldn't wait that long to take a shower. I wouldn't have any friends. So i bought the part now, replaced defective one and now wait till Kohler sends me a new one. DOn't know if i will sell it online or keep it. I probably will keep it just in case my other bathroom goes bad.

      +Don Rossignol I did the same, bought from Home Depot, but got Kohler to send me a replacement, keeping mine, don't know if the part will be in short supply 5 yrs from now when it breaks again

    Your not the only one! My pressurizer was welded in by hard water and green corrosion. Had to use needle nose vice grips and an adjustable wrench to wiggle it out. BTW your 1-7 series are the videos of record for this project. Thank you!.

    The instructions on the new GP77759 say to discard the old metal shield and use the steel collar that comes with it. You are also supposed to space it off with 2 washers, but that did not allow the screws to make up, so I had to use one washer. So far it's working. The balancer also came with a bit of grease to use on the O-rings.

    Great video. Very informative and well narrated. Why there has to be so many different shower valve configurations is impossible to understand. How many ways should water be turned on and off for crying out loud? Thank you for you time, effort, and patience in posting this great video.

    The Kohler shower valve in our bathroom is quite different and so far not covered here on youtube. It is a "shower only" type valve similar to Kohler part # K-8304-KS. There is no tub/bath faucet. It is only 5 years old and leaking through the shower head.

    Thanks for these videos, very helpful to get oriented to the faucet before pulling mine apart! Also a lot of other valuable info, so thanks much for this!

    I am having trouble finding a video that shows the old mixer with springs and cups. They look exactly the same, but no one ever mentions that. Can I assemble my replacement without the springs?

    Very Useful video and very clear illustrations by Poolarity. Thanks a lot. What is the part which my Plumber keeps on saying (Before even opening up the Valve) that it needs a new Bullett? and the total cost of repairs will be $300.00. That's why I let me go and found you luckily.
    Also, do all Kohler showers needs the same parts or they have different parts according to the models.

    thank you for the video. But could you let me know how to remove the handle of the shower for changing the catridge? I could not remove it after removing three screws (two on the cover and one on handle). I would appreciate very much if you could tell me how to remove the handle. I could not find any information for removing handle for this model on the web.

    Anybody have any idea if this will fix my Kohler Bancroft not getting hot water, if you wait about an hour sometimes it will work I have tried adjusting the hot water screw and all that does is affect the temperature if the shower decides to work, been going on for about a year now, sometimes flushing the toilet would help but not anymore

    I'm having a problem with this thing right now. I tried replacing it and the old cap broke when I took it out just like this one. so I got a new one and now the water won't turn off, period. what could be the problem?

    • @PoolarityChannel
      @PoolarityChannel  9 лет назад

      +Michael Sackstein Did you use the Silicone Gel, to make sure the entire housing is seated and the cap is sealed. I had that issue where I put in the new one and the water would simply not turn off. Then I used the silicone gel and that extra milimeter to make sure everything was connected and pressed against each other with a good seal worked.

    • @mds2465
      @mds2465 9 лет назад

      yep, I tried the exact same silicone gel that you bought in every location you mentioned. that did not work. I'm starting to think that the unit I got was defective. I did return it and am expecting a new one to arrive this week. I hope this solves the problem. the cap looked like it had been tampered with previously when I picked it up at Home Depot.

    • @PoolarityChannel
      @PoolarityChannel  9 лет назад

      +Michael Sackstein Buy what you need to now from Home Depot, then place a call to Kohler and they will send you a replacement part for Free that you can just sell on eBay or return to Home Depot.

    • @mds2465
      @mds2465 9 лет назад

      Poolarity I already spoke to Kohler, they are sending me one also but I have a feeling since they changed the design of the cap & valve that it may have something to do with it not working in the boar. I hope that's not the case because in order to change out that boar I would have to cut a hole in the wall behind it which is cedar wood. and the shower is fiber glass. I also bought one on eBay that is supposedly identical to the one I have. I may very well sell one of them. but Kohler said that it was gonna take 3-4 weeks for the part to arrive so that's also why I went ahead and ordered another one.

      Michael Sackstein you probably installed the part up side down on accident. I did that once and yea the water wouldnt shut off.

    Not corrosion. Scale

    • @RayBeltran-Maui-HI
      @RayBeltran-Maui-HI 3 года назад

      Yes, Hard water scale will continue to damage plumbing parts, even after replacement. Just my experience with the many homes we’ve owned over the years. I’ve had licensed plumbers state this as well.

    When people offer videos like this do they also claim responsibility for when people flat out their houses because they do something wrong I have a kind of a inkling that this person is not a licensed professional because that piece in the back is called a balancing spool I see this time and time again amateur handyman/homeowner is trying to give instructional videos on how to replace parts of all different types of plumbing fixtures and unfortunately it doesn’t work out too well most of the time because you don’t take into consideration peoples abilities to fix things Facebook really need to start regulating videos like these
