Oh my goodness! I have a horde of 6x6 pattern papers. Because of your video, I hope I will make a huge dent in that horde. Thank you! Also, your card is adorable!
Thank you - I still turn to this layout and it works for pretty much any occasion! Have fun using up some of your 6x6" papers, and thanks for watching!
Thank you - it was really fun seeing Alicia turn it into a Sheetload. Hope you will play along, I am looking forward to tomorrow morning to see what the Sheetload team came up with using the idea.
Glad you enjoyed it! I have actually used this technique several more times - and depending on the papers you choose and the shape on the front, they look completely different each time! Have fun creating.
Thank you so very much for this awesome video. Love your style. Several things I really liked was: You provided template instructions, focusing on inside as well as outside. ❤
Thanks! I wanted some simple Christmas cards for great nieces and nephews. I have a couple pads to finish up, and these will be different enough so each child in a household will have a different card. I bought the #8 envelopes awhile back, thinking I'd make the mini slimline cards someday. I'll be using cutaparts and die cuts I have leftover from last year.
First video of yours that I've watched. I liked that it was short and sweet. It was clear from the start what the project was. The instructions were equally as clear. I looked over the thumbnails of some of your other videos and like that I can browse it and choose a card project easily. These particular cards are great. I have so much 6 x 6 paper and I love mini slimlines. Easy to make this pattern one's own. New Subscriber.
Welcome to my channel! I had a busy time with travelling and family over the summer so haven't been able to do a lot of tutorials but I'm looking forward to doing some more now that things have settled down a little. I do have a Gift Card Holder tutorial coming later this month! I appreciate you taking the time to comment - thank you.
Saw your video and had to stop by to see another amazing slime line card. Loved your design and the papers chosen that make very nice Birthday cards. Thanks for taking us viewers through your thought process.
Love this ... I'm always looking for new ways to use my stash of pattern paper .. and my favorite size is mini slimlines, I will be making some for sure ! Thanks for sharing !
This was so helpful. I’m a new card maker and I find the visual of your template to be key in giving this a try. I’m glad you remembered your idea in the morning!!! ❤ so many times I don’t! Great video
Thanks ... I've been preferring Slimline and Mini Slimlines (after 30+ years of 'regular' size) so I'm happy that this worked out so well! Glad you liked them.
WOW!! Karen, what a wonderful and unique idea. I have quite a few 6 x 6 pads and paper packs from when I used to make 6 x 6 cards. Now, I nearly always make slimline cards. Thank you SO much for this really cool idea. And, that's a great technique for standard slimline cards, too. Have a lovely day. Lori xx
Thanks so much! I did see your comment on my blog, but there is no reply button on Blogger. ?? Anyhow, you can't go wrong with those rulers - they are the perfect size for card making! Enjoy.
Oh, I don't know what size as I rarely measure stuff like that. I simply pulled out my circle dies, decided which size I liked and went with it. I have done them with other sizes and different shapes as well (rectangles, hexagons). Remember your card width is 3-1/2", so you will want a shape that fits inside that width. Other than that, just have fun!
I did not see a link to the thin foam squares, but I could have missed it. Can you advise if you use the 1/16 or the 1/32 size. Love your tutorials and cards. 🇨🇦
Hi - I prefer the 1/32 size. I didn't list it in the description, as I use so much of it I buy huge rolls from U-Line (in Canada, but they are also in the USA). That is overwhelming for most crafters, which is why I don't list it. Plus shipping is high so I order enough of it (and other things) to make it worth my while. I know several retailers carry packages of thin foam mounting squares, if that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@KarenAicken how thin is thin? Need to find in the US and looking for as close of a product as I can? This cards are so cute. I prefer min slimline cards over slimline. Great use of 6x6 paper of which I am a collector. Thanks 😊

Glad you like them! I buy my thin foam tape from Uline.ca, two rolls at a time. That is a little overwhelming for most people so check your favourite on-line retailer, who usually carry thin foam squares. At least in Canada and the US. Hope that helps!
The ones I use are 1/2" square but you can use smaller ones instead. It doesn't really support the flap, it just gives it a little lift. You can go ahead and use regular foam tape or even fun foam instead!
What a good question! When I sent my cards (and the additional ones I've made since I first shared this video) I signed them below the sentiment, right on the circle element inside. Remember you can use any shape, so if you want more room you could use a vertical rectangle or oval on the fold and inside. Also, I know I wrote on the white inside center section on at least one of the cards I sent. Additionally, if you want more room you could write your longer message on the back! Apparently a lot of people do this when a card doesn't have enough room inside for more than a signature. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tutorial on these super cute cards- very creative fun fold in an updated size! I appreciate your tips along the way 😁 Do you cut these bases from a 8.5 x 11 (letter size) piece of paper? Just wondering if you find you have easier to use scraps for sentiments or whatever if you start with it portrait or landscape?
Thank you! Yes, I do start with letter sized card stock for my card bases. For the Mini Slimline cards, my first cut is at the 6" mark on the long side (landscape). So that gives me an 8.5 x 6" piece of cardstock, and a very useable 4.5 x 8.5" leftover piece. I set that piece aside, and rotate the first piece on my cutter so I can cut it to 7" wide. That gives me a card base of 7" (the second cut) x 6" (the first cut). Score in the centre at 3.5" and there is the Mini Slimline card base. That leftover strip (which should be 1.5 x 6") is saved for sentiment strips, borders etc. I hope that helps!
YES - good catch. I normally make my Mini Slimline 3.5 x 6" so that was a total slip. Definitely 6-1/4" for these ones, although if you did them at a 6" height you could easily trim your 6x6" paper to 6 x 5.75 and go from there.
@DarleneHope EEK - for these cards that measurement is 8.5 x 6.25 and NOT the 6" as I said. I'm so used to making my Mini Slimline 3.5 x 6" that I never noticed it. Another viewer caught it and asked about it.
