The reserve bar is such a useful tool, I don't understand why it was not implemented in Nitro fueled. It would make the game so much easier to learn. Great gameplay btw
We don't understand why the reserve bar wasn't implemented in CTRNF, but we also don't understand why neither a decent online service, the CUP feature in multiplayer online, the Split screen mode in adventure mode, the USF, a decent shop system without the horrible coins, the crossplay between all the various platforms, the possibility to challenge Oxide after N.Trophy without having to come back to the menu (and so on) weren't implemented... :( The reason is that probably it is just due to poor development time and due to poor CTR knowledge and due to questionable choices made probably by Activision. The modern day games (as well as maybe CTRNF which is still an acceptable game) have helped to show us what's the difference between making a simple game and making a huge game (like for example Crash Team Racing Original by Naughty Dog). Everything has a sense while you think about the Classic CTR and while playing it carefully you can see that every little detail has a meaning. In fact, the Naught Dogs developers have always said it was a really hard game to develop. But, as we can see the hard work pays... CTR is an extremely rare gem and very unlikely we will see a GAME like this in these modern days. Luckily, some amazing modders (the CTR-Tools team) have now started creating some interesting mods in Classic CTR, by implementing what CTRNF didn't. Moreover, these developers are creating a PC PORT of this game, which will mean lots of mods, including an insane amount of new custom characters, new maps and a huge amount of new ideas will become true :) (Sorry for some probable typing errors but I'm in a hurry) (I reaffirm that CTRNF is still a good game, apart from the problems I mentioned before it is still an appreciable game and I can appreciate the effort Beenox put in it)
@@nico_defi I totally agree with you. Not to mention all the problems that the acquisition by microsoft has brought to activision and all its partner studios like beenox and toys for bob. Hope that one day we'll have a ctr capable of rivalring Mario kart again, not just for its gameplay, but as a game in general

In Crash Team Racing we have 3 TYPES of Turbo Pads: - Normal Turbo Pads (in both CTR and CTRNF): the majority of turbo pads are like this and they give you normal boost; - Super Turbo Pads (only in CTR): according to how many reserves you have reached (= how many turbo in a row you did previously) you can manage to gain the USF ULTIMATE SACRED FIRE, a special type of boosts which makes you incredibly fast (these are present only in Hot Air Skyway, Oxide Station, N. Gin Labs, Cortex Castle and Turbo Track) (there's also a cheat in the original game which change every normal pad into a super turbo pad); - Blue Fire Pads (only in CTRNF): these only exists in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled and allow you to reach this new special turbo called BLUE FIRE, which doesn't exist in classic CTR but this mod emulates it. (These are different from the Super Turbo Pads, and if you want to see the difference I recommend you to have a look at my video about the N. Gin Labs Speedrun, where you can see how the super turbo pad work). In fact, while you are in blue fire you can derapate and jump, while when you are in USF you can't derapate or jump and you have to be extremely careful while driving in order to maintain it. In fact, it requires lots of experience and the USF duration and speed you gain strongly depends on how many turbos and reserves you gained before jumping in to the super turbo pad. Moreover, this mod doesn't only include blue fire, but also includes the character randomizer cpu, the character engine modifier, the character modifier in adventure mode (the possibility to play the story mode with Penta), the reserve bar and the new u-turn. Quello che avrei dovuto dire è "ogni turbopad ti dà la velocità dello USF", poi si mantiene regolarmente come il SF di ctr e il blue di NF
