Thanks for the video. I will like to know if chewing gum strengthen the embouchure or makes it weak and what are the exercise one can do to make the embouchure stronger?

Curious. If you use just 1 reed and it wears down and you go to a new one, as you say... bam, complications.
However if you rotate through 4 reeds, they'll take longer to wear down, but at roughly the same rate. Will they not go bam bam bam bam all in a row and give you the same grief, but the grief will last 4x longer? I'm sure there is something I'm missing. How does this reconcile? Thank you.

Good question - usually they will die out one at a time so that you an start to add a new reed in the rotation.

To help strengthen embouchure should I also rotate regularly between practicing Alto and Tenor?

Good question - If you are regularly playing alto and tenor on gigs, you do need to practice both equally in order to build the strength, but playing tenor to build alto and vice versa wouldn't necessarily build your alto embouchure. It would build your breath support though.

Thanks for the great ideas. Would there be any value to playing different strength reeds from time to time. Would playing a stiffer reed strengthen your embouchure for a softer reed? Like a baseball player swinging a weighted bat before going to bat with his usual bat.

Good thought, BUT, if the reed is too stiff, you may resort to bad habits to get a free-blowing tone, and that would lead to weakening your embouchure. Good analogy, but in this case, I personally don't feel that it would work unless you were absolutely able to maintain your embouchure setting on the harder reed.
