Lmao called his lawyer while cuffed and in the back of the car. Then to have his lawyer call their boss to release him, while still on the phone is just gold.
I absolutely despise when a cop continually says “listen listen listen” but never seems to extend that courtesy to a citizen explaining or trying to answer their questions. Why don’t they check the ego and also listen? It would certainly de-escalate a lot of situations.

As soon as the police officer lies he is worthless to the department and to the public. Lying law enforcement officers should lose their immunity immediately.
If they fired every cop that was dishonest or crossed the line at one point, we’d hardly have any police officers left. I’m not saying it’s okay in the slightest. Thank god for modern technology and body cameras, they at least try to keep cops honest, but I’m sure if a cop wanted they could circumvent the rules still. I don’t even want to know what it was like for decades when cops had practically zero accountability. No matter who you were, or what you actually did 99.9% of the time the judges would take a cops word over any citizen, and actually that percentage may be lower now, but it’s still unfairly high.

The issue is the 911 dispatcher should inform the caller that he's not describing anything remotely illegal
I get where ur coming from, but they’re not trained to know the law like officers, so I doubt she knew or cared to know. Their training usually consists of first aid communication, and how to handle certain situations. Assuming she did know though, she would’ve still had to dispatch officers regardless.

They were just ignorant about the laws surrounding open carrying. Don’t think the dispatch person thought and relayed to the police that this guy was threatening ppl with a gun. Not to mention, she would have had to dispatch officers regardless of whether she knew it wasn’t against the law or not.
@@elisecross2338 Yes it was edited, I would send you a picture of the finger / hand that types but you would get grossed out. The scar tissue is gradually taking it's use away. I can type a txt and it is so subtle that letters become spaces.
Dispatchers are setting in front of a computer, a simple pop up on the screen asking them what questions to ask to verify what is actually happening would help. Ask MTG about being swatted 2 times in one week over prank calls.
Prank callers need to be held accountable just like the ignorance of the local LEO's to the law this man has been promoting for decades. Happy now?
@@SegoMan I genuinely don't think any clarification would help what happened in this scenario. Yeah, swatting needs to be held accountable (ask QTCinderella), but this was absolutely not swatting because it wasn't a malicious prank. The caller was just as misinformed about the law as law enforcement. The dispatcher was literally just doing her job.
What I really appreciate about this channel is how non biased, objective and straightforward it is, even in times of controversy.

Would be nice too see more positive cop interactions on this channel. Though people complain of the bad more than notice the good on any topic kinda like online reviews, also hard to find good cop bodycam footage on this chanel since most police interactions that are auditable lean towards bad cops wich is more interesting because positive, good or baseline credible work is not as interesting to watch or reward or even needs to be audited. I wonder how many amazing cops fly under the radar because people think that they are just doing the minimum required of not being corrupt.

What is sad is that these court orders take up to 2 or 3 years before any action is taken. These corrupt cops need action/reprimand way sooner so to prevent this illegal action happening again!
Its well known psychology that separating bad behavior from corrective action makes training impossible, in animals and people. All it does is make the person doing bad acts become paranoid and aggressive.

Yeah I stayed in Polk County for like 3 years. He’s a good one. They still have terrible officers who power trip. They got mad at me because I didn’t allow a search of my house because they didn’t have warrant. They didn’t barge in but they definitely told me “don’t call when your punk ass gets shot.”

Cops lie every day on reports I’ve gone to court for false traffic tickets and judge dismissed half of them and nobody cared that cops lied they are trained to lie because they want to get a lot of money out of you by adding multiple charges that way u can only fight half of them or so in court they can tell u “well we will throw out 2 tickets and u pay for the other 3” it’s all about the court house and city stealing your money.

Cops just need to learn when to stop digging themselves deeper into a hole.
That secondary investigation came very close to vindictive prosecution, a felony in many states. Indeed, since no crime had been committed in the first place, such fishing to lay future groundwork is specifically forbidden. It is, in one sense, a search without probable cause. Any policeman finding out someone was tracing him that way would swear it was a stalker or terrorist, planning an attack.

It should be noted that he never stated he did not know where his car was. That would be a lie. He said it was parked somewhere in the area, which I would surmise is true. He truthfully answered the deputy's question while declining to direct police to his vehicle.

I was caught breaking into my friends car while he looked for his spare key a few houses down at his mother's house. An officer passed in his cruiser and offered to unlock the door with a tool he possessed. After assisting, he demanded that my license matched the registration which it obviously didnt. We waited a bit for my friend who had unknowingly gone to a second location to look for the key. Unfortunately this was in the time before cell phones were ubiquitous, and I was hauled off to the local prison and charged with Felony B+E - Nighttime. Here is the kicker and main point of the story... After my friend bailed me out and came with me to court to clear my name, the DA was only willing to lower the charge to Misdemeanor B+E. I called her bluff and requested trial at which point she agreed to drop charges. To my mind her actions were obviously immoral and perhaps illegal.
@John q. Public Prosecutors do not care about justice. To them you're just one more number to add to their list of convictions to use in their resumes when going for higher positions or even court seats. Police want their arrest quotas, Prosecutors their convictions, and innocents have to walk around scared of tripping in the wrong place. Broken system.

Yeah, prosecutors would rather have a confession, (read:conviction) for a misdemeanor than justice for innocent citizens. They still count it as a win on their resume.

In many states, the Prosecutor is promoted based, not on caseload, but on convictions. This is already a conflict of interest. I have long maintained that the right to due process, and against self incrimination, are violated the moment the prosecution types the specification, "People vs. [Defendant]" since, when he is accused, he is still innocent, and one of the people. The jury, of the people, can be construed as against him. As one of the People, the defendant has paid tax, even if just sales tax, so he helped to pay the people who worked, on the clock, to build the case against him. This is less an issue, where the charge reads, "Prosecutor's Office vs. [Defendant]"
I remember how many audits and arrests used to happen when IRS promotions were based on collected revenues. When that changed, to only number of customers served, the number of audits went down and the sizes of assessments went down.
If we rated prosecutors on number of cases handled, including dismissals, I guarantee dismissals would increase, as they require less time.

Mr. Taylor is so much nicer than I'd be. I'd definitely be in a "I'm not asking you to give me my things right now, I'm demanding it; hand it to me right now," sort of mood. This is why, despite being a licensed attorney with a decent understanding of these issues, I'll never be the one doing 1A or 2A audits.

Go down to Black point Marina in Miami there's a 13-ft crocodile that lives at the boat ramp, and he's very aggressive. Many many places around South Florida in the cities east and west coast now. You have boas, anacondas, even King cobras have been found in the Everglades 🤔. Florida's got a lot of dangerous wildlife. I would love to see our state become open carry.

These tyrannical, jackbooted bully cops need to have qualified immunity taken away and be responsible for their actions. Do away with police unions and organizations. Require all cops, departments, cities, counties and states to carry insurance so we the people are not left holding the bill for their arrogance and inept police work. After so many claims against their insurance they will need to find another line of work. That way they can’t just go from city to city or department to department.
Even with body cams they feel the need to lie on their reports.
They don't fear body cams at all. If you notice the footage came from the victim. Sometimes the officers will hit thir cameras on purpose to block out noise or images. They will confiscate footage. The police are true rats even the good ones cause their complicit.

Body cam footage isn’t always made available. Departments have even been caught deceptively editing the footage that is released to make themselves look less bad
The report is written for the police officers and specifically their superiors, they just want to look like good practice. They won’t look at the video (understandably it would take forever) so lying on the report works for that

Update: there is no permit requirement anymore to conceal carry a gun in Florida. Open carry is still illegal with the exception stated in this video.

Michael's reasoning for saying that was because the PIGS were being extremely annd unnecessarily ignorant and disrespectful and he didn't appreciate it and sense he was following the law, he was treating it as a consensual encounter, even though he knew they weren't going to let him walk away.

As a retired LEO, I would say that your assessment of the situation and giving the officers a C- was extremely off base. The officers should have been given an F for not knowing the states statutes as they should and having a SGT and 3 other officers on scene, someone should have known the statute better than the citizen instead of violating the constitutional rights of a citizen they are there to protect. The officers acted on contempt of cop not contempt of law.

I am thoroughly impressed with Mr Taylor being able to call his lawyer while hand cuffed while in the back of a squad car.
I also love the fact that the law that allows the police officers to be armed was the very law that allowed Mr Taylor to open carry.
He made two calls. He first called to report himself to the dispatcher and then called a lawyer. I like auditors and I think their job is to bite the police all the time, but I don't like this kind of audit.

The act of fishing provides justification to stop and check for a fishing license. And in the interest of game warden safety the individual could be disarmed.

The court deemed that nobody can justify whether or not the officer feared for his life accept that officer. Charges against the officer and police force was dropped.

Given the origins of concealed carry laws, as detailed in this video, I think every freedom-minded citizen should really reflect on the current politicians' (who view themselves as the ruling class) efforts to deny national reciprocity to lawful license to carry individuals as well as Constitutional carry. Clearly these laws are geared toward preventing the "rabble" from the inherent right to defense of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

The cop said he didn't "immediately notice" the fishing pole. I think that is very reasonable. From a distance, if someone is carrying a thin fishing pole and an ar15 on their chest, which would you immediately notice? He didn't say that he didn't notice it at all.

You graded the police WAY too high. They took a law abiding citizen, put him face down on the hot Florida concrete, unlawfully disarmed him, handcuffed him illegally, frisked him, put him in the back seat of a patrol car, and then even after the cop saying you didnt break the law, they left him in handcuffs while copsplaining for another 10 minutes AFTER they said he wasnt breaking the law. They wrote a police report that had LIES in it. Then the cops had the nerve to unload the law abiding citizens weapons before putting them on the dusty ground and leaving him. The police earned an F- on this video and you should correct the grade.

I am curious to know if the police officer faces any possible repercussions as a result of the false information in his report. Had Audit the Audit provided a more complete coverage of the encounter you might have mentioned that the officer was warned about providing false information in his report (if this was the case) as this seems concerning to many people commenting about this episode. Where I live, if you get stopped by a state trooper it is often like watching a member of an elite military group; they are unthreatened, professional, always follow procedure, and often offer advice. Should you be detained by members of the sheriff’s department, the interaction may include intentional yelling and attempted bullying with escalation which I have witnessed more than once. A trooper once commented to me saying such members are sometimes “…bored and look for ways to make a simple traffic stop exciting” which is concerning on all levels and is one reason I watch your channel. Those paid to enforce our laws must know them very well and refrain from actions such as bullying while applying our laws evenly across all members of society who break them.
It worries me this cop got the details wrong in his report, and if those details serve to support his actions My concern grows accordingly. It is essential for Americans to be able to trust those charged with upholding our laws.😀. Keep up the great work!

@Alois Kaiser the US criminal justice system is tied together. The police, prosecution, judges all work hand in hand. Cops lie on police reports and that's the fact. Even with video and audio footage, cops get away because prosecution won't charge them.

it can also come in to question as to why the officer Lied on a Police report! not once but twice. First was the amount of time he was detained and cuffed. the second was stating he did not know it was a fishing pole when clearly the officer asked what he had in his hand and he said a Fishing pole then said the other hand. In 90% of states, it is Illegal to falsify a police report!
