  • So let's say you just went to the salon to get your hair done, and when the stylist spins you around to see your hair in the mirror, you absolutely HATE it. It's not what you asked for... or maybe it just looks straight up BAD. What do you do?? Do you say nothing and go find someone else to fix it? Do you tell them you don't love it and want it fixed?... And HOW do you tell them? That's what we're discussing today!

Alex noooo!!!! I’ve done the same. But you have to speak up! Or call the next day and rehearse what you want to say ahead of time to help with the nerves. I hate confrontation too, but you’re just doing yourself and the stylist a disservice by not being honest!

SAME I just got back and cried for a losing 30 min. I asked for curtain bangs and layers and to keep my long hair that I LOVED... While she was coming my hair she keeped saying it's to long and not good the didn't do a single thing I asked her to. She cut it REALLY short and it looks HORRIBLE and the layers aren't even layers. IDK HOW TO FIX IT. If anyone knows how to make hair grow alot in a month please tell me. I don't wanna go to school like this

In my experience when I've mentioned that I'm not happy the stylist usually takes offence or tries to make out that it looks great, this is why I won't trust anyone to do my hair anymore, I've had so many bad experiences. At least of I do it myself there's only me to blame.

Totally. They seem to think just because we don't know how to cut or color that we don't know what looks good or is done right. They go straight to gaslight mode. Recently I went back to say my colours was very top deck and needed to be broken up more... she said she would fix it but prefaced it with...." I personally wouldn't do this... but will do it so you're happy.. ok.. so don't freak out if kt doesn't look good"
And guess what: it looked way better vs disconnected pieces. Just so pathetic and immature. It's my hair and my money. You're not an artist. Get over yourself. 😂

It looks like the pic EXACTLY or you don't get paid. I love it when they back pedal and say your hair is not right for this cut, layers show up better on blonde hair, etc. Yay....you tell the client that BEFORE you agree to cut. Not make up stupid excuses afterwards because you can't cut hair right.

My biggest pet peeve is when you find a stylist, you start going to them regularly getting the same services and you can tell from that initial appointment to however many services, even sometimes years later now they think they have you sold, so they slowly start slacking in their work, they don’t take as much time to fine tune the details, or they double book, or take shortcuts in general really. I can see this from both sides and it still irritates me just the same.

    • @styledbysamvay
      @styledbysamvay  4 года назад +22

BlackThornRose127 I COMPLETELY agree!! I’m guilty of falling into that rut myself, but it’s so important to catch ourselves and remember to treat every appointment like it’s the client’s first one.

    • @BlackThorndRose
      @BlackThorndRose 4 года назад +6

Sam Vay Wow, that’s actually enlightening the way you said it, as a creative rut, because that’s actually understandable.
But when it comes across as a lack of caring and/or time, I think that’s when it creates an uneasy feeling for the client and a want for them to go to someone new.

    • @dianaoneil5469

Yes! I was always on time for appointments and one time I was told stylist “was in the back eating lunch” which I understand but he made me wait 15 minutes before coming out to me. How about if I was late? It’s disrespectful when you make an appointment and blatantly disregard your time as a client. He was way too comfortable with me.
Then he processed to ask me daughter how much to cut on her long her and chopped it short before she could answer. She came home crying. Enough, I found a new stylist.

We need to start protecting one another from bad hairstylists. I dislike giving bad reviews and don't do it often. We need to post a bad review every time a stylist cuts off four inches instead of one inch. We also need to start walking out without paying. If I order fish and steak comes to my table, the restaurant replaces the steak with fish and removes the charge for the steak from the total bill. The beauty industry is the only industry that thinks it is okay to listen to the customer, repeat it back, nod along, then do what ever the fark they want to the customer. Stylists think all they have to do is say "It frames your face. It looks great!" and that makes a profound act of disrespect okay. Well, it doesn't. If it happens to me again, I'm walking out without paying and posting a review to warn others. If enough of us do it, maybe the industry will get the message: Stop treating paying customers with hateful disrespect.

I tried to talk to my stylist, but she argues with me or says she knows what she's doing. I went to a color expert who worked for Loreal for 20 years and Rusk and is starting her own business. The color expert confirmed everything that I was unhappy with. I went back to my stylist for a blowout and she was upset and did a horrible blowout in 38 min for my long hair. I gave her the last chance and will be paying my new stylist much more GLADLY, because she EARNED it.

I JUST got my hair done with a new stylist. Showed a picture. Honestly would have liked my blonde to be a little brighter, but overall looked great. She never showed me the back of my hair in the chair and I had no reason to question it cause the front looked great. I paid and tipped and she offered to take a picture as i walked out to my car... and ....it was HORRIBLE from the back. She colored my face framing hair up to about an inch away from my roots. And then the WHOLE rest of the back of my head wasn't colored at all. It looked like I dipped my hair in a bleach bath and just stopped at the nape of my neck.
I am all about a miscommunication problem or a small mistake and giving someone the opportunity to correct it. But this was just so obviously not even a proper service...I just have zero trust. Left a message with the salon and want it corrected without spending another $150, but I don't trust that stylist to touch it again.

I went to the BEST salon in my area. I did my research, and I went to the one that was voted as a “luxe” salon. I have thin, fine hair that can go in a pony on one of those kiddie rubber bands (that thin). It was virgin hair. I asked for a neutral blonde and came out looking like a bumblebee. Black and yellow stripped. I paid $380 + tip. Next day I called her to fix it. There I am, 3 days later… happy and concerned at same time. I explained my concerns and dislikes. I left with lighter hair; just this time it was orange. Also, she charged me another $270. WTH?!!! I hate my hair now. It’s so sensitive and a horrible color. I can’t believe it. How hard it is to lighten hair like mine??!! I’ve had it before in one session because it was virgin hair. No previous process. Waited 18 months, after my daughter was born, so I had good regrow that. I’m super sad, set back almost $650 dlls, and with hair that I hate.

I just had a hairstylist mess up my hair a week ago. I have level 7 blonde hair with 4 inch of grown out highlights. I asked for my natural root to be brought down and face framing highlights....anyways she gave me brown hair with grey strips and almost black “face framing highlights”. The stylist wasn’t contacting me back. So I went to the owner and she accused me of editing the photos I sent her of my hair....anyways she finally “fixed” it and my blonde hair is back...fried unfortunately. I spent 6 months going heat free on my hair and now I’m starting over to get it healthy!

I'm in the exact same boat at this very moment. I'm sorry they fried your hair in the process of correcting their mistakes. I showed a picture to my stylist - WITH professional colorist directions of how to achieve the blond highlights with dimension that I wanted. I've already gone back once to the same stylist for a correction (trying to get my natural level 8 to the level 10 ash blond with dimension that I paid over $400 for!). Came away with chunks of golden brown added to the all-over level 8 she gave me after the first visit. Now I'm scheduled for a THIRD visit at which time I'll supposedly get what I paid for, but they're also expecting me to pay for it. So pissed. SO frustrated. So depressed about walking around with this horrid, ugly hair color for the last 6 weeks. It was really hard to speak up and calmly tell her it wasn't what I asked for in the picture. She has never apologized, even though she has stated it does not look like the picture and she's done nothing but try to make me feel guilty and stupid. Oh, and she's a "Platinum Designer". :(

A lot if these stylists fail to realize all what we so to grow out, correct damage etc so we can get a good cut and then they destroy our hair. It's awful. It cuts my self esteem down to a 0 when I get a bad cut.

Ma’am, I just need to vent. I’m so depressed rn because of my hair:
I have some thick frizzy hair that I straighten everything. single. day. I know that it’s unhealthy, but I’m so insecure about my hair because it’s medium length, and when it’s natural, it becomes shorter and it’s not cute on me. I’ve always been made fun of for my hair because literally everyone around me has straight long hair. If my hair were longer, I would go natural. But everytime I go to the hair salon, they have to cut off a lot because it’s so damaged. I hate having my hair medium length AND thick/curly. I’ve tried explaining to my stylist and asking for help but she always tells me stuff like “I would kill for hair like this!” or “Its not that hard to manage.” Sorry for the paragraph, I’m just really down right now about my hair and I feel lost on what to do about it. Thank you for the video❤️

I sometimes feel like what I see and what the stylist sees are two completely different things. Which just happened to me. I wanted to say, “You actually think this looks good? Seriously?”
I also think there is a problem with getting my point across - I don’t know all the proper terms so I just try to explain it the best I can. But it must be bad because “I really don’t like the layers because it looks too heavy at my ears and like I have two completely hair styles. So if you could bottom up so it is closer in length to the layers and blend them better, think I could work with it.” She proceeded to cut more off of the super short layers making the difference in lengths even more obvious. Am I really that out of touch that this is considered a good look?

I just came home from the salon. I asked for low lights, and explained to her the struggle I went through in the past to get red, warm tones out of my hair from dying it at home, and that I wanted a natural brown, with absolutely no warmth. Well, she did a reverse balayage, and it came out warm, and she even said when she was rinsing my hair, "Oh wow! Your hair does pull warm very easily!" I am a shy person, but I paid so much money for this, and I feel absolutely gutted right now. I'm so afraid to say anything.

I once went to get a chocolate balayage, showed the stylist pictures of what I wanted more less, and when it came time to tone my hair she told me, we only have these 3 toners, so pick the one you want. I felt kind of betrayed that initially when I told her what I wanted she didn’t let me know right there and then, “oh we probably won’t be able to give you that color, but this is what we have.” She literally had a fire engine red, a dark dark brown, a blondeish brown, and an orangy brown. I didn’t like any of those but went with the blondish brown because my hair was already bleached. I guess she could tell I wasn’t entirely happy so she told me I could always go back and try the orangy brown. I went back two hours later, she applied the toner, i left and didn’t like it, so I went to Sallys and got the chocolate brown I had initially asked for. I wasn’t super upset because i liked how she did the balyage, but i hated that I had to go and spend extra money to get the color I wanted after paying almost 300 bucks.

Leslie Dae sounds like she was pretty inexperienced when it comes to color theory... I could never imagine telling a client to “pick” their toner!!! Lol! You also don’t just pick one from the swatches. You formulate and mix multiple colors based on the color of the hair you need to tone and the end result you want 🤦‍♀️ At least you were able to get what you wanted in the end, even if you had to do it yourself.

That’s exactly what I did! She looked so happy at her work & I couldn’t bring myself to crush her spirit 😔So, I ended up going somewhere else & it was the SAME PRICE & this girl did more work as far as services, product & time. The 1st stylist charged me a full foil & only did half & threw some in the back (so it would look full when I put it up.) Idk, maybe she was just rusty, it was right after Covid 🤷🏼‍♀️ I even told her ahead of time. I’m on the hunt for a new stylist that I want to stay with! I explained in detail because I researched & obsessed over how to word it all to her in “salon term’s.” I booked 3 hours & said I may need more because my hair was thick & long. There was nothing I didn’t cover. The new hairstylist seemed more upset than I was about it. I’m not going to lose my shit on someone who meant well & was a sweetheart. Eh, I just don’t have it in me; unless maybe the stylist is just rude & could give an alcoholic shit about my hair, time & money. That would be different. K, I rambled through your whole video about my experience & now need to rewatch (Incase this ever happens again with say my daughter.) I absolutely LOVE my new stylist that came as a result of the one who drove me to hunt a new one down!! Going for my 1st Keratin treatment next week & I’m soooo excited, but nervous. Been watching your video’s on those too! My hair feels a little damaged from the bleach & I’m really really hoping this helps 🙏🏼 If you made it this damn long & are still reading; do you have a suggestion as to WHAT Keratin treatment would be prefect for me? I’m going to call them today to see what kind they do because I know she said they don’t have formaldehyde in theirs & you can like wash it right away. That doesn’t sound right from what I’ve read tho so far....

I had gotten my hair done and prepared so far ahead for what I wanted, since I wanted to go from dark brown to white. My hair was all healthy virgin hair and I watched a million videos on how it’s done to know what to expect. It’s not that I was unhappy with the results, but the way they did it. The stylist hadn’t actually put bleach on all of my hair, they combed lightener through my hair after applying it an inch off the roots then did my roots, and they didn’t do foils, like I had scheduled and paid for, until the end where they put all of a section sloppily between 2 foils and my head hurt so bad after from the combing. I had 4 foils in my hair that were falling out most of the time I sat there. Then after they rinsed it out they said that my hair wasn’t light enough at the ends (well yea of course it wasn’t since there was like barely any lightener there), so she bleached my lengths and ends again. I did walk out with white hair, but my hair was SO SO SO damaged, more than how damaged it should have been if it was all done properly, from all the brushing and double process on my lengths plus she straightened my hair when I just wanted it diffused because I have naturally wavy hair. I just plain went to a different stylist after that experience I didn’t even know what to go back and tell them. I had gotten what I wanted (except a full head of foils, that is) but the process was terrible, so what could I have even said, ya know? I’m also extremely shy and introverted and I felt so bad going back or saying something in the middle especially because this same stylist had done a color correction on my hair a few years ago and did an amazing job and I loved it, so I was pretty disappointed.

I think this (in some parts) links to the beauty industry (treatments). I have been in the same job for 5.5 years, but I was really young when I got this job lol. More often than not, people have a specific “ style “ or preference when they have they’re eyebrows or something done. The therapist does explain her opinion respectfully, and with eyebrow waxing she may do it initially the way the customer would like, and then give them the option to go thinner or darker with the dye for a tint. The amount of times where I’ve been witness or I’ve heard horror stories as things such as allergies or something that could have been prevented!

I recently got really chunky highlights by blo dry bar in Oxford ms. I was going for a full blonde, and they gave me early 2000s highlights and my cut was lopsided. I approached the situation calm and collected, and though the job was clearly botched, they blamed me for not liking it. I spoke with multiple people, and they told me that they would not fix or refund it. I got my mom to call, and she bitched out on them; and it fixed my whole problem. Sometimes being rude is the only option you have. Though I hate even confronting people, it is absolutely necessary in order to not be walked all over

I was going to this one hair stylist and the first time I went to her she corrected some bad highlights I had gotten and did a the most beautiful balayage. She did the painting technique and used plastic wrap which I think looks best. Every time I went back she did a different technique and starting teasing and using foils. Then she started doing these huge highlights around my face. One of the times she didn’t even touch the back and did like 20 highlights all around my face, I told her I didn’t like it and she just threw on a darker toner. I felt like she was just experimenting on my hair and I quit going to go her

Someone you pay hhndreds of dollars per session should do what you ask. No second chances. Besides, as a hairdresser he should have known better.

Whenever I disagreed with my previous stylist she would do this head shake reaction thing in bewilderment and anger and would just try to convince me that her opinion is better. Then she wouldn’t talk to me until it was time to go. She would forget appointments altogether and also appointment times. This, along with never remembering where my part is, and never gave me what I asked for or what I showed in pictures. She would look at a picture I brought for two seconds and just do whatever she wanted in her way of doing things. I’m done!

I just recently went to a stylist I’d never been to before, we had communicated prior I sent her pictures of my hair now as well as color and cut I wanted prior to my appointment she said no problem. When it was all said and done at the time it seemed fine but when I went home to further evaluate and play with it a little under my lights at home it definitely wasn’t the platinum color I asked for and the Bob wasn’t at all a-line/ inverted she said if she had any questions or any concerns to call her after my appointment was done so that I did center the picture and the cut again next to what she had done and she said that I could come in and she would redo it after spending almost $200 when I go in on my next appointment to get it re-done I wasn’t sure whether or not she was gonna make me pay for it since it was her fault Because I don’t know how much clearer I could’ve been with communicating since she had the pictures of what I asked for but is it something that I should be charged again for or what is the proper etiquette I don’t think I should have to pay anything.

i got my hair cut right before school started, i asked for a "wolf cut" all over. I showed what i wanted it to look like on the front and i showed pictures of what i wanted the back to look like. i understood that it would be hard to make it look exactly like the picture and i just wanted something similar to the picture anyway. Well i leave the salon and my hair was awful. the picture i showed had like three or four different layers in it. my hair didnt even look similar to that picture. one side of my face framing hair was real thick and choppy, the other side was thin and barely noticable that it was shorter than the rest. the back only has two layers and it is extremly noticable that it is very slanted. one side of my hair had like three layers that didnt blend in with the rest of my hair at all, THEN THE OTHER SIDE HAD NO LAYERS. Like this was a very very bad hair cut, i was actually excited to get this one too. also the face framing hair is shorter than i wanted, it keeps getting in my eyes because its too short to tuck behind my ears. like i said i got this a few days before school started so I'm kinda embarrassed to have this haircut. I dont know if i should go back to the place that cut it to see if they will redo it because when i walked out it looked okay and I wasn't too mad until I started really looking at it.

I was going blonde with highlights and as soon as she took the towel off my head after washing it and sat back in my chair I had purple streaks in my hair on the top . I totally loved the shade but I immediately asked why is there purple and she said from toner would wash out . Some washes at home will remove it ....... it never did . $189 it cost to walk out with purple blonde streaks 🙁 Her boss was there and I should have said something. So much for putting your trust to your hairdresser . She didn’t even care or seem guilty when I asked her why . I was heartbroken because I loved that blonde shade . Now my hair is horrible trying to get back to that shade . I don’t want it happening again. Never before have I ever hated my hair like now . 😊 it’s a great video thank you for posting it . I had a good appointment with a stylist about three weeks ago the quality of the work done was very good there was a little disparity in the inspiration photo and what I received. There was a lot of contrasting dimension in the inspiration photo that somehow did not translate into my hair. The stylist did tell me that some of the shades of purple in the inspiration photo may not show up in my hair because it was not a level 10. I suggested that she picks some of your colors in that same color scheme that would show up. While rinsing my hair she kept going on about the amount of dimension and contrast so I had assumed that she had used colors that showed up vividly so I was a little disappointed when she turned me around and in the dark it only appeared to be a single color dark purple. Despite there being about five different cheese in the inspiration photo I only ended up with two and the ones I did end up with were very close in color so the second one really only shows up in certain lighting. I feel like she might’ve chosen to go ahead and just use colors that weren’t going to show up so that she could get a second appointment out of me and then the next time it would require a lightning service and be even more expensive just to get to what I wanted when I would’ve been happy to pay another hundred or $150 to get all of the color at once without having to lighten my hair at all.
I ended up not liking how purple looks in my skin and I told her making it clear it was my preference not her work but she lost it on me and ended up posting me online In a stylists group calling me ungrateful claiming she told me the color would come out but I demanded she go ahead and use that shade anyway. She said she told me my hair was damaged and this was the best she could do with my awful hair and I should be happy it looks this good.
The thing is besides for the fact that she did tell me that she didn’t think the purple was going to show up everything other than that is a total lie and the opposite of what she told me she actually offered to lighten my hair while I was there to get that light purple and I told her no and said to pick a darker color. I actually was the one who expressed concern over my hair getting damaged or being damaged and she said that my hair was actually healthier than the majority of her clients. Are you even actually have text messages from her after the service where she offers again to bleach my hair so that she can get that color so if my hair was so fried that this was like the best she could do and I shouldn’t be lucky that it didn’t fallout why on earth would she volunteered to bleach my hair? I’m honestly not sure what I did wrong in this scenario I was very polite and kind offer to pay full price to change the my look and made 0 demands as to any color it had to be. I told her I was one to suggestion in fact I even told her that I would volunteer at some point to do one of those RUclips videos or TikTok‘s where the stylist gets cards and gets to pick out the cut and color of the client and surprise them so how that would give the impression that I was picky and demanding.
It sucks to because she was all nice to me through text messages when I told her that I didn’t like how it looks on me but then in this group did I just happened to see she was like a totally different person.

So I went in to a salon with damaged box dyed blonde hair. I told my stylist I wanted a reverse balayage with some warm honey blondes and light browns in it. I showed a picture, sent the picture to her and by the end of the treatment, it was black at the root, dark brown throughout and white blonde at the end. She offers to fix it without me having ti say much. I go back in and she blends the black and brown out more through my hair 😭. It does look better now that it’s blended and when it was curled it even looked nice. But I don’t curl it every day and it’s been 2 days since this happened and I wanna cry because I never wanted to be a brunette!! Should I tell my stylist and ask if she might be able to do a lighter brown at the root and more blonde throughout???

I just got my hair done and I hate it and so does everyone else. I asked for highlights and lowlights..I gave her the formula from my last stylist that unfortunately moved. I walked in as a blonde and she made my hair mousey brown. When I told her she said maybe after a few washes it will lighten up...I need to go back but I'm afraid she will not be able to fix it and it might be worse. I literally even showed her pictures of my hair before she started to show her what I like and how the girl before colored it.

I need to vent… I have never felt happy leaving the salon. Never. And somehow I just keep coming back, keep trying, going to different places, doing research. A few days ago I went to a new salon, lots of people love it and there’s so many good comments on instagram and my friend even went there. I went in with grown out balayage, that was pretty brassy. Think very light, pale orange and dark roots. I told them I want to bring the balayage up, keep my roots so it can just grow and tone the hair a cool beige blonde. What they did? They did highlights and low lights, the highlights are basically white and grey and the lowlights are black. My hair from before, the orange parts were toned and they are a pretty cool shade. The tips of my hair are just as dark as my roots now. I want the dark to light fade, always! I wanted my roots my natural color and for the ends to be light and thin balayage highlights through my hair. I also now have white strands in my face framing front pieces, just like the girl in this video. I don’t feel comfortable at all with my new hair and I am thinking of just dying it at home but I’m scared it will turn my hair a really bad shade… I don’t want to waste more money or hate my hair again. I just wish I never went, I should have toned it at home… what do I do😭

I went to one of the best salons in my town for about a year and a half. Hair never looked good. I finally did research and started coloring/cutting/conditioning myself. Now it always looks good and I get many compliments. I had fine, frizzy hair. I brought this up every time I was in the salon... I now use thickening lotion and OUAI leave-in conditioner. Made my hair look like hair again. Why is that so hard for a salon to understand? I don't think they keep up with the latest products. The stylist knew nothing about hair growth supplements, which also help me. Also, I like hair to look natural so I color in layers with 3 shades to give it depth. Salon would only use 2 and it looked ridiculous. WTF? It's not even that hard. Last, the shape of the cut must be flattering to your face shape. Don't add width at the widest part of the face. I brought this up many times. A hair stylist needs to understand shape and color. Thanks for letting me vent.

I had a traumatic experience with a stylist, I wanted to go blonde but I naturally have dark hair, so they bleached my hair to the point that it was like an elastic gummy.... Then they said it was unfixable so they gave me super short haircut, and all layered and put on some dark dye on top to "hide the damage", lol. It was awful. Worst time of my life, honestly. I have never felt so UGLY :(. Since then I grew my hair our and now I just dye it with henna and cut the ends myself every few months. My hair is ok, healthy, but SO boring. I wish so much I could get over my anxiety and do something different and fun, cut it in layers and try to go blonde!!

If there are no pictures to share as to what cut/service is desired, stylist might infer some from how we look. Meaning: Wash & Go? Busy Soccer Mom? Professional Business Person? Edgy Artist? etc. Just a random share. . .

Well Sam if it was easy as you say everyone would go back to the same hairdresser to have it fix. However, based on my personal experiences and for others. Most hairdresser instead of accepting the fault to fix it they charge us more with an extra use of shampoo and conditioner by rescheduling us for a second appointment! Then, some also become mad and continue to worsen the situation by making a worse haircut. That is why we are afraid of going back and would rather try another hair salon.

And I can't trust the person again after they fucked my hair up. Just came from a stylist showed her pictures multiple pictures and still she didn't cut it that way.

@@michaelamanus189 I totally get you! Sometimes hairdressers have the tendency to impose confidence THAT they can cut hair but end up using you as a little experimentation just to build clientele. But real clientele will always come back when you give them genuine integrity. They try to use people like the way mechanics use people's cars. Once they come in as outdated models they do not have the genuine interest to invest the money is worth to repair but instead, they create shortcuts you won't see to repair a car!

@@jennifervallecillo2133 exactly. Jennifer. And it's upsetting. Because finding a hairdresser to especially cut your hair takes real guts and the amount of trust you put in that person, just like you said they act like they can cut but end up using us as experiment's. And for me, I want to walk a path with my stylist and for me to hop from one so called stylist to another ain't doing it for me. It's actually sad. Now I have to go out next week to another stylist hoping they are skilled enough to fix this bad cut and again hoping my trusts won't be shattered.
And of all thing's she rushed to finish my hair.

I noticed when someone gives a bad review on a stylist on Google or wherever the stylist always responds defensively and always makes it sound like it’s the clients fault

    My stylist is really nice.
He did highlights - SUPER close to my roots instead of balayage. The highlights are thick and not at all what I like or what looks good on me. I showed him my last balayage job for reference..... I'm sad. I hope he can fix it.
I feel like im hideous right now.

I just got my hair lightened, at first I thought I wanted highlights but the pictures I was looking at were balayages. & I told her this. She then went on to say what I want is really high maintenance and she did a “highlight balayage” is that a thing? Now it’s really stripy and some of the start highlights have orange/brown cuz she did a little shadow root also 🤦🏻‍♀️idk what happened. The other lady/ stylist there was like telling her not to do this & that so I think that just made it worse! Too many hands in the pot! And it made her seem like she didn’t know what she was doing! I’m not happy with my hair 😢

The tough part is when they completely chop your hair off. I just had 12 inches chopped off (had clip ins that my natural hair was longer so how I know exact amounts) chopped so not something that’s easily fixed.

I had my hair done and It looks nothing like the photos I showed my stylist and top that, the total cost was more than I was told. But I didn’t have the courage to tell her while in the chair so I messaged her when I got home (about making it more like the photo I showed) I’m going to see her soon but should I tip her again?

So I’ve been getting my hair dyed since I was 14, and the last time I got my hair dyed was last year when I was 19. When I first wanted my hair done I specifically asked for subtle highlights (for the record I had dishwater blonde hair) … I ended up being platinum. One or two years later I showed her a picture of a dark red color I wanted… well it turned out fine but it eventually faded to a disgusting shade of orange, so I she convinced me to go back to blonde. Wellll it ended up being to much bleaching and it looked like “straw” according to my mother. A couple of years later (when I was 18) I went elsewhere for service. I was going to get a COOL brown. welllll… it was yet again another disgusting reddish/orange shade (much darker though). Wellll I got my hair rebleached by my regular hair stylist and it turned out fine, but 2 years later (which was last year when I was 19/ almost 20) I wanted to go grey. So I asked my regular hair stylist to do it. She downright refused. So I just left and got my hair done elsewhere. This other place did a good job, but it still wasn’t what I wanted. I wanted grey but ended up with a cool blonde shade. So I said f*ck it and used box dye. It was very uneven and patchy, so I just said “screw this I’m never dying my hair again”
One year later (so now I’m now 20 almost 21) and the grey is gone aaaaaand I’m back to being box dye blonde. In other words…. the grey faded and the bleach from last year STILL hasn’t grown out. I have veeeery slow growing hair so Im hoping by next year I’ll be back to natural or at least mostly natural. And I don’t think I’m dishwater blonde anymore because the last time I straightened my hair I noticed it was darker underneath when I put my hair up! So I’m hoping I won’t have blonde hair when this bleached hair grows out because I’m so done with blonde hair…
