Shout-out to the pianist who was keeping up with Natalie's pace. Poor Natalie was sick but she still sung so beautifully.

The pianist wrote the music for this song and showed it to Natalie. Natalie wrote the lyrics shortly thereafter. So, sure, she could keep up with Natalie - they performed this song countless times....

My favorite Miss Natalie Cole song too...Being portuguese it's impossible not feeling related to this song in particular, as it expresses her long love for brazilian music ("bossa nova"), and it is able to showcase her love for being born and growing up near the coastline (California), like myself...goose bumps and chils all over...and although she is not at her best in this video, it is more than fair to acknowledge her deep sense of kindness, humility and professionalism when invited to perform...God bless her (true) soul and may she rest in peace now!...

when I read on my MSN homepage that she died, I was really heartbroken...and I sat there and cried like a baby. It really says something about the talent of these ARTISTS, that we respond like that, when they leave us for whatever reason. Honestly, up until her death, it never crossed my mind that her history of substance abuse would catch up with her and fatally impact her body like it did. I just decided once she came back to the industry from resting and recovering, that she'd just go back to being the Natalie wee knew...and she did. Her voice snapped back and we were blown away again. But she just proved, that it doesnt matter who you are or what you've accomplished in life, our bodies are vessels and whatever we put in them will affect how they function, afterwards. I admire her courage and character, that she didnt withdraw and disappear when it became obvious that the abuse on her "insides" started to show up on the outside. And I guessing she wasnt hung up on her looks because SHE KNEW how much we adored her, and couldn't have cared less about the weight loss or whatever else, she lost. What Im really sad about, is that we wont be able to see her again. Thats why I cried. Along with the fact, that her first 5 or 6 albums, were a HUGE part of my life soundtrack.

I could hardly watch this, this is one of my favorite N.C songs, at first, I thought the lady at the piano was Natalie, but when she started walking toward center stage, and then started singing, I had to stop the video, regain my composure and try it again. Poor Natalie, she was great for a long time, I loved her, still do. RIP Natalie Cole, after it was all over, I guess she needed rest. I'm sad.
