Honestly I've never wanted a RUclips channel to succeed more than the boys. I think they'll be my first patreon sub, this is nothing but pure unadulterated fan friendly content. Haven't heard a peep about manscaped
Some V/O trivia that Gav will appreciate - the guy who voices Patches is the guy who voices the UK McDonald's adverts (imagine Patches saying "McCafé" and you'll hear it)
Ok respect to Powers that was a clean flamelurker kill! Rory really benefits from the absolute shite being spouted in bossfights it gives him +5 focus.
Oh wow, a whole episode just for one boss fight. I bet Powers gets really stuck on this one. [Proceeds to watch him piss about with fist weapons and pickaxes for half an hour then rinse the boss on like the third try whilst wearing the wrong ring...] Truly incredible, Rory. It's almost like you're really good at this or something. Poor Flamelurker, never tasted sushi...
That little bit with the post-its... I am so hoping for a behind the scenes doc some day. The effort put into this season is really something. Great work.
Seriously hope Rory continues to chin bosses in future episodes so I can call this the "Scholar of the first chin"-edition 😂 Phenomenal episode guys! To the fools!
POWERS IS OP!!! Let’s gooooo. But if I can be serious for a moment, I think I speak for all of us when I say I hope we haven’t seen the last of Papa Finchy’s chinnin’ gloves.
This was one of the funniest episodes the lads have ever done - I was rolling on my floor with the training montage, the hagrid chat, the rocky reference with the kebab shop.
Holy crap, Rory did AMAZING in this boss fight! It took me way more tries. Then again, I hadn't done the Depraved Chasm (or whatever the gross area is called) yet at this point as I was not looking forward to that, so I was probably less leveled than Rory. Big props!
I know it's all been recorded already and that I'll find out more watching the remaining episodes, but just wanted to say that you can get a few colourless demon souls without being in pure black tendency. Ones in Boletaria with pure white so hopefully thatll be grabbed in an upcoming ep, and then you can get two more from Snuggly the crow. And then there's two from the whole Mephistopheles quest but that's a tad naughty
Just a tiny comment but the BTS shots of the planning, callbacks to previous series are very very good. They're sprinkled in just the right amount, not too much, not too less. Top notch work as always boys :)
I heard that one day, Fromsoft fed a company gorilla 8 cans of ‘special’ red bull and let it loose on the new hires for “final selection”, ol Miyazaki had so much fun he wanted to immortalise the day so decided to use the footage for the game to make Flamelurker.
Little tidbit of info: Had Rory died in human form in Stonefang and mucked up the world tendency, you would still be able to get it to pure white offline in this playthrough. You would have to get it all the way to pure black with stone of ephemeral eyes and jumping off the ledge about five times, then go to 2-2 and take out the black phantom Scirvir, and then very importantly, do no go to the nexus OR warp (dying is ok as long as you're not human), and backtrack all the way to the beginning of 2-1 and kill the primevil demon, and then after warping or going to the nexus you'll be one boss kill away from pure white. You could basically utilize the same strategy in any of the areas to get pure white if you'd died in body form at all, provided you had not killed the final boss of the area yet. It can be easier or harder in different areas though depending on the path you have to trek from the black phantom area to the primeval demon area. You could do the reverese path, but considering the primeval is an easy kill and the black phantoms are all super strong, better to have the short runback for the black phantom and then race to the primeval demon even if it can be a bit far (1 being the worst by far, the others not that bad). Never saw this mentioned on any of the wikis but I think it could be quite useful. While it does mean you could use stone of ephemeral eyes more liberally except on the last boss of each area, having a surplus of stones to easily get pure black definitely helps make this possible.
@39:18 I just want to say, not only is Krupa spot on, but he's actually selling it a bit short if you ask me. I would say that Flamelurker is THE hardest boss in the game. Absolutely incredible job Rory!
Good play!! I remember how the Flamelurker almost broke me when I played the PS3 version when it was released. Since then he's always held a place of fear in my heart.
I never thought of that, maybe Flame and Dark Lurker are related to each other :) Congrats though! This is considered either the hardest or 2nd hardest boss in the game really. This guy, for the movement speed of your character in the game and everything else to do with how you build your character in this game, this guy is nails generally. Only magic builds are really really good against him I guess. But even then his speed is pretty good.
I would pay all the money to watch a Best in Show style documentary series about Hagrid, going round and curing but just as importantly pronouncing all the different forms of cancer! 😂 I was in bits once again this episode! Excellent stuff Gents!
I've been loving the work you boys make I would like to see the 3 of you try remnant from the ashes I think you 3 would like it alot keep up the awesome job lads
I'm not taking away Rory's credit, because we all know the noob status is long gone. He's a madman, but Rory is actually just undeniably good at these games. But I do think Flamelurker has an inflated reputation of being a 'hard' boss. Demon's souls was the first of its kind, people weren't used to bosses like that. But think of Rory fighting Gael, or Midir, or Laurence and Ludwig, think of Sir Alonne and the Burnt Ivory King, what about Isshin and the demon of Hatred. These bosses are all mountains, and Flamelurker is barely a hill. His attacks are all phsycial, he has small fire AoE's and has literally 7 moves plus a monkey hop. Lurker just doesn't hold a candle (pardon the pun) compared to trail of Gods and monsters Rory has left in his wake. Flamelurker never stood a chance. It's applies to all of Demon's Souls. I just don't see the bosses being a challenge to Rory this is going to be his comfort season where he can relax and have fun.
Yeah I never got the “Flamelurker is the hardest boss” crowd. This isn’t me bragging but I beat him first try, without getting hit. I was honestly so disappointed with the fight because it was hyped up so much.
@@sarge019l4 aye, but it still makes the game decidedly easier. Don't mistake this for some 'get gud scrub' mentality but some of the best retry episodes are ones where they are stuck on a boss. Being able to split aggro makes the game a LOT easier imo. I think Rory is good enough to beat the game no summons tbh.
You guys should do the dark souls board game. You can play with 3 players and do a campaign with all the expansions. You could also play it on tabletop simulator for easier access to it.
So Forrest Gump was a book and the author cashed in on the success and released a sequel in which Forrest goes to space. What a great tv series it would be
This is months on now, but the gorilla chat and Powers' hypothetical both made me laugh and want to reiterate a commonly known thing: gorillas in captivity are more or less there by agreement. We don't know how strong they actually are because they are uncooperative with our attempts to test their capacity. Gorillas who become enraged in captivity basically cannot be contained by even the strongest barriers, and when they escape, they usually come back with barely any coercion - sedation is used as a precaution, but it's rare to have a "problem" gorilla. Essentially they're just okay with being kept by humans until they're not. I reckon you'd have a hard time stabbing one.
"We've got this boys I'm invincible" - Rory 3 minutes into a 48 minute episode
The classic powers over estimation
He really did brilliantly though, tons of players have a much much harder time with Flamelurker
Classic Powers. Which reminds me, it’s summer, so happy birthseason to him!
Honestly I've never wanted a RUclips channel to succeed more than the boys. I think they'll be my first patreon sub, this is nothing but pure unadulterated fan friendly content. Haven't heard a peep about manscaped
Can we all take a minute to appreciate the confidence Gav had to try a new Hagrid voice and then absolutely knock it out of the park?
This is an absolute phenomenal episode boys, the Hagrid chat had me crying with laughter!
Same! I nearly spit out my drink. Perfect impression!
Some V/O trivia that Gav will appreciate - the guy who voices Patches is the guy who voices the UK McDonald's adverts (imagine Patches saying "McCafé" and you'll hear it)
Holy shit and it is!
Ok respect to Powers that was a clean flamelurker kill! Rory really benefits from the absolute shite being spouted in bossfights it gives him +5 focus.
them trying out hands of god is one of my favorite RKG/PTT moments. doing a rewatch and pissed myself when Papa donkey punched those miners 😂🫡
Amazing out of context quote there!
"I think this is the guy that destroyed asgard" That's a contender for quote of the series already lol.
Elden Ring Finchy gets Hagrids voice or I riot. I may be the only one, but it'll happen
If the next shirt doesn't feature Papa's glorious red locks and the words "Forgive Me Father For I Have Chinned" then RKG is dead to me.
only problem is that line was from the sekiro series
Oh wow, a whole episode just for one boss fight. I bet Powers gets really stuck on this one. This is my favourite Demon's Souls themed Harry Potter podcast.
I absolutely fucking loved the 80s montage!!!!!
POWERS IS OP!!! Let’s gooooo.

When powers first uses the gloves! I nearly died. Best episode!
Can't believe Rory got him in that run, he turned the fight totally around! I thought it was a failed run within the first minute of the fight!
When you guys said boss episode I assumed Rory would be bouncing off Flamelurker all episode not smashing it, well done Powers.
I love how Rory brings up the boxing fists and then you immediately go into a Rocky style grinding montage 🤣
"He's only ever had burnt toast!"
The pathos from RKG, just beautiful.
Papa Finchy's autobiography - Forgive Me Father, For I Have Chinned
Might have to mock up a book cover if I get the energy and time
Sometimes, you just tune in on a Saturday and remember what it's all about. The boys, the bants, the game. Love you guys x
I dunno why but "toast is all he knows" really sent me
This boss taught me that souls games were souls games back in the PS3 version. Super well done boys!
I was not expecting Gav to have a perfect Hagrid voice, holy shit. 😭
"He could cook a chicken just by holding it." Really made me laugh.
Once again seeing the evolution of Rory improving at these games is excellent. 👏
This was one of the funniest episodes the lads have ever done - I was rolling on my floor with the training montage, the hagrid chat, the rocky reference with the kebab shop.

Love the feeling of settling in for a good old boss episode

there were two parries in this episode. I don't recall a prism stone either
@@haydeng3541 I think I missed them then, will check later this evening. Thank you for pointing it out, I don't like my stats to be inaccurate
@@haydeng3541 For the prism stone it may have been off camera and I based it on the number, not entirely sure though so will check.
@@haydeng3541 7:08, the number of prism stones has dropped to 30
Powers was in his bag with the Flamelurker. Training montage and the Hands of God were great. Loved the callback to Sekiro too. TO THE FOOLS!
I love the fact that the boys actively grind this episode and in Elden Ring it's almost like levelling is seen as a full on negative
That final run at the boss was fantatsic. Well done powers
@39:18 I just want to say, not only is Krupa spot on, but he's actually selling it a bit short if you ask me. I would say that Flamelurker is THE hardest boss in the game. Absolutely incredible job Rory!

very impressive powers! what a fight that was
*Puts chinning gloves on
"Flamelurker, can I see you outside..?"
Well that was incredible. I remember struggling with this boss so much when I first played it way back in the day.
The Harry Potter banter had me absolutely rollin!!! Great episode boys!
OMG the 80s training montage had me deeeeeeaaaaaaaaad
This was amazing to watch, Rory did amazingly! I actually stopped playing after I got to Flamey. Also, Banter Bus was rolling in this episode!
I never thought of that, maybe Flame and Dark Lurker are related to each other :)

Maybe a full boss episode. but Rory really didn't have that many attemps. Very well done!
Good to see you asking the hard hitting questions.
Now the run really begins. 🔥
... with even more Harry Potter disrespect. Muggles.
"Every priests dreams to punch the devil" lol - 17:10
I would pay all the money to watch a Best in Show style documentary series about Hagrid, going round and curing but just as importantly pronouncing all the different forms of cancer! 😂
I was in bits once again this episode!
Excellent stuff Gents!
wtf that final round with Flamelurker was some faze clan shit
I've been loving the work you boys make I would like to see the 3 of you try remnant from the ashes I think you 3 would like it alot keep up the awesome job lads
How do you think there got to be so many Weasleys? That car works for Arthur
Amazing vid once again boys
R.I.P. Robbie Coltrane❤
Nothing like the good ole souls grind.
I'll be honest, I didn't expect the gauntlets from Arcane to be in this game haha
I absolutely love the montage.
Grind Time Montage is ICONIC

Hagrid swooping in on a motorbike like Bupa Santa. "Ho ho ho, I hear you've been a tumorous boy this year"
The Hagrid convo made my pasta come out my nose. Wasn't pleasant.

Incredible episode!
What a fantastic montage
This is exactly what I have been waiting for.
These fists are fucking incredible. I love them.
38:55 - Lovely B roll
EPIC training montage.
“He could cook a chicken just by holding it”. Lovely chat!
Meat cleaver acquired. Congrats on beating the game!
LOVE the montage
I've said it before, I'll say it again: I am willing to be RKG's HP consultant. XD
I hope they do an elden ring series 🌚
Rory is fantastic player!
Pfft, Rory think he can beat the guy that killed Gandalf.
Please never stop the Harry Potter banter
"Nice one, Flamelurker!" Roflmao
Dammit guys, sitting here in the middle of a French camping laughing uncontrollably because of the Hagrid doctor bit.
I'd love to see the boi's play fable 1 & or 2.
Hearing Rory say ‘this is pub fighting’
makes me wanna see someone make a soulslike but it’s just pub fights
Forgive me father for I have chinned is still my favourite gag on a retry 😂
The Harry Potter Bants took Rory right out of that fight 🤣🤣
Incredible
