You absolutely nailed the “why cats” question. This story would still work perfectly with a human cast, but it’s difficult to make humans super expressive without disrupting the serious nature of the story. Cartoon cats strike a perfect balance between serious and expressive, and they work perfectly in a story about gangsters and criminals! 😅 Loved the reaction!! Would love to see y’all react to season 1 when it comes out, but in the meantime, I highly recommend Monkey Wrench!

"I love how there's a warehouse of TNT..." Fun fact: Dynamite and TNT are actually different explosives, with TNT being newer (historically speaking) than dynamite. Dynamite is basically diluted nitroglycerin, and while safer than black powder it still has a few hazards (like being flammable, the nitroglycerin leaking out over time, etc). Fun cat fact: The coloring pattern on Siamese cats is basically a map of their body heat, with darker fur correlating to the cooler extremities (nose, ears, feet, tail) of the body. This occurs because one of the genes for their fur color destabilizes at higher temperatures, essentially "bleaching" out the fur's color across their body.

29:39 I know I’m so late but it’s hinted that Rocky has a crush on Mitzi while Mitizi kinda have a mother son type of relationship him. Rocky has this jealousy rivalry thing with Mr. Sable which is why he kinda messes with him and was perfectly okay destroying machinery filed with all the dynamite 🧨 and such lol. That’s why at 36:34 you see images of Mr.Sable devastated by the destruction of the trio and bad guys. Give the comics a read, it has amazing storyline and beautifully written characters. Nice reaction beautifuls !
Absolutely can't wait for season 1 of Lackadaisy to arrive! The team has proved so well what they can produced! If yall are open to reccs, I'd recommend a watch of a couple of episodes of Monkey Wrench and the pilot of Godspeed on youtube 👍

Okay Ive rrad some reasons why but I'm gonna drop my two cents in the lot. The reason why is because in the 1920s, also known as the American period called the Roaring Twenties, had their own slang. For example, flappers are basically the new generation of women at the time who dressed more open and risqué, showing more skin and wearing straight dresses and flamboyant jewelry. Men would mock them and call them flapping ducks but woman of the time retook the insult and made it their calling card. Well the music at the time was called swing. Today there is a new version of this kind of music called electro-swing I really recommend caravan peris and Jaime berry, the tea, behind this show seem to also listen to it. As well as jazz, which I'm sure you've heard of. Those who listened to and dance to swing at clubs and at parties at home would call themselves "cool cats". Hence why cats.
Can confirm, my parents are from South ('cajun") Louisiana. They used to call me & my little sister "mon cher" when we were children. Funny aside-I'm an older guy, my grandmother lived through Prohibition. That scene where they're all reacting to how bad the booze tastes reminds me of some of the stories she told me before she passed on.
I'll recommend reacting to solar balls. It is pretty popular. It already has a lot of episodes, but I haven't seen anybody react to the full series. Just a suggestion. There is a playlist if you want to watch it.
Viktor is my Spirit Animal, but Rocky is my favorite char. Just watching his tail is an education in itself. And don't be fooled by Mordecai's elegance; he and Viktor are BAD people. The Lackadaisy speakeasy (night club) was once a ery popular place until Mitzi's husband, Atlas, died. Now the Lackadaisy crew are trying to rebuild. They're 'Bootleggers:' They smuggle illegal liquor into the city and sell it at their underground (in this case, literally) night club. If you want to know more about the Prohibition Era, try Oversimplified channel's Prohibition episode. Oversimplified presents kind off Cliff's Note's history using animation in a funny, understandable fashion (and they make great reactions, too).
I gotta make as character for Call of Cthulhu 1920. I want to make a Torpedo (slang for a mob gunman) or Hatchet (slang for mob hitman) and am going to model Mordecai or Rocky, still undecided. (Yes, I know, Calvin "Freckle" is the torpedo...Rocky is just a band musician who doubles as bootlegger)
i new rocky's voice reminded my of n from murder drones. it sounded so similar so i looked it up and i was right. same voice actor lol. (btw only 7 min in so idk if you already mentioned that lol)

The reason why Mordecai didn’t shoot ivy is because of a short story where Mordecai meets a very young Ivy Which you reacted to
Ivy is the goddaughter of his former Boss, Atlas. He does have sentimentality issues, in spite of his posturing.
