My grandma’s grandfather was one of the (if I am not mistaking what she told me) biggest share holders of CNW. All I know is that he was one of the top 6 shareholders. My grandmother got to ride in the CNW cabs all the time when she was little.
We'd see the CNW coal trains pass through on their way to the Chicago, Detroit and Milwaukee areas. Their coal operations in the Powder River area of Wyoming were very busy.
Your description says cnw was chartered in 1859 but it was originally chartered in 1848 and construction began ever since until 11 years later operations began in 1859 when the line was complete
Cool CNW video,I sure miss fannin the CNW growing up.
Awesome..retired CNW/UP locomotive department. Miss those days B4 UP! Great company great career great people great time👍👍❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸😎
It was a wonderful era for photography as well.
Nice especially since I’m a CNW Fan!
Red Caboose Productions me too!
Thanks for bringing back my childhood. I sure do miss those colors. It would be cool if UP painted a few of their locos like this.
Yes, I think Norfolk Southern does a better job of that than UP.

Thanks for letting us know.
Hey Walt what’s your favorite railroad
Hmm. I suppose it would have to be the Santa Fe, as a Class 1 common carrier. Although, I'm also a big fan of Amtrak.
The sd50’s horn sounded like an sd70ace
Yes, could they be the exact same type? Both are EMD-built engines.
Walt Loevy I was trying to say that the sd50’s horn sounded like the raised letter k5lla’s on the ace’s. Ik they are both emd’s.
Right. Thank you for clarifying.
