Wow, guess I am going to need to go to some events so I can be eye candy, espeacially at my age. Not sure if I was when I was much younger, but if I can tell everyone I spent the weekend being eye candy, it will be as good as the windy's I tell on the weekend.
Yah, sitting around at a public event just looking good is as much fun as being an interpreter. The real fun comes after the venue closes and we sit around the campfire telling lies to each other about how good we were when we were young. Thanks for watching!
What about... for the lack of a better term, solo event? Were I live (quite outside the US) there is no group doing this kind of stuff, so I'm a bit at loss here
@@migueldeluis5507 If I want do polish living impression e.x. 1920 military surplus isn't good choice. Because we have Polish- Soviet War (1919-1921). 1921-1930 surplus was stored in military resources. We don't have US stuff.
@@CampCraftPL But you had a healthy, if very Polish, of boy scouts organizations. They must have got their gear and uniforms from somewhere, even if just made at home. Have you looked into that?
as they always say the devil is in the details. We get down to minor items, change, watches, pocket items. The more period correct items you have the more believable to the public you become, and know what you have and how to use and explain these items.
That's what its all about: being believable so that there's a suspension of disbelief and they become more receptive to the History. Been meaning to ask, did you recently send me an FB Friend Request? I got one and wasn't sure it was you.
'Twas a fight I shall always remember. Nip and tuck there for a while but in the end I was able to distract it with a piece of rutabaga I had in my musette. So instead of rutabaga soup that night, I dined on leg of jackalope. I have scars to prove it. Thanks for watching!
👍 Excellent explanation of terms. While I sincerely dislike acronyms, I must admit that I will probably be a perennial FARBie. 😳 🤷🏻♂️ But, do appreciate the dedication of those who fully immerse themselves into experiential archeology.
Farb is one of those terms that gets thrown around a bit too loosely if one's goal is to grow the hobby and mentor new folks. As far as Vintage Camping goes, safety takes precedence over authenticity. The important thing to me is (1) to get folks out into the woods (2) use old stuff as a means to understand how better to use the new stuff.
I'm enjoying this series. I loved how you showed the differences too. I was a Star Trek eye candy person in two clubs (Starfleet and Klingons/others). We had the uniforms, persona, knew the tech and spoke as if we lived in the society we protrayed in the ST genre. In these groups we also had true enactors of Civil War, Colonial, and other history. (I live just down from Jamestown.) So I got to see both sides and you are doing very well explaining all of this in these vids. Thanks. Take Care and Stay Safe.
Thanks for watching! Yah, any study of any subject means that you are feeding your brain a good diet. I've got another video on "Living History Philosophy 101" coming out that you may enjoy.
SNAFUS & FUBAR can sometimes be considered as part of the human condition, not just Living History, so they are burdens that must be borne. Thanks for watching!
I still like to say I am an undead historian because they keep me frozen in ice on the Boat I work at.
Well thanks for watching, dead or undead!

I've been eye candy at events and it was fun!
Please note....I was eye candy in the context presented in this video.
And you did a splendid job every time!
Good video. I had fun. God bless. From Glenn CATT in Massachusetts.
Thanks for watching! Glad you had fun.
Happy Saturday. Getting closer to camping weather here in Oklahoma.
I just go back from a splendid weekend in the woods---video coming. Thanks for watching!

I live in Poland. Here classic camping is exotic. I don't have any copy stuff. I must buy in USA or use european originals.
@@CampCraftPL You surely have some great military reenacting. They might help you, maybe?
