If you want to have the repeating form field all UPPERCASE then you can use the \*Upper field switch and if you want it to be lowercase you can use the \*Lower field switch. Thanks for watching!
I have been a trainer for over two decades, including a lot of software training. You should be on Microsoft's payroll. Kudos for taking what seems complicated and making it easy!
Oh, what a wonderful compliment, thank you! I really appreciate your feedback and your kind words. I'm glad you found my videos helpful. Thanks for watching! 😊
This is so helpful! I cannot express how much I needed these videos. I make worksheets for students and being able to type something in just once is a game changer.
Hi Sharon, I just stumbled across your videos. You do a great job breaking down these topics. Excited to view your other videos. As a fellow practitioner in the field of HR these will be highly valuable to me in my role! Thank you so much for creating this content and helping others learn!
Thank you for this video! I've been driving myself crazy with inserting a builidng block that has a form field in it and the formatting was always off when I inserted it. I had changed it to CharFormat already, but didn't know about the trick with formatting the "R" in "Ref". Thank you!
Hi Sharon. Loving your concise & easy to follow instructions. Can you make a video showing how to use the IF function in Word? So, for example, depending on a subject selected in a dropdown menu, different prices and locations will auto fill in a connected letter. Thanks.
Hi Suzanne! Thank you for watching my videos! Great question and luckily I do have a video on this very topic: ruclips.net/video/UEHeTuv5tG0/видео.html Hope you find this helpful! Thanks again for watching!
Hey Sharon, I am looking to create a drop down menu in word that repeats at certain points in the document. I want all of the repeated parts to automatically update when the original is changed. Is this possible? Thank you so much!
Hi Sharon, thank you so much for putting this easy to understand video tutorial. It's going to be great to add some automation to my documents. One question I was hoping you may know the answer to... when I first tried using the quick parts, the fields wouldn't update at all even ensuring I was in protected mode, with fillable forms enabled, and hitting tab. I then found a trick that if you hit control P to print, it updates. Something happened and now *some* of my fields update when hitting tab like your demonstrations, but not all of them. And they are all linked together. I am using Date Picker Content Control in other parts of the document, but wouldn't think that would interfere. Any thoughts of why my linked field boxes aren't all updating when tabbing, only when hitting control print? Thanks in advance!
Hi Brandon! Glad you found my videos helpful. Offhand, I'd have to test to see why that is happening, but I do not recommend using a combination of legacy fields and content controls as in my experience this can cause the form not to work as desired/expected. Unfortunately there are some limitations with Microsoft Word that have not been solved or enhanced yet. Good luck with your form - and thanks for watching my Channel!
Hi, Sharon! Thank you for your very useful videos. I have a problem, when I write several words in the field, only one is how it should be, the rest of them are smaller/bigger or bold/non-bolded. Is driving me crazy... thank you for all your work!
Hi Sharon. Love your videos. They are brilliant and so easy to follow. Just a quick question, I can't seem to add the \*Charformat to a REF field if it appears in a IF string? Is that possible? Thank you.
Hi Simon! Thanks so much for watching my videos. I have not tried that before so would have to test it out. There are some limitations on what can be done in Word. If I learn more on this I'll let you know. Thanks!
Sharon would you please explain how to change format of a repeating form field to uppercase or lowercase?. And also wanted to ask you about the possibility of converting numbers from a repeating form field to letters
Hi Agustina! You can use a different field switch than we covered in this video. For upper case use: \*Upper and for lower case use: \*Lower. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching my videos!
What do I do if I can't get the F9 to work - on my keyboard it autocontrols the volume control... is there something similar as in the form creation where you can use the Insert-> Quick Parts -> Field?

Do you have to use Legacy tools to do this? Can a “modern” drop down be referenced or bookmarked like this?
Holy smokes! Thanks.
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Sharon, please make a video on the field reference. Explain all fields on how to use them.
