💛💚🖤 #1 Jamaican supporter reporting for duty! Thank you for reacting to this one fam! There is so much to see, do and feel in Jamaica outside of the major tourist areas, the roads aren't the best but when you get there its magical. The thing looking like cornbread is a festival (fried cornmeal dumpling). We rafting is super safe and they do have bigger rafts. The eastern parishes of St Mary and Portland are actually the top spot for celebrities. Nuff love, One love always!
I can see that you guys love ❤️ us Jamaicans. Can’t wait for you to visit. That little bread like food you saw that looks like corn bread is actually a called fried dumpling, it’s made of simply flour, salt and baking power and deep fried 😊
I would suggest you link up with some of the local vloggers so they can enhance your experience and show you some of the off the beaten path experiences.
Under the radar: 1. Milk River Bath Spa in Clarendon. The most radioactive spa in the world. 2. YS Falls in St. Elizabeth 3. The Black River Safari in St Elizabeth 4. Accompong - a Maroon (indigenous people's) town in St Elizabeth 5. Rasta Camp in St Andrew. Rastafarian village in the Blue Mountains. 6. White Marl Arawak Museum in St Catherine 7. The museum at Emancipation Square in Spanish Town...the old Spanish capital.
The song is "HORACE ANDY - See A Man's Face" ... Its waaaaay before my time but Horace is legend. He did a NPR Tiny Desk concert recently. Yall were listening some old time reggae in that car..🤣🤣
If you're coming to Jamaica and wanna experience the local side to our country I would suggest hooking up with one or two of our many youtubers here to experience the real 🇯🇲. Plus you would get great contents while you're at it. In addition you would get first hand experiences of the do's and dont's (which every country has).
You can see a mans face but you cant see his heart Yea dem have some evilous thoughts Dem badmind ways can tear u apart 18:30 Thank u guys for making an effort to connect with our culture. We jamaicans love that
The ‘rice and peas’ is so called because historically Jamaicans used to use mainly ‘gungo peas’ (aka pigeon peas). Nowadays they also use mainly kidney beans and sometimes they also use black eyed peas, but the dish is still called ‘rice and peas’ regardless of which ‘peas’ they use!
Please make sure u visit portland. Safest place on the island. And actually the first place for cruise ship in jamaica.. beautiful rivers and beaches. Untouch, unspoiled piece of ja
Search TripAdvisor or other sites & find a reputable driver. Our last time in Jamaica we hired a local guy.. he picked us up at 8am & we didn't get back to our resort unti afterl 2am. Took us in land to the all the local spots. water falls that tourists probably never see, local food spots, his home, street party in some little town.
our motto is "out of many one people" meaning "out of many we are one," because we aren't just of African descent, we also have Chinese, Indian, European, etc ancestries
That’s far from it, it has nothing to do with race but instead ethnicity and culture. Even within the African descendants, it comprises of different west African tribes and ethnic groups. Jamaica is 90% African and the DNA ain’t diluted either.
Veganism is not that strange to Jamaica theres a percentage of rastafarians that indulge in the practice. It is called ITAL ( pronounced I-TAL). It came about from the Indian indentured workers sharing some of their Hindu practices with the African slaves many of Rastafarian practices are closely related to Hindu practices example smoking of ganja for penance or sacrament. Ganja is a Hindu word many of the indentured workers brought Hindu high priest with them that had dreadlocks and brought ganja seeds with them and they would smoke it as part of their rituals.
The only thing Idians gave Rastas is the herb, or canibis as you would call it, but the word Ital was created by Rastas, and the recipes are also created by them
Please make sure you guys link with DrizzyBurke WalkingTV he is a famous RUclipsr in Jamaica and they will take you to safe places that tourist would not typically visit. please be safe and enjoy 🇯🇲 Will welcome you.. 🥰🙏🙏🙏
I went to Jamaica, Haiti , Nassau with my mom, sister (for her 18th and graduation) and my sister's best friend back in 1980. Beautiful land, but so impoverished. Then and now I can still remember (I was 15 then) the people, the little kids attempting to sell what they could at the dock and on the roads of their villages . . . we bought as much we were able. I'm crying right now for the people and families and for those they've lost. I could've had a rich lifestyle but I don't. My son's, my sister and our mom (two brain surgeries later) are healthy and for those things, I am thankful. I know that I'm unloading on you. I am truly thankful for having place to sleep. I wish everyone had a somewhat warm, at the very least, place to sleep and at least one meal in their bellies per day and access to a doctor.
Jamaica is nothing like when you visited in the 80s hospitals being constructed all over the island new police and fire stations being built all over the island highrise buildings going up in Kingston, montego bay the government is committed to building 70000 housing solutions to eradicate the substandard living in Jamaica 20000 of those are under construction as we speak the government is giving away 20 homes per month to the most in need jamaicans two major highways are under construction as we speak the Kingston wharf is under massive construction to facilitate global trade as Jamaica makes its push to become a global trade center because of its strategic location in the middle of the Americas 8000 hotel rooms are currently under construction including a hardrock hotel and casino consists of 2000 rooms another casino is being constructed in green island Westmoreland also bringing 2000 rooms to the tourism sector just last week ground was broken to construct a drydock for ship repair in Jamaica this will be massive for the economy the montego bay airport is also undertaken a massive expansion plan Jamaica will in the very near future construct a global cargo and passenger aerotrapolis that'll be bigger than the Kennedy international airport in new York Jamaica is implementing 16 special economic zones across the country to give special incentives to businesses on the fight on crime in Jamaica the government acquired over the last 5 years 4 huge long range patrol vessels to better protect Jamaica border 6 bell helicopters and a long range spy plane the police force has been modernize with modern technology to better fight crime and that's just a short list of what's really going on in Jamaica the best is yet to come so stay tuned...have a great day.

Red beans and rice in Jamaica is called stew peas and rice. Thats more of a match.
The water isn't deep or dangerous. Look at Ling &Lamb's video how Lamb hopped off into the water to get to the jerk chicken vendor at the riverbank! 😂

the exchange rate is worst at the airport... you get better rates at the ATM

Because you are not use to that way of life doesn't mean that the people are impoverished.
