hey all, thanks again for the support on this new venture! the first three videos here will be videos featured on the channel. I figured I'd start with this operatic gem from Jojo. Gorgeous stuff. Is there anything similar in anime?
I think there's some opera in the made in abyss soundtracks, "transcendence and hanazeve" I'm certain, and "rumble of scientific triumph", I don't know if this one's considered opera or not, but the former I think has opera singing for sure
"Bye Bye Earth" was recently adapted as an anime and both its fantasy world and music (Kevin Penkin!) is very much opera-esque, or at least I percieve it as such. (I feel like anything by Kevin Penkin would work though. See his Soundtrack for the newer Spice and Wolf, Apothecary Diaries etc.)
I've been listening to Avalon for the past couple days. Tomoheno Message, Murasakino Ibara, Ketsui, and others have been in my playlist since I watched the show. Edit: I don't know them by those names, rather by the events... but spoilers.
I appreciate (honest) react channels, but some moments should be watched privately the first time. I watched a different anime with my brother-in-law. When a certain character died I started tearing up... then the bastard cracked a joke! Don't get me wrong, I love the guy, but that was insensitive.
Shiro Sagisu has made a lot of epic opera-esque tracks for series like Evangelion, Bleach and Berserk. Some tracks you might like: Bleach - "Cometh the hour pt. B", "Treachery" and "Invasion". Berserk - "Hundred Years War", "My Brother" and "The Wrath of God (part 2)" Evangelion - "Fate", "The Wrath of God in All its Fury" and "The Final Decision We All Must Take" But really Shiro Sagisu is a rabbit hole you can spend several days looking through everything hes done.
I’m so happy you decided to do this additional channel, Marco. I even got my mom to start watching your videos. She loves how informative and passionate you are and thinks your voice is incredible. I pray for immense success on both your channels! Cheers to the future!
Now that you are reacting to anime music I can finally recomend "Requiem of Silence" from Re:Zero. It's an incredible piece that influenced the decisions of the director of the anime to change how the episode would play out just so that it would sync to the song.
Now since I have been recommending Frieren: Beyond Journey's End OST, its time to recommend specific ones. First off, the main theme Journey of a Lifetime. The second one, Where the Blue-Moon Weed Grows will be a good one to react to after that preferably in the same video since the motif of the show is evident. The last one is Zoltraak which plays during a fight scene. I tried not explaining too much so you can enjoy them on your own when you get to them.
Of course the journey begins with a piece of opera (and from jojo!). Such a delight hearing you singing it. It such an emotional piece that heightens 10x the scene where is used. (SHIZAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! 😭)
"Transcendance and Hanazeve" by Kevin Penkin from Made in Abyss I can't really recommend the anime but the music that Kevin made for it is some of the most mesmerizing, emotional music I've ever listened to, this piece also has an opera segment if I remember correctly so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it! Other pieces I recommend from Made in Abyss are "VOH" and "Hanazewe Caradhina", also by Kevin Penkin.
So grateful that you've reviewed this tearjerker that carries an entire scene and punctuates such a hard hitting moment. It's awesome to see someone in your field break it down too. Please consider checking out "Canta per me" from Noir, it's arranged really well. Thank you 💚
I really appreciate you covering JoJo! They have lots of amazing tracks throughout all the series. On another note, I'd love to see you check out Shiro Sagisu and his works as they have themes I believe you'd be interested in!
My world! This was such a treat! I never watched Jojo so I didn't know about this opera either. But gosh. Hearing it and hearing YOU singing it as well was so beautiful! Thank you for the little concert, Marco! I felt it go through my soul and I got teary eyed May you be happy and healthy, brother
Marco! Man! What a letter of introduction you have made for yourself and the people who navigate this space called RUclips! Jojo's anime is full of great songs (be it the opening, endings or the character or situation themes) Seeing your particular and remarkable way of reacting, appreciating and dissecting themes that you have from your background as an opera singer, I hope you can soon dissect Jojo's opening/ending songs little by little, part by part, slowly in your own words and music wise background I see a good future in the short, medium and long term here, keep it up Marco! Positive reinforcement is always good
Glad to be here when this channel is still young. Fantastic reaction and analysis. Showing your passion for your craft in opera and this piece from a fantastic anime.
I think you chose the perfect start because you are well versed in the topic, you are interesting to listen to, the music is from a very memorable moment, and the franchise is loved by many. This intersection gives the formula for the perfect roller.
Heya Mr WeebBall! I *pray* that you’ll notice this cause I’d like suggest Probably my favourite anime Composer out there. His name is Kevin Penkin. And he’s made a huge amount of absolutely gorgeous music. I recommend: “Transcendence and Hanezeve” one of my favourite works by him!
It's good that you paid attention to this topic. Firstly, it's hyped, secondly, there is really good and emotional music there. If you need anime compositions for reaction, here are some interesting options from me from dif anime with a bit context: "Naruto" is a cult anime with a cult soundtrack 1. Toshiro Masuda - Sadness And Sorrow. Usually plays when the main character-orphan experiences an acute feeling of loneliness and misunderstanding by peers who have family and friends. 2. Toshiro Masuda - Orochimaru No Theme. The theme of one of the best anime villains of the 2000s. 3. Takanashi Yasuharu - Senya. The theme of a deep character acting in the darkness to serve the light. 4. Takanashi Yasuharu - Akatsuki. The theme of one of the most popular groups of villains from the 2000s. I still get goosebumps and a feeling of tension from their presence in the frame 5. Takanashi Yasuharu - Keisei Gyakuten. Drive and battle 6. Takanashi Yasuharu - Utsusemi. When you see death and can't do anything "Death Note". A classic detective anime with a wonderful, memorable soundtrack. And overall, the soundtrack of this anime can easily fit into your everyday playlist. 1. Taniuchi Hideki - L's Theme. The theme of our brilliant detective during which we have hope for his ideas. Cult melody. 2. Taniuchi Hideki - Near no Theme. 3. Taniuchi Hideki - Light no Theme. "Re:Zero". The main character can return in time after death. 1. Kenichiro Suehiro - Requiem Of Silence. If the rest of the soundtrack of this anime is rather average, then this one touches the heart. It plays when the hero gets into a hopeless situation even with his ability, dying over and over again and returning he can't change anything and, completely desperate, just walks through the ruins with the body of his beloved in his arms. "Demon Slayer". A young anime that has attracted many fans thanks to its visual style and battle design. Synthesis of electronic music and Japanese motifs. Finding the original soundtrack might be a bit tricky, but I'll add it to the list just in case. You can use Samuel Kim's versions. 1. Demon Slayer: Rengoku Theme/Rengoku's final fight. The theme of an unbending man of duty with a fiery heart. 2. Tengen vs Gyutaro Final Fight Theme. When all was lost, reinforcements arrived in time. 3. Demon Slayer | Infinity Castle Theme. It was a trap and we have nowhere to run but we are ready
JoJo is so much beyond just a manga and an anime it's kinda nuts. I recommend "Thunderbolt for Main Theme" from the anime Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt. It jazz. Lotsa jazz in Gundam Thunterbolt, great anime too. And also "UNICORN" from the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn anime. And, and. AAAAA. I'm so glad you made this. Thanks Marco, keep being awesome.
Great choice for the first video!!! It's so cool to get an informed perspective on a song I've enjoyed so many times before on just a surface level. If I were to make a recommendation, I'd suggest 1144 Fob 02 2023 (weird name I know) by Shiro Sagisu, composer behind stuff like Neon Genesis Evangelion. There's also 1144 Fob 02 CH 2023 Guitar Finish which is kind of a variation on the same song but it does some INSANELY cool stuff with an industrial soundscape and weird freaky sound mixing. But the former one i mentioned has much clearer vocals without any crazy distortion or stuttering.
MAAARCO!!! KEEP POSTING ANIME MUSIC, AND MY LIFE IS YOURS!! But for real tho, this channel about to be great, i know it will! Also one of my recommendations is "Requiem of Silence" from Re:Zero, pretty emotional soundtrack!
i think my recommendation is niche as hell, but i love this piece with all my heart. etoile et toi (edition le blanc) is the closing theme song of the Kizumonogatari film trilogy. it's an original piece written in a way that would make it fit like a glove in some orchestra hall and nobody could tell that it's from a silly anime about vampires. there are 3 editions: standard, black and white, all three being played at the end of 3 different films, and each has it's own feeling attached. lyrics sung in french are being referenced in other OST, making this piece really special at the credits scene.
I'm seated and ready to fully support your journey here on the second channel! Super happy you'll be diving into the lucrative and imaginative world of anime music!
Just so happened to be rewatching jojo part 2 where this plays awesome timing ngl Also just a fun fact there is one character who speaks actual italian in one of the openings. It's not really a part of the song sadly no spoilers though
I would suggest checking out some HxH ost, they are very inspired by classical music some of them are: Elegy of the Dynast, The Last Mission, Requiem Aranea, Riot and Into the Palace ~ Lamentoso. You are in for a plethora of fantastic soundtrack with animes Marco!
Okay but no one talks about the amazing opera piece from Escaflowne - Arcadia by the legendary Yoko Kano. It sounds so raw and beautiful. It would be amazing to see you react to it!! That whole OST is phenomenal. Dance of Curse, Memory of Fanelia, Wings, Sora from the movie OST.
Man, Marco you HAVE to react to Shiro Sagisu’s music. He is one of my all time favorite composers. My personal favorites are his works from the Evangelion rebuild movies, and he also has spectacular soundtracks for Berserk and Bleach. Put simply, I’ve listened to every single piece he’s put out because his music is simply fantastic. Looking forward to the content on this channel!
Feels nice to witness the beginnings of this new channel. I'm looking forward to your unique perspective on some cool anime music! As a recommendation maybe; Trisha's Lullaby or Lapis Philosophorum from FMAB? Perhaps the music by Shiro Sagisu from the Ramiel fight from the Evangelion movie? Very epic and plenty popular :^)
I honestly expected you to start with something like Attack of Titan, but I guess you’ve technically done that before. But Im extremely GLAD we’re starting things off with Jojos I definitely recommend checking out the music of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. One of my favorite tracks is Trisha’s Lullaby
Hey! Usually not commenting much, but wanted to help out the video. Love you're starting this! Much appreciation. A small recommendation from me personally would be Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss, Tower of God). Yuki Kajiura and Shiro Sagisu might also be great for you! Hope you enjoy your anime music journey
while loving games and its music and the vids about them, but from now on this channel will be the one i look forward to more of the stuff on this channel
Hey Marco, I loved this first video, I really like how you played to your strengths with this beautiful opera piece. I still don't know how you're going to take requests, but I imagine you're gonna want to find some underrated gems too just like in your game channel. And I wanted to recommend, not necessarily to do a video, but the Aria the animation soundtrack, its my personal favorite and it has a lot of foreign inspirations, specially from brazillian bossa nova and mpb. Hope everything goes well! Cheer my friend!
I'm extremely excited about this channel because the same way I feel about VGM I also vehemently feel for some anime ost. "Date et Dabitur Vobis" by TechnoBoys Pulcraft is a random tracks in a ecchi romcom anime but it has one of the most beautiful violins I've heard in an OST. I wish I could shake the players hand, that type of feeling. Kevin Penkin and Evan Call both mastered composing music to make me crumble and cry like a 3 year old. "Beyond the Journeys End" and any Made in Abyss album are great examples.
I've been waiting for you to cover anime in a loooong time. Would love to see Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood or The World God Only Knows get covered, those shows have some amazing pieces of music.
An absolute classic. Even though I already watched it on the main channel, it's such a beautiful piece that I'll give the whole video another go to celebrate the second channel.
I suggest you Try Music by Kevin Penkin. He's one of the most well known and appreciated composers in the anime industry. personally i suggest his song: ''VOH''
Man I hope that you react to all the character themes from part V to see if you can tell what a character is like from just their theme. Fugo's really captures his character
SHIZAAAAAA. This song makes me cry haha 🥲. It's really cool to see you listen to this side of music! It's weird thinking about how many anime songs wind up on my playlists at this point. Battle Tendency really had an incredible OST as well. Most of the Jojo series has some good songs but I think for me at least the top 2 are Battle Tendency and DiU.
Immediately, when i saw the post for the channel, i wondered how long it would take for Jojo to be featured. I might be wrong but i feel like in anime there's a lot less "classical" music than in video games, so i'm looking forward to see your opinion on songs with a more modern feel
Such an amazing song indeed, your singing was lovely to hear as well. Here are some composer recommendations that most might not recommend: Kenichiro Suehiro Go Sakabe Satoru Kōsaki Masaru Yokoyama Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund
Im very excited to see what you post on this channel. The only song i can think of off the top of my head is Might+U from my hero academia, but I'm unsure what kind of music you're looking for considering this is a pretty new channel.
Absolutely love Jojo! Also, there's lots of very famous classical music in the Legend of the Galactic Heroes , the original one. I highly recommend that anime, it's a masterpiece, the original one that is, watch that instead of the new one.
...Oh! Magnetic Rose! I just remembered - it's one of the three shorts of Memories (1995). It samples music from a couple of operas, and has some music composed by Yoko Kanno.
hey all, thanks again for the support on this new venture! the first three videos here will be videos featured on the channel. I figured I'd start with this operatic gem from Jojo. Gorgeous stuff. Is there anything similar in anime?
btw i hope you put an image for ur pfp because i think it would help people realise that its actually your channel, me included😅
I think there's some opera in the made in abyss soundtracks, "transcendence and hanazeve" I'm certain, and "rumble of scientific triumph", I don't know if this one's considered opera or not, but the former I think has opera singing for sure

yes please , think on every vid or subject about this weeby channel asked for him too, need him that bad
Also Shin Godzilla, less weeb per se, but music he’d enjoy for sure
This channel will be a ride! Thanks for giving a chance to anime music!
lets see where it goes!
The fact that the first video is JoJo's related... this is so peak
SHIZAAAAAA
As an italian jojo fan, this is three times more beautiful than it already is
You singing along made this reaction so much better thank you.
This one goes out for my homie Ceasar, your sacrifice will never be forgotten.

All of the JoJo animes have insanely good soundracks, but the sheer insane variety in Part 2 is just something else.
It's good that you paid attention to this topic. Firstly, it's hyped, secondly, there is really good and emotional music there. If you need anime compositions for reaction, here are some interesting options from me from dif anime with a bit context:

An absolute classic. Even though I already watched it on the main channel, it's such a beautiful piece that I'll give the whole video another go to celebrate the second channel.
Aw 😮💨🙏
didn't know i wanted this until i saw the title.
Ready for this adventure B)
me too!
I immediately subscribed! Looking forward to one day you would cover made in abyss music!
Awesome, let's push the channel
I suggest you Try Music by Kevin Penkin. He's one of the most well known and appreciated composers in the anime industry. personally i suggest his song: ''VOH''
i simply must suggest Music by Kevin Penkin. His Soundtrack for ''Made in Abyss'' is truly one of a kind.
My suggestions:
Frieren - Zoltraak
Puella Magi Madoka Magica - Sis Puella Magica
Kill la Kill - Blumenkranz
I know there’s a lot of j-pop ofc. I’ve listened to some!
Such an amazing song indeed, your singing was lovely to hear as well. Here are some composer recommendations that most might not recommend:
Kenichiro Suehiro
Go Sakabe
Satoru Kōsaki
Masaru Yokoyama
Technoboys Pulcraft Green-Fund
I can see the scene in my head when I hear this song.
Im very excited to see what you post on this channel. The only song i can think of off the top of my head is Might+U from my hero academia, but I'm unsure what kind of music you're looking for considering this is a pretty new channel.
I’m gonna be pretty methodical about what goes on here just to be extremely cautious. I’m a bit paranoid about it but excited.
We made it guys we got him to listen to anime
tbf i had already listened to this.
Absolutely love Jojo!
Also, there's lots of very famous classical music in the Legend of the Galactic Heroes , the original one. I highly recommend that anime, it's a masterpiece, the original one that is, watch that instead of the new one.
Amazing first reaction. Hoping for something from Kara no Kyoukai in the future.
YESSSS ITS FINALLY STARTING!!!!
let it be known i was the 34th sub on this channel, im making history
Still hitting every note shows how experienced you are with your singing 7:55
Yayy that was quite fast
ya these first 3 will be quick!
L'accento è troppo buono, sei palesemente italiano ahahah 😁
...Oh! Magnetic Rose! I just remembered - it's one of the three shorts of Memories (1995). It samples music from a couple of operas, and has some music composed by Yoko Kanno.
"Lisa Lisa-sensei, your cigarette... is backwards"
Jojo being the intro to the channel is 🔥
Hoping to see you reacting to Black Rock Shooter OST one day
Marco just casually triggering JOJO fans’ ptsd
