    Most of the dolls (not all) were made for the "collector" market. I call them "forced collectibles". Mattel did that with Barbies, Hot Wheels; Hallmark with ornaments done in a series; Hummels. They were made in mass quantities and you weren't considered a collector if you didn't buy the whole series. Now----people are trying to sell their collections and are shocked to see they aren't worth what they put into them. Beanie Babies, collector plates to hang, Ertl Farm Toys. Yes, some exceptions to the rule but very few. Some of the items you show have a tinty value but the dolls--Beanie Babies, Lenox spice containers, Dept 56 Snow Babies, on and on. They all had a hand in making a "collector" mark with promises of ROI (return on investment). Not happin'.

  • @Rebecca-zp4gm

    On the wood bits - maybe they had a shop selling them. On the beanie babies - it’s the rare ones like the pink octopus and older ones. The flamingo one is very pink and called pinky. Can’t u adopt them all?

  • @tammydaniels170
    @tammydaniels170 Год назад +2

    I was curious as well so I researched a bit. The Beanie Babies that are worth the most money are Princess the Bear, Bubbles the Fish, and Piccadilly Attic. Original Beanie Babies that have been retired are worth the most. They also have tags and are in good to mint condition

    • @trudymcewen9801
      @trudymcewen9801 Год назад +2

      Tammy, I had both the original princess PVC and the 25 dollar one. I did research and the Indonesia princess Diana is the most valuable. I could not sell them so gave them away. People only pay if they want something. My Teddy Bears were more valuable not Beanie Babies.

    When I worked at Hallmark people were investing in Beanie Baby collections. I told them do not do it, they would be worthless. Stuffed toys are not collectible only expensive one of a kind, artist toys, Steiff and fur bears which I have but gave a lot away. People only pay if they want something. I am a collector of many valuable collections and one day they will be sold for next to nothing just so they get a good home. Collect what you live, not for money.

    All those dolls. 🙄 They're a tough sell. It's gonna be hard for them to sell even a quarter of them. The boxed porcelain ones (although very pretty) are a dime a dozen in many thrift stores. (There's the really cheaply made ones trying to look expensive and then there are some really well-made ones by brands like Gorham, but no matter...they're gonna sit there on the shelf for a long time.) Unless dolls are true antiques (and there are LOTS of "reproductions" out there,) or a very collectible brand or line within a brand, they just don't move. It's a good idea for anyone considering purchasing dolls for resale to study up on them before making a significant purchase. But if you just love the dolls for your own personal collection, you've got a lot to choose from. On the other hand, all sorts of plush seem to be enjoying an uptick in sales!

    There is a company that manufacturers all walnut bowls and this may be part of that company.
    Also a young lady who started her own business, making cutting board and she may expanded.
    This was an extraordinary sale. Looks like a manufacturer's inventory sale.
