The community time project it's the best. Just saved my life, it's really tedious and unrealistic that the game don't manage the time when they leave a residential lot.
Now that I have the Sims Ultimate Collection and the mods recommended here I am ready to play as I used to when I was a kid, thanks Pixu!!! you don't have Idea of how much you improved so many people's lives with these videos!

Very good mods, i remember when TS2 came out i was only 16 and i still play to this day because i just love this game so much, keeps me away from depression and sadness, i can control people and with the mods the gameplay is just so much better also, i really have love for this game ok i like TS3 and TS4 (during the pandemic i played TS3 a lot) but TS2 is my favorite.
I feel like it doesn't have to be said but deleting sims from the sim bin won't cause corruption. It only unlinks the sim, unlinking the sim removes the sim but leaves a "stub" to prevent another sim for having their information because every sim has a unique ID and if a sim is improperly removed externally, it can lead to quirks in the new sim that gets their ID. (Taking place in the old sim's family tree/memories that were related to that sim, toddlers having aspirations, etc.) I feel like you may already know but I wanted to leave a comment for future viewers. Also, basically all Simler90's mods are extremely useful.
How differently we think. I LOVE the Downtown Time Warp! Love it, love it, LOVE IT! However, I'm really glad that the mod exists to allow people who don't like it to have that time balancing progression. Oh, how does it work with vacations? Are they away from home for the whole week?

Great video, thank you. I think for "Use Inaccessible Beds (3rd):" like is not correct, it takes me to the same page with don't walk away while cooking. I think it should be the page with the alarm clock mod, that's where I found it. I'm kinda casually getting back into TS2, I wish I knew all of this when I played the game as a kid :D

Update: I appreciate all the TS2 players and all their help over the last year or so. I have gotten so much help and am further than I had ever thought I'd be. Most of these are working well for me, the only thing I have an issue with is the UI mod making all of the buy mode items so small! The text is quite small as well. I have to learn forward and squint at the screen almost constantly!
how is baby chooser last name work for you it didn’t work for me it kept bugging my pregnancy and won’t let my sim give birth so i had to get rid of it and is semester change working for you too
Doesn't work I downloaded the community mod and had my sim leave to go to the plaza and she came back at the exact same time that she left plus their is a little warning sign next to the mod before the main menu is pulled up

As always, great video :) Until now, I have played TS2 without mod and tried to avoid them (because in TS3 I had the NRass and I have very bad memories of mods in this game lol). But #1 and #28 of your list seem *really* intresting! So I think I will get them :) I have few questions though: Do mods slow the game or make it glitches (again, this is my Sims 3 trauma haha) ? And if I'm not satisfied with my mods, is it simple to remove them? I mean just like a normal CC object? (Because for exemple, I know that if you want to delete a custom career or custom food, it is a little bit tideous, you shouldn't simply delete from the download file... ) Again thank you very much :)
glad i was able to inspire you to get them! :) most sims 2 mods are really simple and small, and safe and easy to remove! there are some exceptions, like you say, custom foods and careers, and bigger mods like ACR. but i think all the mods in this list should be just put in-take out, so don't be afraid! also, in my experience they do not slow down the game, it's just if you have loads of mods and cc the game will take longer to start up. and glitches - they can cause glitches if they conflict with each other, but i use all these mods and these surely don't conflict with each other, as far as i know!
Somebody please help me I'm having trouble I have Sims on my MacBook Air and I don't know how to increase the lot size I go into the lot where the house is I tried right clicking and dragging from the corner of the lot and it didn't work
So question about that community time mod, what happens if a sim goes away to university? When they return do they still time travel or are you able to simulate however many days they were gone?
Happy to answer as no one has! In the original CBoy version, Uni caused problems. His mod edited the time passing on campus as well, so a student would return to the dorm at the correct time with the appropriate number of hours till their next exam. However, the time ‘built up’ and didn’t actually come into effect until the student tried to come back home, so students wouldn’t return for several days once you tried to move them back in to the main hood. But with Chris Hatch’s edited and updated version (the one linked in the description), this doesn’t happen! When ‘normal’ Sims go to a community lot, time at home is also counted and they won’t return until the correct time. However, university time works the way it did in the game itself - if a student goes to a campus community lot, the time until his next exam will continue to pass for him anyway. If he then returns to the dorm, the time on the clock will reset, but he will have less time until the next exam. Hope that makes sense! You can use CBoy’s if you prefer it, but it does cause issues!
it handles time a bit differently, and the community time mod matches my usual gameplay style best - but yeah story progression is cool and fun for certain kinds of gameplay! it’s good if you want more sims 3/4 style time management.
After enabling mods and restarting should there still be a yellow triangle with an exclamation point beside each mod name at startup? I was wondering if there is a trick to load order? Some of them definitely aren't working, I'm not sure if any are. and thanks for all these videos! they were a great help in downloading the game
There definitely is some sign at a pop up menu (box of cc list)! That is the kind of warning the game gave to alert the player that it can modify the base UI and that's what we want so, it's a must that they show up! Oh and some mods doesn't work due to out-of-date or wrong installation
yeah, that's just the mod dialog, you need to choose enable mods when it comes up. if you want to, you can turn it off in the game menu (not the mods, but the dialog to come up every time)

haha that's a lot of hairs and i sure couldn't tell you the exact name of them BUT luckily for you they're all from the same place: nhs-archive.tumblr.com/ this tumblr site has all hairs that have been made in the New Hair System, which is my favourite hair texture/colour system for the sims 2. pretty much all of my cc hair is from here and i think i just went and looked through all posts and downloaded all the hairs i liked
about "EP CHECK": I've had problems with some mods like Job Stopinator and EdukashunIsGud, when I didn't have ep check. Installing it is the same as the other mods? just extract it and put it in the Downloads folder?
which mod is this? bc community time only has one version! if you're thinking about build and buy enabler (12:04), you should use the BV version of that

the game has one by default, but it's far less "smart" and useful than this modded one!
