Could you please make a video about the sony ax53? I know it's not new or anything, but I feel like it's the only camera for everyday with really good stabilization (without any gimbals etc) (which is also lightweight) Would love to see your take on it!
*It's a Nice Try By Sony but The ZV-1 was I think designed to be compact and easy to carry. It's an All in one that has 4K Capabilities that easily fits in the Pocket. This is no longer compact and if you decide to get more lens it will cost as much as just getting the a6400 *
A 45% crop when using active stabilization? Okay, so you start with a 1.5x crop because it's APS-C, but then you add another 45% on top of that. You might as well be using Micro Four Thirds at that point, and those will give you better stabilization.
@@radialbladeworks6183 Though there are some m4t cameras that crops a lot too like the Panasonic GX9 and G100 (when in 4k). So careful with the choice.

The best Sony review out here! So honest, without these fake laudatory words like you hear from the bloggers who got this camera for free all the time!
@@TTWGD3 From a vlogging point of view, I'd rather go with Sony, even though I have a few Canon APS-C lens's which could easily be adapted for the M50, I'd rather buy into Sony's eco-system because of Canon's practice of crippling features in every camera unless you buy their top of the range model, its not clever marketing because people look for better options and it made me jump ship for good. Even though the M50 has a better user experience, navigation and menu system, Sony will be the better choice for 4K. Sony's lens's are pricey so look at third party options. In the end I went with micro 4/3 and can adapt all my lenses to that.
As far as Canon vs Sony colour science goes.. put a super model in front of a Sony camera and a pig with lipstick in front of a Canon camera, the results may surprise you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, both are attractive in a subjective way.. The Sony would win with me because I like looking at beautiful women and not pigs with lipstick.
Turns out it's the lens that makes it look like a cellphone to me. I would love to see a sigma 16mm 1.4 on it. Probably be the perfect lens for vlogging without breaking the bank.
I've been using this camera for quite a while now, and I was thinking that everything nothing I have ever shot has come out as poorly as the examples in this video. I use the 16mm and 30mm Sigma lenses, but even the kit lens looks better than some of the shots in here. I'm interested in why that is. As for the stabilization, Catalyst Browse does an excellent job of stabilizing handheld footage.
Gimbals are still the best option to stabilize video footage digital stabilization. And then IBIS and/or lens stabilization. It's unfortunately a lot heavier to walk around with a gimbal. The shaky digital stabilization and heavy crop kills it for sure with the ZV-E10.
I jumped over from Nikon to get this as my first Sony. I really wanted this for content creation, something with less hassle and small so my arthritis stops trying to cripple me after a few hours of holding a camera. I have gopro I've been using for some video stuff but it's definitely limited and a dlsr that doesn't have any continuous focus for video which is garbage, thanks Nikon. When deciding between upgrading to mirrorless I had to really sit and think exactly how I want to use it. For me this one checks the boxes with a few additional lenses. But also doesn't have the starting price tag of $2300, like to upgrade to the Nikon z6 ii is what it would be with the lens mount converter, which also loses video quality with F Mount lenses. So... for me, I am happy with my decision to get this one. What I wish is that it had a viewfinder because I am a photographer too and I find the LCD lacking for some photos, but livable. I hope they make a hotshoe viewfinder for this model, that would be something I'd buy. But as is, it's a great option for creating video content if you realize you won't get the quality of the more advanced Sony's but you also get the perks of product showcase focusing which really is a great function.
Kasey's ZV-E10 video was the 1st one to show up in my notifications, but the 7th one I watched. Saving the best for last? No. But it was fun to see Sony treat Kasey like other channels by hooking him up with new hardware knowing full well he would drag their new camera. 😅
So basically it has the same killing issue the ZV-1 had.. its too narrow a field of view to be useful... well unless you spend more than the camera cost on the 10-18mm lens
I gave up on Sony releasing an X4000. It would just kill the sales of the ZV-10. The ZV-10 with the 10-18 is basically an expensive X3000 with slightly more Tone. If I where you, I would pick up an X3000 while you can still get one.

I bought a ZV-1 today, because I still feel even when the features are similar they both are quite different cameras to begin with. The major being that ZV-1 is a pocketable compact camera, and not having to carry around multiple lenses while travelling is a definite plus. Well the APSC sensor might be better than that of a ZV-1, but aren't there better APSC cameras out there. ZV-1 is a star of the 1-inch category, and ZV-E10?? Can't quite say anything close to the best in APSC, maybe best in the price range though.
@@vishnubeji7655 I actually used my ZV1 against my a6300 today in a shaded environment and the ZV1 exposed better in my opinion. My friend has the footage, but I really thought the ZV1 outperformed the 6300. I immediately thought of this video!
@@BillyBusby Okay that gives me some validation for actually sticking with buying the ZV-1 instead of zve-10 or a6000 range. Ofc the APSC will produce better quality image, but to me all I needed was something I can just throw in my bag during travel and not worry about the different heavy lenses I need to carry along. Already excited for the delivery of my zv-1!
Well, we've learned the G Master lens is really good, even on the ZV-E10. Of course, no one buying that camera will put a $1600 USD lens on it. But nice to know you could.
Came back to watch this to check out the two Sony ZV cameras. I realize we need to revisit the dumpsters some day. BTW, your traps and delts were straining quite a bit in this vlog. Ha, "photo mode where nobody should be..."
@@masum_rezaa Good move on Sony, Sigma could have stepped in long ago but I guess they’re not focused on cropsensor anymore. Many of their SLR cropsensor lenses have stopped getting produced recently.
Why don't you try the 10-18 on the A7siii in FF mode, not in APS-C mode? The image circle covers the whole FF area at 14mm normally, + in case it doesn't, active stabe might do the trick since that crops 10% in. Edit: now I see that you tested this in an earlier video, cool!
As I see it, Sony, Panasonic and Cannon have made a pact that if you want 4k at 60fps/50fps then you must purchase their high end range or go without, they have gone as far as they can and can offer nothing more without adding the higher frame rates. Those needing the higher Frame Rates are now forced to switch to the products of DJI, GoPro and their imitators. Even the ZV1 will not give you 60/50fps. So in 2021 it's a choice of being able to zoom while recording OR have 60fps, but not both from the big manufacturers. What this camera offers is little more than the Panasonic Camcorder offers. If your content with Aperture or shutter Priority then the Sony old style Camcorders AX53/43 are as good with much better Stabilization. Oh for a zoomable Osmo Action.
Terrific stuff. Made me laugh lots. Thanks - I'll be getting the ZV-1. It will help me change vlogging forever. Who needs to stare at some guy's face for hours - especially when he's blocking out something interesting or beautiful behind? Vlogging is for narcissists. The new standard will be faceless. Audio/voiceover will still be vital - but talking heads will be consigned to la poubelle. That said, if I HAVE to stare at a talking head, I'll pick yours. Keep up the great work. Remember the new rule: Less Face, More Place.
I have the ZV-E10. Love it with the Sigma 16, 30, and 56 f1.4’s and the 10-18 for going wide. But it does need to be on a G6 Max gimbal and turn that Sony stabe off.
Nice skin color, according with all your videos. Stabilization is great with same parameters! If the photo ability with this camera is similar - same than Sony A6400, will be my next camera!
Cell phones do have something like a virtual shotgun mic, so you can have conversations in noisy places... So you are right, Sony should be able to manage something like that for their vlogging cam.
As much as I sorta hated my experience with the A6100 and had a lot of issues with the A7C, I might have to get this just because it's so affordable and has the features I want. But wow, it looked way worse against the Olympus and the A7S III, even with the same lens. But if I get this + Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8, that's a really versatile tripod camera that can shoot long video for less than the cost of GH5 II or A7C body only, and it doesn't need fancy rigging up like an A6100.
From my experience and an internal camera only on two factors object mode and does not have a lens to put an eye to, outside it is difficult to work with this ... The fuji XT 200 Wins away from home. That was the comparison of this camera in my opinion.
The olympus looked great next to the sony. I think a fairer comparison would be the E-M5 Mark III vs the ZV-E10 though. But holy crap did Sony kill the 1080p on this camera, wow. Was not expecting that.
If that Sony ZV-E10 was better and had viewfinder, I'd buy. I liked those Panasonic Lumix GX series viewfinders, they tilt up, for low down video of birds and stuff, and the GX8, old as it is, had a nice screen that flips out not unlike the ZV-E10's. I like compactness but I'm a picky son of gun. I flirted with olympus, EM1 II, the menus are a bit weird. Smartphones can be hit or miss. Sony APS-C in general, If they mixed A6600 and ZV-E10, then i'd be a happy chimp. I might have said all that before. I know this is an old vid, but it has been helpful for me pondering my options.
I believe that you wouldn't received it, you would trash it way harder. I believe this is like an answer to adress zv-1 weaknesses. But jelly rolling shutter, no High frame rates, no Ibis, active stabe crops as hell that getting to same field of view as zv-1, and isn't as good. Disappointing... x3000 all the way still vlogging standard.
And ZV1 has the wide angle lens adapter so that issue is fixed. Honestly I was disappointed but after finding one for a steal I’m perfectly happy with the ZV1 despite its limitations
Are you using the Rode Wireless Go 2 Microphone ? The Sony Audio mic is better than that Lavalier what you are using imo... the LAv sounds way too muffled.. The natural and clear sound of the sony built un mic is better imo than that Lav you are uisng .
Love the content and just subscribed. No wildlife in this vid, which was a shame. If you were a hobo like me and only had $1000 to buy a camera predominantly for making RUclips videos (not vlogging), which would you buy? Thanks buddy!
"It's lie mode" lol I agree! Loving the a7c and was hoping for a pocket cam upgrade but not thinking this is it. I have the rx100vii, waiting on the viii...
If you were interested in shooting video while hiking, often under the forest canopy in darker situations, what device would you choose? Need to consider low light but also easy work flow for uploading to RUclips. In addition, is there a device with a good enough built-in mic? What about stabilization while hiking? My guess would be either a phone or action camera. Your thoughts?
dji osmo pocket ii go pro 10 m50 (or m6 ii) + canon 11-22 for daytime + sigma 16mm for low light a6400 + adequate lens(es) if you take more photos than videos and for the weather sealing this zv e10 if more video focused and no need for weather sealing I am personally stuck in the ef-m system with the m50 and m6 ii, and a decent set of lenses that cover most of my needs: 11-22, 22, 18-150, sigma 16 and 56. The compact size of the ef-m system (both cameras and lenses) makes it ideal to pack on a hike or travel where you don’t want to carry a bunch of heavy camera gear. The canon app is also excellent to remote control and transfer photos to your mobile phone or tablet on the go. Lovely system for enthusiasts, that doesn’t break the bank. I wish there was an ef-m 100-400 for wildlife or smthg similar to sony 70-350, which is the reason I have been looking hard at Sony apsc cams I have been close to buying sony in recent months for the wide choices in lenses in the E-mount system, but I really don’t like the handling experience of sony apsc cameras. The lack of native long telephoto in ef-m will eventually make me jump out of Canon though… So I think if you don’t mind Sony apsc bodies, I think the E-mount offers too much long term flexibility to get into a dead system like Canon ef-m.
@@luism.2050 Thanks for your thoughts. I did think about the M50. But, I've been focused on getting a new lens for my XT-3 for photography first. I currently have a GoPro Hero 5 Black that I might use to get started. Or, maybe my phone. Thanks again, have a great week.

Interesting. 😊 Any idea when the replacement, updated camera will make its appearance?
was hoping you'd review this and herre it was. amped to watch.
I prefer the ZV-1 great review
First time to watch your vids, I like this kind of review of actually using the unit instead of just presenting it and using a different camera!
there are many funny guys out there, even more wanna be funny guys, but you really rock man
" I've done the math with scientology ". Lol 😂 Amazing wit.
Sigma needs to release a 10mm 1.8 for APS-C 🤞
That would be clutch. Absolute dream lens.
Now you have Sony 10-20mm & 11 mm Sony for APS-C
@@masum_rezaa Good move on Sony, Sigma could have stepped in long ago but I guess they’re not focused on cropsensor anymore. Many of their SLR cropsensor lenses have stopped getting produced recently.
Why don't you try the 10-18 on the A7siii in FF mode, not in APS-C mode? The image circle covers the whole FF area at 14mm normally, + in case it doesn't, active stabe might do the trick since that crops 10% in.
Edit: now I see that you tested this in an earlier video, cool!
All of these RUclipsrs are trynna do vlog for this camera's review, but we know who to watch for 'vlog review' don't we xD
Nice, you and fro knows photos did exactly the same comparison on exactly the same day
How does it compare with Fuji?
First time watching you channel and made me subscribe straight away. Loved it.
Alll I want is the perfect camera 📸 💫💫💫
Wow, that Sony 14mm T1.8 just looks amazing on that ZV-E10, I wonder, did you ever try it on the Sony ZV-1? or could you try it on the latest ZV-E1?
Always watch this channel first (out of 10) 'cos Kasey delivers the truth, even if we can't handle it. Not sure I need the other 9 now.
I have sold my ZV-E10 for new a6700. $700 vs $1400. Worth it?
Had no idea til this video that you're based in Toronto! (the garbage cans and Prince Edward Viaduct gave it away)
Love your vids man!
The review we all need
Damn that P40 looking fireee
I love your reviews because you show yhe true camera as to how it would look in my use lol
From my experience and an internal camera only on two factors object mode and does not have a lens to put an eye to, outside it is difficult to work with this ... The fuji XT 200 Wins away from home. That was the comparison of this camera in my opinion.
old video but Sony's 11mm f1.8 makes this camera a compelling option for vlogging
The olympus looked great next to the sony. I think a fairer comparison would be the E-M5 Mark III vs the ZV-E10 though. But holy crap did Sony kill the 1080p on this camera, wow. Was not expecting that.
I will just get another a5100. I like it better than the newer Sony offerings. I don't shoot 4k, will stick with my old gear.
Yours is the only review I'm going to watch.
He will trash it - wait for six months and we'll get our much awaited boardroom meeting!
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN CAMERA
Just another parts bin camera. Sony ordered WAY to many of those 24mp sensors with hideous rolling shutter. I like the ZV-1 better.
Sony zve10 vs xs10 what would you reccomemd?
thank you for testing about 1080p. man it was awful. Much like gopro in 1080p just out for lunch.
Best review of the zv e10 on YT now. Thanks Casey!
Your thoughts?
iPhone 12 max
compact a5100 with 20mmf2.8 or 18-55f3.5 combo for hiking and lowlight
dji osmo pocket ii
go pro 10
m50 (or m6 ii) + canon 11-22 for daytime + sigma 16mm for low light
a6400 + adequate lens(es) if you take more photos than videos and for the weather sealing
this zv e10 if more video focused and no need for weather sealing
I am personally stuck in the ef-m system with the m50 and m6 ii, and a decent set of lenses that cover most of my needs: 11-22, 22, 18-150, sigma 16 and 56.
I wish there was an ef-m 100-400 for wildlife or smthg similar to sony 70-350, which is the reason I have been looking hard at Sony apsc cams
I have been close to buying sony in recent months for the wide choices in lenses in the E-mount system, but I really don’t like the handling experience of sony apsc cameras. The lack of native long telephoto in ef-m will eventually make me jump out of Canon though…
So I think if you don’t mind Sony apsc bodies, I think the E-mount offers too much long term flexibility to get into a dead system like Canon ef-m.
@@luism.2050 Thanks for your thoughts. I did think about the M50. But, I've been focused on getting a new lens for my XT-3 for photography first. I currently have a GoPro Hero 5 Black that I might use to get started. Or, maybe my phone. Thanks again, have a great week.
are these 2 cameras better at vlogging than DJI Pocket 2?
if youre doing long walks pocket 2 is better its got the best stabilization. zv1 is the next recommended. this zve10 is more of studio sit down camera, the stabilization isnt great and its got rolling shutter.
Damn that 1.8 is awesome on the ZV-E10!
catalyst browse makes it a solid option for vlogging if youre willing to wait 30mins
agreed, for me it's a small price to pay for gimbal like footage...

Is it better than the a6400?
5:56 OMG that Barbie Equine mode lol
finally an a6300 review from CC
