I'm going to have to check that out. You heard what Ken Hensley said a couple of months before he passed away. Lee kerslake was the greatest drummer he ever saw. And Hensley was always a tough critic. He was not the kind of guy That handed out alot of compliments
@@garywolf6436 Conquest album differs from Abominog album completely. Though Hensley is not a star keyboardist like Keith Emerson, he is a great musician.
1970-72: Very 'eavy, Salisbury, Look at, Magician's! Still, 'umble and Salisbury rules! WIYS is a simple and haunting example of how songs should be done...
There wasn't a big 3 in The Hard Rock kings of the late 60's, early 70's. Is was a big 4. Uriah Heep were always very comfortable in Sabbath, Purple and Zeppelin's company.
Sounds like early Uriah Heep to me! David Byron on vocals I really get frustrated when some keep saying this sounds like another group. PS Jethro Tull does not sound nothing like the great David Byron
That would be like saying “If you’re a real Beatles fan Rubber Soul is ranked on the lower end cause they matured from there”. Like no shit. Doesn’t mean it can’t be one of their best albums. I personally think Bleach by Nirvana has some of their best riffs ever and it’s their first album.
URIAH HEEP British LEGENDS.
Absolute fantastic early track
Fantastic Band
Some of the songs on this album (including this) are as pure, raw heavy rock as has ever been done. Byron's voice was made for such songs.
Great vocal harmonies with Ken Hensley as well
The whole package
Riff, Bass , Drums and Guitars
Perfect!
Mick Box on electric guitar and Mick was great.

"Why don't we modulate immediately before the guitar solo?" Genius!
Does modulate mean change key? Yep, they raised a half step. Really cool sounding.
Psychedelic early Heep. Cool!
This drumming reminds me of Ginger Baker a little.
Listen carefully to kerslake to the song choices. That is some of the greatest drumming I ever heard. Or maybe July morning. Just fantastic
@@garywolf6436 Agree! By the way, for me Blizzard of Ozz album is my most favorite play by Kerslake

@@米田さとし Hensley had so many great talents but until his last 2 solo albums are always thought of him as one of the best song writers of are time.
Its power rock with briliant rock musicians!!!
God. This album is like eating mushrooms.
It's just perfect.

They have less success, but they wotr songs more articulate and extravagant.
Not in those days. 72/73 they belonged to the 5 most successful bands in the world.
This really sounds like Benefit-era Jethro Tull at times.
Sounds like early Uriah Heep to me!

if you're a real uriah Heep fan this album is rated on the lower end. they really matured from here.
strongly disagree. except for a few songs here and there, they never sounded this good again. especially post-Magician's Birthday.
I was hooked into this band by gypsy
Best record ever.

Haha, no ways - if you're a real Heep fan this album is rated among the top.
