I like the "rear window button", because you mostly use the front windows and if you only have 2 buttons you don't have to look down or feel if you use the front or rear window switches.
Yes, my car has 4 buttons there, and half the time i open the rear window instead of the front one
agree with most of what you're saying but home screen is shown @11:42 the other screens to the left are your own screens that you can compose yourself. When standing still wit car turned on just hold the area that you want to change.
Regarding navigation you can actually see the chosen route in the big map display, however next turn and distance to next manouver is shown in the speedodisplay. And by the LED-lightbar (wich is a great thing) @14:21 you can see distance and e.t.a. in the upper right corner.
20000km done in my own ID.3 and i like the car, but theres still a lot of pontential in the car not yet used. And theres definitly a few things that needs to be ironed out.

Nice video 👍 BUT the "RES"- button on the steering wheel is not Reset but RESUME.
If you press the REAR- button for the windows longer it started to blink than you can open or close ALL windows with one button- nice feature.
If you are in tha ASSIST- Menue, you don`t have to go to the settings, just touch into the graphics to change the speed warning, the distance etc.
The wireless charging option has only the MAX- version which you don`t have.
What You need is a little more preparation ;-)

Volume is at the steering wheel!!
Temperature goes like this with 2 zone clima: "Hello ID (don't wait here for the answer!), temperature xx degrees!"
Volume is on steering wheel as well

Love the video! Would be nice if you could implement a standardized city test with parking assistants, using navigationsystem and head up display and a ride through the city for example. Keep going Kris!
Long press Rear to control all windows at once. Two-finger tap on temp slider controls seat heater. Setting up short cuts for home screen also possible (slide down from above on HS). Also, would you mind sharing the SW version of this car? Should be under Setup somewhere.

While the driver seat experience is the most important, also passanger seat and back seat impressions would be usefull.
How does that high gloss screen reflects sunlight when you have the sun shining in behind your left side? Is it readable at all?
Have you thought more about drive noice measuring the cars you are testing?

Cool video Kris. Could you do a summarize video on what software updates has been done on I -Pace, EQC, Etron and others that might have gotten a better experience than at launch. This is something most RUclipsrs ignore and only do new car review.
Nice overview of the functions. You know you can customize the tiles to make it easier to access the things you actually use more easily, press and hold like on a phone. And if you have 1St model you don't get wireless phone charging for some reason.
My phone does not charge wireless anyway.
You will need 1st Max to get wireless charging
Volkswagen seem to have some homework to do... Or has it been fixed with the 2.1 version?
Hi Kris I in general like your videos but on this one you probably did not spend much time reviewing the manual. As other indicated there are many shortcuts available in configuring your own multi-windows screen (Navigation, car consumption, radio, etc...). The 2 button window controls are OK since in real life it is very rare that you want to open your rear windows. Also I am guessing that your car does not yet have the latest real SOFTWARE. which is called ID 2.1 (0729). You must have either the first one 05.. or at best the 0723 which helped correcting some major bugs. This can explain the laggy effects of the screen reaction.
I think it is good to see how a person can adapt to a new car in short term. Of course driving a car for a long time, actually owning it, it's completely different. People can get used to anything. But to see from a new owner perspective is interesting.

Sorry for the nit pick, but although you answered a lot of my questions about the ID.3 cabin features, I would appreciate if the menus were in English :)
I think this new segment is another good addition. Remember to include any tech and features in the rear and the boot as well if there is any.
It would be interesting if the segment could include your opinion in how it is to interact with the infotainment while driving as well. I find some cars ok to interact with while stationary but an utter pain to use whilst driving.
Vw need to rethink the window switches , light switches and infotainment system and wheel this has been universally criticised and vw should not wait to change this especially in light of both Audi Etron q4 and enyaq models fixing this,
Hi, I just bought an ID. 3 1st which I think is very good as a car, however when it comes to man/machine communication VW are not talented.
Yes, the screen is good, but why not use colours to make items easier to be recognized? Also, many activation surfaces are too small. There is generally a lack of logic in the user interface either.
The "buttons" on the steering wheel are strange, yes. I am surprised nobody seems to really understand why. The fact is that the black shell is suspended on a number of mechanical buttons which are activated depending on where on the shell one pushes. In any case, the whole shell moves. To what degree this action also is supported by capacitive sencors and what happens when the shell is depressed between two "buttins" is not clear. But cleaning is easier😆.
When it comes to the select and volume buttons I would say yes and no. After all, the up/down buttons are switching through a list, which by nature is vertical. Volume is somewhat more abstract allthoug we do talk about it as being high and low.
Luckily all this does not change the fact the car is solid and fun to drive. We have extreme winter conditions here in Norway right now, which further reveals how well this little spaceship drives😊
For VW it's revolutionary - I like that the display behind the steering wheel is connected and moves up and down too - very need. The quality of the material are a mixed bag. But I hear that its very fun to drive.
