It would be so cool doing a 21 and living alone series including budgeting, random adulting tasks, and standing on your own. Would be awesome for us young adults😊 Love your videos so much! You are such an inspiration and I cannot wait to see all of your future videos you have in store:) truly love your positivity!
Ava, here's some advice from someone who's finally living alone after 28 years at home: -meal prep! Even if you don't know how to cook, meal prep is a gamechanger for grocery shopping! I have about 3 dishes i rotate thru. From here, you can create your grocery list. it saves money and time from the grocery trip. -Your airfryer is your bestfriend! I live in the tropics and the airfryer doesnt heat the whole house unlike an oven. I cook EVERYTHINGGGG in the airfryer lol -Not using the grocery cart is actually smart, since it stops you from hauling a ton of items you don't need 😅 -You're doing amazing, sweetie! Experience is the best learning opportunity.
I’m a dietitian and just want to mention there’s little to no evidence oat milk is inflammatory so drink it if that’s what you enjoy! And nothing wrong with salad kits, I eat them all the time 💛
As an Italian: different shapes of pasta definitely have different taste! and condiments! Farfalle are very good with pesto or cream and prosciutto, tomato sauce is very good with Penne rigate
@@inesdevillers3545 and I'll tell you more: Paccheri are good with fish (mussels, clams, squid), any kind of Pasta rigata (with grooves so not smooth) is best with saucy condiments and Smooth pasta is better with oily condiments
@@치추이 not gonna lie mac and cheese doesn't exist in italy........ so I'm not really sure because I haven' tried it yet but we have cheese pasta which is cacio e pepe and is done with Spaghetti and similar types
TW i’ve been struggling with disordered eating for a few years, and i’m back in a bad place. i don’t know why, but something about this video and your warm loving energy gave me so much courage to try to recover again and enjoy food and be kinder to myself. i just wanna thank u for that! ♡
trying to be kind to yourself and not feel guilty about things related to food can be so difficult sometimes. any progress is good progress and even a change of mindset goes such a long way. you got this and i hope the best for you ! 🤎
I def suggest the brand milkadameia if you wanna try a new milk! It's a lot lighter than oat milk but still creamy. But also, if oat milk makes u happy a splash of it in your coffee is really not gonna be the cause of gut issues. Unless a professional has advised you on your gut problems I wouldn't worry about it. The best way to help your gut starts with adding things like a variety of fruits and veggies, not worrying about cutting things out. Don't let TikTok be your dietitian hahah everyone is unique!
I used to feel so guilty of eating snacks and very little veggies after watching other RUclipsrs! But i love how you don’t restrict yourself and eat only salads. At the same time, you try to incorporate as much healthy foods as you can 💖 love this grocery haul
I still can’t believe it’s already been 6 months of you living on your own. I’m literally so proud of you Ava!! You’re doing so well and this is just the motivation I needed to go grocery shopping 😅💛
Always look for sales/coupons! Don’t go to target/whole foods for your groceries, they are too expensive and you can find the stuff cheaper somewhere else. If you guys have farmers markets, go there and buy fruit and veggies bc they are cheaper. Compare prices from different stores/ different weeks you go to the store. Oh yeah and I always do a “do I really need this test” when I’m about to checkout. 9/10 I don’t need it and I put some items back.
It was sooo nice having the opportunity to meet you on Wednesday! You are so sweet and so niceee. It’s been 4 years since I last met you! Thank you for being my inspiration all these years and helping me with autism! I’m always looking forward to your vlogs and I love your podcast so much. I’m grateful for you! I know you have been on your own for a year or little over a year now as this vlog shows. Your crockpot/slow cooker and air fryer (if you don't have either yet get both) These become your best friend lol. Those days you work and don't want to come home to cook . Set that timer on the crockpot and cook your meal you prepared the day before. Love it.
Idk why as a 12 year old i love watching grocery videos but they are so fun to watch and i love your amazing aesthetic but also realistic videos its just perfect!
Hey to keep your berries fresh for longer after you wash them put them in an air tight glass container! I use mason jars with the lids and my fruit stays fresh for atleast a week or longer!
For me, i don't wash them until I want to eat them. Moisture is their biggest enemy. But might not work to a lot of people esp if u need to meal prep. Maybe that's why mason jars also work? Since it's airtight
@@the.annethology maybe if you pat the water off the fruit before jarring them, might help with that problem! I know I have put strawberries in a mason jar, and it almost made them taste fizzy. It honestly made them more delicious in my opinion! I don't know if it has to do with fermentation but it tastes good !

Ava!! If your berries go bad quickly, soak them in cold water and vinegar to clean them, let them dry on a kitchen towel until most of the water is gone, then store them in glass mason jars! This was a game changer for me. My berries last 2-3 weeks now 🍓
I don’t drink oat milk myself but everyone i’ve talked to/heard ppl talk about on the internet have said that chobani makes the best oat milk and doesnt inflame ur gut (that i know of)

I’m always so motivated after watching your videos, as a woman who just turned 20 and recently moved away from home, I related to this 100%. Grocery shopping is HARD 😂
Commenting super late, but when I was in my first apartment I had a little whiteboard where I would write the expiration dates of all the perishables (at least the quickest expiring ones) so I had a visual right there in the kitchen of what was going to go bad soon! It really helped me prioritize what needed to be used up the fastest.
heyyy Ava! i’m brazilian, discovered your channel few weeks ago and i’m obsessed! i love your videos, they help me with anxiety and get a better routine, thank u 💗
AVA I FEEL U!!! I’m from Brazil and the local bananas are literally the best! I moved to the US and I honestly hate them here lol like they’re too sweet idk how to explain! Luckily there’s a Brazilian supermarket near me who sells apple bananas 🫶🏼 also soy milk is really good! high protein content and tastes great
my absolute favorite plantmilk is alpro soya! it's packed with protein, kalsium and vitamins + soy increases your estrogen in a good way (prevents breast cancer !, is good for your heart and keeps your blood pressure stable)
Love you so much Ava! You're such an inspiration:) Advice for your blueberries and blackberries that you said get moody fast. Try washing only the ones you're going to eat right then, like put them in a bowl or something bc once you wash them is when they're gonna start to go bad. Hope this was helpful!
This makes me so excited to grocery shop for myself when I move out! Literally loved this video and would love to see more like this. Also, with the milk, I totally relate! For me, it is so hard to find one I like enough to just stay with. Silk almond milk is good and especially if u mix it with smoothies or other things u don't taste it that much! Love this video
Honestly the only comparison to Oatly I've found is Chobani Oat milk but it has to be the extra creamy one. I'm so picky with my oat milk too girl I've tried SO many and the only two i can have are Oatly and Chobani oat milk extra creamy
I’m not gonna lie eating has been hard recently, and I feel like I have no one I can go to about it, although I can’t talk to you I feel a million times better after watching this because I love how real you are with food! 🍜🧃
Something else I also learned recently in class is that almond and oat milk are not necessarily the best substitute for the nutrients we would get in drinking regular milk ! They are kind of just dairy free alternatives! A fortified soy milk is what is going to be the best option in replacing milk despite all the negative perspectives on soy milk it’s kind of the true nutritional way to go that still supplies you with all the benefits of dairy without the actual dairy! Loved your pod with your sister and as a nutrition student you do really learn that lots of things are just a fad and trendy but are not actually factual as to what is truly nutritious for you
three trees, elmhurst, and malk are all great milk brands - they all have almond, cashew, and oat flavors! brands like oatly are usually high in sugar and natural flavors which is why it’s not good for you, hence the digestive problems! oatmilk is also very easy to make at home!!
As a french girl who loves bread and cheese: don't cut your whole bread once you got it because it just makes the bread become harder faster, so it's better to just cut a slice when you want one. + if you are looking for good french cheeses that are are not too strong here are some (in french i'm sorry but i guess it is how they are called in the whole world) : - comté (the BEST. light taste = 4-8 months of ripening vs strong taste, also the most expensive : 18-24 months of ripening). - the morbier (no choice in the ripening duration. this is one is a little bit strong for non-french people i think but very good) - the brie is also very good + it is not very strong. hope i helped all the cheese's lovers here ! :)
ive switched to elmhurst oat milk bc it’s straight up oats and without the added oils (i.e. sunflower oils which can cause bloating); ive also heard that malk is good :)
Ava, you are absolutely correct about Oatly oat milk, it does cause inflammation in your gut and intestines. I am a food researcher and I found this out through surveys. Some experience it right away and some don't, but it does eventually cause inflammation. Love your videos by the way! You are awesome!

Aaah waited for your Video the whole day. It is so comforting to watch them, I cannot get enough of them. You always makes me feel like I can get through everything ❤️
I don’t know if you like wraps, but if you do it´s an easy meal option. I make them with eggs, bacon and avo in the morning or mexican kinda style. I think they are super easy to make and so various. Anyways, love your videos and your pod xx
Ava, if you still go home once a week, maybe have you’re mom show you a recipe when you go home 😊 especially any childhood favorites. I think it would be a great way to spend quality time with here AND learn some recipes
If you like brie cold you have to try it warmed!! If you stick it in the oven for a few minutes and pair it with jams or nuts or other cheeseboard things it’s sooooooo good. Baked brie 👌🏻
Honeycrisp apples are the BEST variety!! They are always crisp, juicy and sweet. They’re engineered so that the cells are bigger- hence the juicy crunch. That’s why they’re almost always 2x the price of other apples. Other apple varieties can be more grainy, dense, tart, etc. but they have their own uses too. Honeycrisp are elite!! Once I tried them I couldn’t go back 🍏🍎
🧀 🥖 I did really like this video, and maybe more videos like this going more in depth about the costs to buy those groceries, or more helping people who are about to move out in their own. Love you so much!
Tip for keeping food the longest Wash, cut and store your fruits ( strawberries, grapes, blueberries, etc.) in glass mason jar with a napkin inside. Your veggies cut and washed ( carrots, celery, etc ) in a glass mason jar with some water to about half way. Meat: cut and portion your meat into ziplock baggies and freeze what you won’t use Hopefully this helps. I started doing this and it made my food last for days. 💗
I don't know if you have silk milk there, but in my opinion that's the best one! And to help with expiry dates, get your oat or whatever milk off the shelf so it can't go bad until you open it

I don’t know if you like wraps, but if you do it´s an easy meal option. I make them with eggs, bacon and avo in the morning or mexican kinda style. I think they are super easy to make and so various. Anyways, love your videos and your pod xx
yesss ava i’ve been waiting for this, i love your videos so much lol you do not understand
you learning you were a regular gave me life ugh loved this video!
🥗low-key craving salad. i LOVED this video. ava does it naturally and i love that there are other big eaters out there!
Once I tried them I couldn’t go back 🍏🍎
Ava’s blogs are my safe place❤️🩹🥖🧀
🧀 🥖 I did really like this video, and maybe more videos like this going more in depth about the costs to buy those groceries, or more helping people who are about to move out in their own. Love you so much!
as someone with ibs i can tell u that ostmilk is nothing to worry about. oats are actually calming to the gut and have a prebiotic effekt on your gut.
Tip for keeping food the longest
Wash, cut and store your fruits ( strawberries, grapes, blueberries, etc.) in glass mason jar with a napkin inside. Your veggies cut and washed ( carrots, celery, etc ) in a glass mason jar with some water to about half way.
Meat: cut and portion your meat into ziplock baggies and freeze what you won’t use
Hopefully this helps. I started doing this and it made my food last for days. 💗
***Make sure to dry them thoroughly !!
i am OBSESSED with the ripple plant based milk! it’s made of pea protein. tasty and has more protein in it than other milk alternatives.
I don't know if you have silk milk there, but in my opinion that's the best one! And to help with expiry dates, get your oat or whatever milk off the shelf so it can't go bad until you open it
love this video! as a gal in my 20s shopping for myself i feel u girl
Needed this because I’m living off campus this year for school
you should try the white cheddar pop corners!! they’re my favorite !
Ava you can freeze your blueberries! They last a lot longer, don’t get moldy and they’re really good frozen😄
More grocery shopping vlogs, I enjoyed it!
I'm obsesseddd with this video
I honestly love the dip almond milk (the dark chocolate one is amazing for smoothies)
My favorite oat milk is the califia barista blend it’s only available in a small carton in the refrigerated section but it’s so good
