Destiny 2 Shadowkeep: How to Get Xenophage - Exotic Machine Gun

- Here's how to get Xenophage, the new exotic machine gun in Shadowkeep and Season of the Undying. Another midnight video.
Steps:
1) Unlock chest in Eris' portal area. (To unlock, hit the pillars in this order: bottom right, top right, top left, bottom left)
2) Go to Anchor of Light for the Torch steps.
3) Hit up all lost sectors and punch in the Rubik's Cube codes
3a) Archer's Line code: Top left, bottom left, middle, middle right.
3b) Anchor of Light code: Bottom left, bottom right, top middle, top middle.
3c) Hellmouth code: Top right, middle left, middle, bottom middle, bottom right, bottom right, bottom middle, bottom middle.
3d) Sorrow's Harbor code: Middle left, middle, middle, middle left, middle top, middle bottom, middle, middle right.
4) Go into the dungeon and beat the first encounter. Find the doorways and go to the top left doorway with no medallion on it and pick up the piece.
5) Drop into the cave area, go left and activate the plate on the ledge to grab a ball. Take the ball the way you came and keep going until you see a doorway to drop it into on the right.
6) Kill secret boss. The boss is 980, while the enemies are 970 in this arena.

Just for anyone who hasn’t gotten Xenophage yet. I followed Dattos quest steps for this recently and every bit worked until I hit the sorrows harbor lost sector, K1 Revelation. The code that worked is as follows: RM, LM, MM, MM, LM, TM, BM, MM. (R-Right, L-Left, T-Top, B-Bottom, M-Middle)

If you you're Hunter that runs Celestial, you'll still be matching the Xenophage damage even with something like Izanagi.
EDIT: The quest is actually super easy, and doesn't take that long. I did the dungeon part solo, and it took about an hour to get it down

I just wrote down the directions; pretty solid landmarks. Also, you can slow down the video playback in each video’s settings...
I was doing this with my friends today and there was a guy who conveniently happened to be doing the same quest so we just followed him, and he knew the path really well.

Marcin Szcześniak xenophage is a heavy, therefore any weapon in the heavy slot, rockets, swords, machine guns etc can be replaced by it

@@TheOuroboros777 TheOuroboros777 Multiple people at the PAX event were saying it was a 1 hit crit in PvP. I can only assume this was the case at some point, because it only picks up 3 rounds from a heavy box in Clash and it's a 2 hit body kill with no crit potential... I don't think there's a single heavy weapon that's worse for PvP. It's pretty unimpressive in PvE as well. Very cool exotic quest, though, and the gun itself is at least interesting even if it's pretty awful to use. I feel like something is bugged, though. This 100% feels like a precision weapon, but it doesn't do precision damage.

Datto, the best combo for the statues at the beginning, assuming when you start none are lit, is:
Top right
Bottom left
Top left
Bottom right
I saw or read somewhere that said you can also do Bottom Right, Top Right, Top Left, and Bottom Left and that worked too. I'm curious as to how many possible combinations there are.

2: It's unique and hilarious.

Hello anyone who came here to comment about it not working or people saying just to wait... dont do that... what you have to do is put in the code with an smg once you start the first one empty the mag anywhere on the board and once you reload you can enter the second one and after that do the same thing where you empty the mag and shoot the next plate until you have finished putting in the code. Now alot of people get stuck here because the game doesnt regester that the code has been input if that happens with you just empty the mag one more time and shoot the last plate of the puzzle and it should spawn the chest. If anyone is confused just leave a comment and ill see if i can help. IF THIS COMMENT HELPED YOU THEN DONT FORGET TO LEAVE YOUR LIKE PLEASE

It's weird because even I don't have the expansion, but we can still get the quest. I don't think you'll be able to complete it, but you can still get it.

@@mixxur yeah. But the game allows ws to interact with the statues for some reason and open the chest which gives the quest. You won't be able to complete the quest though, as it requires access to the pit of heresy.

This just looks awful. I wanted to solo shattered throne so I wanted izinagis. So to do that I want to get xenophage for dps, but now I'm just stuck between which dungeon to solo lmao

Fun thing is, it has 0 damage drop off. You can shoot straight across the hell mouth and do the same dmg as if you were next to the target. 2 shots in gambit.
Finally, an exotic i won’t feel bad about never getting.

I don't feel bad for players who didn't finish Izanagi's Burden when it launched and were screwed for the longest time because of the bug. I don't feel bad if no one wants to bring those players who skipped the quest to Master Nightfalls. Always get everything and be ready to pull it out for any piece of content, no matter how useless it seems at the start. Sometimes it takes time for something to bloom.

I had a bunch of trouble with the final lost sector puzzle because of all the middles. Reset it 3 times to realise I was doing bottom right and not middle right 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️

Right after you pickup the orb (in the same room). Turn to your right and initiate the first light(on a control panel). Starting the clock.
It absolutely rects in PvP what's even better is with vids like these I was able to solo this for mine.

Don't know if you stated this. I was told to go to 8:00. The holes you slam the balls in for the xenophage boss either change or have been changed since you made this video. really hectic my first time, but worked it out. At least the slow affect is only 5 seconds and I'm doing this almost a year later at 350 light levels higher with op seasonal perks and 100 mobility on a hunter.
Taking a direction in a given room based on left and right sides, is imprecise. You can't tell where is your destination if you have any angle. You should tell what lies where based on compass directions. Map shows North I believe.

After completing the sector puzzle and if the chest doesnt appear. Shoot the puzzle once with a rocket. It will work.

Wabbajack would have been cool. Lots of people don’t like returning exotics though.
Considering how outbreak was a secret exotic quest, nercochasm would probably be similar to it if it did come back.

So I did it solo on my warlock and all I can say is this, lightning the path don’t watch it in one sitting but pause it for each one,lost sectors be careful because if you screw up you gotta leave and rejoin,the boss I recommend a hunter with frost and anarchy using top tree and hive mods if solo
Btw, quickest combo I've found for the statues is just going anti-clockwise from the nearest right statue as you enter. You get it after the 4th statue.

Ahmad Nazirul if you hit one wrong button, you have to reload the whole lost sector, or hit that same button 3 more times to reset the puzzle so its in its original position. I just ran through the lost sectors and got the quest step.

Tip: for anyone trying to "follow along" to this... just do this run 2 or 3 times *without* the orb, so you can get used to the path. Then, once you have the route memorized, getting it done in under a minute will be much easier. This will take you no more than maybe 10 minutes, but it is worth avoiding the stress of the 60 second time constraint if you don't know where you are going.
Wish I had read this before I did it. I did it on .75 speed and it was still kind of frustrating

I know its a little late but an easier way to start is Front left, bottom left, front right and bottom right. It worked for me!

This gun wasn't good when it released, it was heavily buffed in PvE later which made it good.

Really appreciate this. Just wrapped it up solo after 2 and a half hours. Had to do the event twice because the randoms didn't have great dps and I reset a lot in the dungeon (would've been much easier with 2 people) but it was worth it. First game in gambit and I mopped the floor with them
