The first time I played D:BH I had the ending where the two of them die inside the deactivation machine. I was so sad and I felt empty 'cause they were so brave and went all that sh*t together for nothing. Yes, at first they were machines, but they stopped being that when they started feeling and having consciousness, so even if they're different they're a new form of life (imo). They deserved to awaken 'cause anyone wouldn't like to be a slave. Anyway, I completely understood the androids while the story was going on. Plus, I acted peacefully and people were very cruel/rude. If there's a prequel/sequel, I'll do whatever it takes to save them and I'll have the slightest empathy with humans (although I'm not a supporter of violence, but they are and they generally don't care, so *_existencial crisis_* ). _P.S. / This game is absolutely amazing!_ 👏 _P.S. 2 / Anyone knows more interactive-story games of this style?_

You can actually sacrifice zlatkos creations instead of Ralph. I never met Ralph in my first playthrough but also ended up in the camp and was able to escape with Luther and Alice that way.
i like the markus saving kara and alice ending the most. the attack on the camp and the markus vs connor fight meant so much more knowing i was fighting for markus kara and alice
The stealing ticket part avoids to sacrifice a Jerry or Ralph here. Sorry but to me causing a HUMAN family to have to wait for the next bus is less of a sacrifice than killing one of your allies. Also even if they're alive in some endings there, they've been through so much more pain it's horrifying. I prefer when they're happily in Canada, not when they're still stuck in Detroit where humans could decide to kill them at any given time.

If you want Markus to save them from the camp you have to basically ignore all options and opportunities for them to escape on their own. If Markus succeeds in defeating the army, Kara and Alice will be saved by his androids right before they enter the destruction device.
For the best ending for the camp you need Markus to choose the revolution path. If he's successful he will free the camp including Kara Alice Luther Jerry Ralph and all other androids.

If Markus is going the peaceful protest then it's best to have Kara at the border she can get across without sacrificing anyone. If Markus is going the revolution war path then it's best to have Kara captured and sent to the camp so Markus can free the camp and you don't have to sacrifice anyone to escape just use the androids from Zlatko to create a diversion to join Alice in line then Markus wins the revolution and comes for them just as Kara and Alice enter the recycling machine.
I got the last one in my first gameplay, I was so happy that my revolution saved them. Luther survived as well! I only lost Connor when trying to awaken the deviants, I didn't find Hank's son photo and didn't know his name when he asked me... I was still happy with my ending tho

I thought the first ending was tough, then I saw the second, and I don't like the character of Alice, but good grief abandoning her is such a brutal decision.
Due one single stupid decision, I had to witness one of the most shocking things I ever saw in any game and it is all my fault. I had to literally go watch FROZEN and sing "do-you want to build a snowman" with my neighbor just to clear my mind of the humiliating atrocities. Why do I keep doing that to myself is beyond me.

@@osk3253 You need to have make friendship with the droids from the amusement park. They'll offer you a distraction to escape in a fence hole where a guard holds a gun right in front of it. At least I got Kara to kill another stupid human before going, but it was still very humiliating.

On my first playthrough of this game, I got them all the way to the border of Canada, the boat ending. But at THE LAST MOMENT I screwed it up and got all three of them killed, Luther, Kara and Alice. That final shot of Kara kneeling on the shore of Canadian territory, holding onto Alice's body as she (Kara) shuts down still haunts my nightmares, they made it to freedom only to die moments before they could reach safety. I was so upset with the ending I got that I replayed it multiple times to get the good one.

As someone who never had any of these endings, it's incredibly uncanny seeing Kara and Alice as androids with no skin or clothes

You can actually sacrifice zlatkos creations instead of Ralph. I never met Ralph in my first playthrough but also ended up in the camp and was able to escape with Luther and Alice that way.
Kara and Alice are the most tragic characters there are and their story is just so beautiful.
The game's plot reminds me of that indie pixel art game "Horace", because humans are abusing and destroying all these poor, sentient robots
