The issue that people don't get is the away form puts pressure on home form - people seem to have forgotten last season. Blackburn, Sunderland and Saints - 1 point when we needed 3 wins. The same is happening again.

Valid points Locky and spot on about the lack of desire shown by most of the team, Dan James apart. The difference between the first and second place teams is SU grind out results - we don’t. They beat PNE & Millwall away, we did not. Also need to bear in mind they were docked two points but are still now three points clear of us.
Yes we beat them at Elland Road but one result does not win a season - look at what we did to Ipswich and Leicester last season. Who ultimately got promoted? IMO we lack not just a better GK, number 10 or a prolific finisher but also that total 100% desire to win for those genuine devoted fans and the club. Without that heart felt desire no team, no matter how talented will win this league.
I still sing the same tune from last season, Farkeball isn’t going to take us up. This is exactly the same shambles as last season. Any coach who sets up a proper defence can take points off Leeds. Everyone knows we have the best players but pub teams can beat us. We are not going up with Farke
The one thing that stood out for me was the lack of intensity in the first half and for the the first 20 minutes in the 2nd. I got sick of watching the laborious tippy tappy playing on the dbe ofbthe box and failing to pick out a runner and there was plenty of runners who never got the pass. How many times did we actually go all the way back to Meslier. Possession football is crap unless you get an end product. FARKE didn’t even gee them up at half time. When we finally got near the end some then speeded up and Solomon came on and showed urgency. Our players are very good and ripped them apart but too late, maybe if FARKE had put a rocket up their asses …. Sorry he ain’t good enough these days, football has moved on from Farkeball at Norwich
I agree - there were a lot of slack passes which ended up with losing possession. That was starkly different from the Middlesborough game.
Ye exactly. We lost the ball so quickly at times that we couldn’t build up much momentum in the game . Not a great day at all but still a point 👍
Agree with everything you say Locky - why can't Farke see it though? He should be making necessary tactical and personnel adjustments game to game, as well as in game, but he won't or can't. I fear his stubbornness will be our downfall as will keeping Mes in goal and persisting in playing out of form players. I'm worried!!
Stubbornness is probably 95% of managers downfall these days. If I was one, I fear it would be mine too. They have ideas and think they are the best ideas and who am I to suggest different ones hahaha. I’m not worried yet just frustrated with the whole team on how there is such a huge difference in home and away. So so strange isn’t it.
Completely agree. No fight. Would have got guillyvogi on for some muscle. Bamford miss was bad. But Joseph didn’t even touch the ball. Lucky him that full back did.
Was a game crying out for the likes of batty or Vinnie Jones. I agree that I would have played big josse. Like for like. Need more.physixal players against the likes of Preston and millwall

If our home form slips and we will be in the play offs. This performance has been so often that it needs explaining by Farke, he stated that he sets up the same home and away but it does not look like it.

We need a more defensive structure away from home. Their attack breaking like sea on the rocks. Same structure home and away isn’t working! Change it!
Yes, I think we are absolutely deadly one the counter and we used to be more definitely at times and we looked really good when doing so, not sure why we don’t do it at times. I think Ampadu in the middle will massively help to do that though as Rothwell and tanaka are ball dominant midfielders where as Ampadu can do both set ups very well.
Locky we all share your frustration and bewilderment. We need a 9 and 10. None of the strikers worth their pay. Aaronson, very busy, but keeps missing ‘big’ (massive, humongous) chances/gifts. Bamford, only brought back memories of how he can miss sitters and Piroe is frustrating beyond belief, trots at best and unable to control/hold the ball up. On performance alone, Gnonto must be our number 4 choice winger. He generally shakes his head when he is brought off, whereas never sure why he stays on so long. Then we get to Dan James……absolute star!!! Need to sort out our away form, lack of energy, passion and desire. At this point, we look like we could throw away a golden opportunity of automatic promotion.

Ye we definitely need a 9 and or 10 for sure, Mateo needs more time as he’s only 20 in his 1st full season as a “main” player , that’s a hell if a lot of pressure for anyone never mind a young and inexperienced guy. And yes for all Aaronson as good bits, he is wasteful and we need a different option in that role for sure. I’m convinced Sheff U and Burnley will all strengthen so we can’t be left behind. Dan James is absolutely amazing isn’t he !!
After watching your other review on what we need in the transfer window, I slightly amended my feedback, in that we need a first rate 9, keep Joseph and give what is obvious talent, time to develop. Keep Piroe for his impactful last 15/20 mins and thank you and goodbye Bamford …..design a beautiful exit, however we can that benefits us and him
I saw Solomon ride a tackle really well. Others would do well to follow his example and show a little tenacity. Cheers.

Agree fully. No matter how talented the squad, with one or two exceptions, without desire you cannot win this league. SU grind out results, we do not. How many times last year did Ipswich come back from behind to win games. We beat both Ipswich and Leicester last season but lost to perceived weaker teams through a lack of grit and sheer determination. Same again this time around, we beat SU but lose to Millwall, Blackburn and only draw at PNE - SU beat them all away. We don’t just need a better GK, a real number 10 and a prolific finisher, we need 100% what you cannot buy, the heart to win for the fans and the club.
Spot on mate. And watching some of the away Sheff u games o tv.. they don’t look great at all but they fight and take their chances! They look extremely organised without been pretty. They have shithouse players and ones who love to wind up the opposition we don’t really, they are all nice.
I would argue MJ makes contact if he doesn’t have the defender on him. Still shouldn’t miss the ball. It’s a different chance though
Maybe the answer is Gruev and Ampadu in midfield away and AO and Rothwell at home 🤷♂️
Ye honestly Steve it’s a good shout. Different types of players available for different games. All who are very capable at this level. I guess time will tell with Ampadu and Gruev.
A frustrating game no doubt, and a sluggish performance from all but James. Not trying to make excuses, but I saw tired legs out there. That's the main reason for me for not getting to duals first today. Right now, due to injuries, we have little choice in our starting line up - especially in defense. We've got players like Byrum and Bogle nursing injuries, but have to be started. We are also missing our captain for his leadership, mainly.
I am getting very tired though of watching Aaronson, Gnonto and Joseph miss opportunities up front. More composure from Aaronson and not blasting way over, and that whole game changes complexion.
And Bamford must go now. His is past his sell-by date with Leeds.
I just don't see away performances improving - because, as you say they are grinding games, until we have more fully fit players available.
Ye it seems to be that 3rd game In a 3 day week where we look sluggish .. smallest squad in the league remember, good squad but as you said with injuries and small squad numbers you kind of don’t have many choices at times. Locky are we expecting to much,it's difficult to put your finger on the specific problem,the away form is a worry,we are their cup finals,these away games are like our fa cup performances no effort no duels won with regulatory. We need a ten,aaronson not the complete player,farkes got his patterns, he picks same team every week.its not working away to slow on build up,meslier should have saved.,if leeds capitulate again, somebody is getting 2 kier tiered for neglect..
It’s the benefit/curse of experience Ben. Observations for me are sadly and naively reduced to:
We have wine bar players who don’t seem to like spit and sawdust boozers and a fight.
With the slight exception of DJ, nobody really showed up. Mistakes count seemed high, poor choice count even higher. We looked a bit flat-footed and every loose ball fell to them.
Ordinarily not bothered until it becomes statistically improbable that we see the same script yet again.
I’m tactically numb, but I get motivation, and we didn’t look motivated, in fact, we haven’t looked motivated away from home that much.
Ye the wine bar comment it perfect haha. All some and silky but no Steele when it really needs it. I’m glad you noticed it too because it’s Just so strange when we play like this because I’m not sure why it keeps happening 😂 and that’s my point, tactics are great but when the fundamentals (winning duels, basic movement / decision making) are not there, nor the motivation, you won’t win the game. We have to fix it up and quick.

Watching the players not compete for second balls or several of them jogging back when there is a counter to defend... so frustrating. Was it fatigue? Lack of desire? I don't know but it is sad to see, especially when they have played far better. Sometimes I wish they would just throw the kitchen sink at teams from the first whistle, not from 70-80 mins.
Oh yeah forgot to mention... BALL WATCHING. FFS
I’m not sure what it is mate. My guess is they believe so much in their core principles- ball retention, dominate with possession, full hand control- that when that isn’t working and the opposition are better then they expect, they have little answers. Mentality for me, not talent or ability.

The only way we could of won that match is if the ref played by the rules and sent there player off for 2 bookable fouls, but even then we where bullied all over the pitch.

Locky why can we not play away from home? it makes the Boro result less good, we need to play like we do at home with high tempo, Once the opposition score you can see what is going to happen. I think as a team they think the same thing as it happens all the time. The team as to treat all these away games as our cup final not just go through the motions thinking we will have enough,
Ye I’m not sure mate, many reasons I’m sure but for these lot I don’t know. Maybe there is a deeper, more counter style we need to implement away from home or an Ultra aggressive press because it’s a bit of a nothingness style at times isn’t it. I used to hate playing away and I loved the comfort and familiarity of playing at home, but these are elite pros who have to get rid of that mindset.

It's an odd one, if we finish on the current averages we finish on 93 points but a team has never been promoted top 2 with 1.4 points away from home

Well coached in general for sure. But we all knew that would be a scrap and Guilavogui didn’t play. (Hindsight) Thought it called for a set piece team and possibly a 4-3-3 with a six and two eights.
Most frustratingly, Bogle was poor enough in the first half that a sub was the obvious call.
Also, Aaronson fluffed it this game. Unfortunately he wasted at least two big chances either passing or shooting.
Ye really wanted Guilavogi for this one, midfield 3 right now is something I want to see as well. Because for the Kody part Aaronson wasn’t getting in his usual spaces and we couldn’t find a way to find players.
We need a Striker & Buendia on loan in January.

@@LockyyLeeds why does Farke need the best players in every position to win the league when we have more than enough, where are is managerial skills instead of having just the best players to get him out of a pickle, we play too safe locky and i want a full on press in away games with james ,arronson,joseph who that would suit, no urgency,no intensity,slow, this is the mentality of the manager which has been given to the players

I haven’t watched your analysis yet but Piroe staying on the whole game was criminal. Man might as well have been dead.
I watched the one good free kick we had that was begging for Rothwell and five second before the strike it was evident Piroe was taking it.
Why this manager won’t just play the best players and change the mechanisms of the system to match the right profiles is beyond me. He just needs to change which positions fill which roles and fill which spaces at what times and he can get the best XI on the pitch. Instead we suffer through this egregious display repeatedly.

CAn't finish, has no presence, is slow, injury prone and has regressed from last season which is amazing. We need physical players - the joseph haters will be out in force but he is a presence, the other one is Aaronson - doesn't seem to work either, maybe need a change there. BAmford is not the answer and we need the wages off books - somehow.

Did you not see the bit where I mentioned we should press more away from home ?? That’s a farke decision… listen to the conversation it’s right there. Also it’s based on my experience, I’ve explained endless times why .. it’s about the fundamentals, that’s my issue, not winning second balls, not scoring easy chances, letting the ball go across your box, getting 2 hands on a shot and not saving it… thats not the manager. I’ve also said in my last 3 videos I think we should play a midfield 3 as they are getting overrun and I’ve also said we should press. So the answer is I do you clearly Just miss it mate.

Farke has one of the best squads for the last two seasons but has the same issues
If he were in the premier league would he not have the same issues against much better opponents, he certainly wouldn't be bailed out by home form, for me the wellbeing of the club comes first, not the manager
We've seen this away performance over, and over and over again under Farke. Another game where he's like a rabbit in headlights, and not seeing what everyone else sees , which is to make changes at halftime. Why Solomon wasn't on from the get go after half time is beyond me. Then his subs are like waiting for a bus. You don't see one for an hour, then three arrive at the same time. It is getting very boring and predictable, and may actually cost us an automatic place.
