- As I chased Escanaba & Lake Superior ELS 502 south Thursday I found ELS 501 in Pembine, WI heading north to meet them, to switch crews and trains. I film ELS 502 at a NEW LOCATION too, then head back north with ELS 501.

Good video! Happy Easter to you also, and to whoever comes across this comment!
Jason, the other day you inquired if CN had to stop and blow horn on the approach to the crossing. The answer is "yes", as you can see the stop sign on their alignment across from the depot remnant foundation.
Wow! ELS is doing some real railroading. North and south trains at the same time. Nice.
Thanks Jason for a great chase . Loved the new crossing. Happy Easter to you and your family 🚂
Good chase video. I like the new crossing. Good speed thru there.
Always great to see a meet here. Thank goodness they do have the amount of room they have here to push and pull things into shape at Pembine. It's been awhile since one of the old BIMX scrap cars ventured up here as they are normally sent to the Green Bay facility. The two grade crossings on both sides of County "O" are pretty decent and worth videoing at this location again. That section behind the Gates is probably the rifle range
I thought the same about the end of the road after that fell from my mouth..... LMAO
Good morning I enjoyed the video👍👍
Great catch J.😊
good train video continues
Happy Easter to you Jason - great video as always - it does show the different 'rails' - one they have to go slow, the other where they came pick up speed
Thanks for the southbound and the northbound. It is always a good day with Green Freddy. ☘ Have a great Easter weekend. 👍
Nice video ; lots of content!
great video. happy easter to you too.
first train had an orange freddy on the back and last train had a green freddy on the back thanks Jason !
Great video! Rare sight!
Great video Jason. Nice to see new views too. 👍👍👍🇬🇧
Great video as always my friend!
(@3:12) See, that there is the advantage of the large front “porch” on the SD40-type engines; there’s enough room for three trainmen all at once. 😊
Nice!
A technical event.
Do you have any videos showing them loading the wood on the rail cars?
Happy Easter also.
How many cars of smart siding per car of logs?
Happy Easter and have fun. the sound the hopper cars were making at the crossing was not good.
They were empty and were going over a low spot. Empty
covered hoppers always make
a hollow boom when coupled into hard or couplers are being
jostled over a low spot. The
force is transferred to the car
body, making a booming sound.
Any car can make those sounds, especially when empty.
Ethanol tanks can make a hollow sound, even when loaded.
Have you heard shoestring is missing?
Ever make you nervous when you see those cars rocking right next to you? Just wondered.
They sell lp smart siding in Marshfield and there is a railspur to the building supply in Marshfield still haven't seen it on the train yet
Curious - what product is in the hoppers for up there? Plastic pellets? Can’t imagine it’s grain
How does the customer spot cars at Alter Metals?
What happened to all their 400 series geeps?
400 is working Escanaba area.
402 is down with a bad push rod. Whether it will be repaired is unknown.
Why do rail road crews always pack in for their shift like they’re going on a two week camping trip?
Maybe they anticipate derailing in the middle of the night in snow and ice in the middle of nowhere? Or it's just hungry work.
Need to have all weather gear, radio, keys, lanterns, food, water, etc. To be on the road in the middle of nowhere for hours. Just like planning for a long road trip across desert... being prepared can save your life.
I’m hoping it’s just a lull in action and car orders. I’ve been
watching your videos for quite
some time, and Alter Metals had been loading quite a few cars and LP has been, as well.
To only have one car for each is
very unusual. I’ve been wondering about those two gons at the CN interchange, why ELS keeps bypassing them.
There are a number of reasons to choose from; hoping it’s
something unusual going on.
Also, they set that gon into
Alter Metals and didn’t pull the
loads. There again, hoping
something unusual is going on,
not poor service by ELS. Being
a former rail employee, my mind
can go in a myriad of directions
as to a logical circumstance going on for both customers.
Just hoping a sudden lack of
orders isn’t one of them!
