Writing. Unlike most other BLs, High School Frenemy's writers focused on the growth each character went through instead of the typical love story between two hot boys. By immersing us with a good backstory and natural dialogue between Saint and Shin, they effectively gave us a reason to root for these characters. That and because SkyNani are great actors and have incredible chemistry with each other!

In the first episode I read a lot of criticism about his acting, and in the second episode after Fadel's scene; I don't even see criticism about his bad acting anymore. Now it's "praise" to both of them who haven't had much acting growth together... mainly Dunk. High School Frenemy is amazing❤

I really love this series, and after watching few times, I guess this story kind logical, at first I really confused why this is not bl, but they are such in love, also consider maybe kind of humor, but here bc the actor perfectly performance and the story detail. I think Saint is the one let Shin feel he has a happiness family, their parents both divorced, busy at work, and Saint is the guy good at cooking, hand crafting, he taking care of Chingching with Shin in the past, basically they build a happiness home together. Their personality opposite, but perfectly fit, one good at cooking, one couldn't, one much schedule, so they already completed each others life, that's why Shin totally broke down when Saint leaving, couldn't find the meaning keep going, people can easily accept the dream will never come true, but hard to accept losing a happiness family, especially he already got his happiness bc Saint, he defined his happiness home, everything compare this just a little thing. Shin's mom will never understand, and I guess Saint didn't understand that specific, bc Saint is the kind more following own instinct.
