No matter how many time we go, that first moment when you hit the banks, and see that super blue, super clear water, always feels magical, almost like we are in a different world, a different reality. Enjoyed your video!
The Chart books do look great mates! Easy to read too! The Sapona is quite the landmark in Bimini. Very beautiful place to see! Still on my bucket list! Enjoyed the video!
Glad to see you guys made it over to Bimini safe and sound. Cat key has been really strict on letting people on there Island, to either dock up or even just to go to the restaurant rite there at the docks and it’s been that way ever since the casino / resort opened up in north Bimini. A few of us when over there diving the wall on the west side of the island would normally go in to the restaurant between dives for lunch on our boats and be able to dock up rite in the marina but not anymore for at least a couple of years now.
The two of you have been through worst AKA sunken dream boat. You never gave up and look at you now! The Bahamas looks good on the intrepid salty crew!
Sailboat story. Mavic 1? If so, you are correct on the camera. That and I think most dji product shine in dusky conditions. I've had quite a bit of luck using ND filters when shooting in bright light.
The phantom is a wicked awesome quadcopter, I crashed mine the very first day and many times since... some brutal crashes, and it keeps flying! Just make sure you always have spare propellers.
That's good to know! We've been so careful with ours, maybe too careful. I only ever launched it after taking the dinghy to shore. I did one boat launch after coming back in the states and it was off calibration and started drifting into shrouds and stays and other boats i nearly lost it and just put it away until recently to figure it out in a safe space haha
When you grab the drone? If she turns it side ways, the motor will shit off right away itself. BTW You don’t need internet. Run it on airplane mode, so you don’t lose connection if you accidentally tap on a notification like a txt.
Hi: for solo: in term of sea worthiness . . . couldn't a 15 ft Montgomery be just as sea worthy as a bigger rig? Isn't the only difference the amt of stuff you can carry? So, if a person pays attention to the essentials: satellite phone, solar battery, Radio, GPS, etc . . . and food, and travels light with safety gear . . . couldn't that person be just as sea worthy to sail from Long Beach to Hawaii? I mean the Montgomery 15 is positively buoyant, and sea worthy. So my question is: isn't the only difference that you can carry more in a big boat? but if I don't need extra things, isn't the Montgomery 15 just as good for solo to Hawaii as anything else? [serious question, I dream of sail solo. thx.]
You as the passenger/skipper etc are the ballast in a Montgomery 15. If you are sailing in the open ocean you will always have to be aware of where your weight is and how the sea and winds could require you to be somewhere else. Here is Jerry Montgomery: smallcraftadvisor.com/our-blog/?p=1121 And here is a book about a guy sailing his to Hawaii!: www.amazon.com/Little-Breeze-West-Adventures-single-handed/dp/1519373910
How do you like the wing keel? I had a Pearson 27 with a wing and it was very tender and would not point worth a darn. It sailed at about a 50 degree heel and I was not a happy camper. We purchased it brand new and I sold it after three years. I wonder what your experience has been. Thank you for your time.
We like it very much! We've always reefed early, seems just about the same on the pointing as other fin keels we've experienced, can point a little better with the bow sprit config, but loses any advantage pointing when rolling up jib a little. We've definitely enjoyed not being restricted by depths, the less than 4 feet has been pretty mint when cruising the Bahamas. We've also been very cautious choosing passages/weather.
Wicked Salty thank you for responding to such as me. We were once there as tourists for President day, no thanks. You kids have a safe time and enjoy yourselves.
Wow .. you guys were the first couple i saw sailing the world on you tube. unfortunately you guys getting together with the other youtube people like sailboat story and tulas endless summer kind of ruin each of your stories. Gone with the Wynns did the same thing with the awesome couple from ???? Hope to god The old sea dog doesn't find you. Bless your hearts tho!!
Enjoy the good vibes and scenery, checking into our first full day in the Bahamas in years. Felt SO GOOD to be back.
No matter how many time we go, that first moment when you hit the banks, and see that super blue, super clear water, always feels magical, almost like we are in a different world, a different reality. Enjoyed your video!

Glad you two are away from bay sailing and canal trolling. The Mrs. looks so much happier already. Congrats
6:46 that flying food processor is indeed pretty frightening. They can inflict horrible wounds.
The Chart books do look great mates! Easy to read too! The Sapona is quite the landmark in Bimini. Very beautiful place to see! Still on my bucket list! Enjoyed the video!

Ca y est, vous y êtes arrivés !bravo les gars😊💪🙋from France.
Man, those sunset drone shots look so good! Amazing color and contrast. I’m thinking your drone’s camera is better than the one on our Mavic.
Sailboat story. Mavic 1? If so, you are correct on the camera.

I just can't get over that reefed main on such light airs, what are you guys afraid of, a little heeling?
Nice job, Salties!
Love the drone footage already!
Thank you! More coming up next video!
Damn Wes, you got some moves!

You guys are getting pretty damn good production wise. Your channel is awesome. Love your adventure too. the reason why I came here. Cheers.
When you come back through Oriental, you’ll have to give Ed some tips on getting our drone going. We’ve not had much success lately.
What Year and model catalina yacht are you exploring the Bahamas on.??
Tracker still working in airplane mode, so that means mobile signal is disabled but not the GPS signal. Sweet!
Pleased your crossing went well study those charts well there are some supprizes and don’t anchor to far out as most do good luck
Looking forward to tons of drone footage
You made it!!!
Dude. i could clearly see your charts in your book. When I see a depth of 4, is that 4 meters or 4 feet?
Brian Stevens the explorer charts are in meters
@@WickedSalty good to know, 4 ft would be impossible.
Still waiting on Dom to release new footage. Maybe hes tired of this stuff. His one of the best. Very talented.
pate allan Sarah just had their third child since we met them. I’m guessing that and work are keeping them busy!
Just bought X-plane 11 download photo-realistic scenery from the Bahamas using ORTHO4XP and it's so beautiful flying and island hoping the Exuma Cays
