@Cory Devon Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site on google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
"You can't have sex in a Miata" When there's a will, there's a way. Of course, you'll have some cramps in your hip after the deed is done, but it's entirely possible. lol
You're right about defensive driving lol, when I'm going to overtake someone and they dip into my lane, I lock up the brakes and my butt hole starts to pucker 😂😂
Each point made in this video are spot on! I bought a 1999 Miata 2 days before my first professional job out of college. Packed it full and got some help from my grandpa to move and have loved it ever since. Through 2 years of ownership, I can attest to all 12 of these points.
So I recently bought a Green / Tan 91 Eunos Roadster as my first car(I'm in Europe now) . When I was browsing for cars I came across it and was able to get a good deal for it . Then when I told my mom and dad about it they told me that when my mom lived in San Francisco she bought a red Miata from the production line and that my father bought a green Miata from the production line aswell !! They were not even together at that time as dad was in Florida ! They showed me pictures of them and everything which was so cool!
I'm just stumbling upon this now, I have a 1993 that I bought in 1997. It was actually my first car that I purchased myself. I have 168,000 miles on it now and still love it!
That’s a very good point. When my mom thought it was dangerous I knew that was nonsense and so did my dad. I saved up and I love my 2007 NC. Let me also say you definitely can get head in a Miata but my parents don’t need to know that😂
I mean i've seen 90's Mustangs for like 2 grand or so commonly in my area, i would assume at 16 it'd be one like that. Fox body or some type of body of mustang that was common in the 90s.
I definitely agree on the miata makes you a better driver and makes you focus. I have a 72 buick and not having all the tech stuff and the sloppiest steering in the world it demands your attention lol
You're video is 100% accurate... the miata was my first car i just bought mine like 4 months ago and installed coil overs already and it makes it way more fun lol
This video just makes me love my NB even more! You're definitely right about the friends asking for rides part too, I used to drive a 2000 expedition before I got my Miata and everyone would hit me up for rides lol.
I had a couple friends that asked me for a ride and I was in the Miata, well it was pouring rain and I didn't have the heart to leave my one buddy stranded, he's been there for me a zillion times, so my one friend sat next to me and the other squeeze in the trunk, of course the smaller framed buddy went in the trunk. But we managed.
Where I'm from we call the Miata the MX-5, or a hairdresser's tub. And I think it would be good as a second car, but not a first car. They're not hideously expensive to insure if you don't mind paying installments to your insurance company, and they're surprisingly practical as well as sporty. And one could be yours to keep forever and cherish for £1000. Just be sure to keep a spanner and some spare parts handy.
Yeah convertibles are practical I've fit 3 tubas with case, a baritone, 5 trombones, 7 trumpets and a piccolo in my car for being a 05 Chrysler Sebring. Now I saw a Miata coming from Lowes with five 2x12 pieces of wood and a medium size tool box just is the passenger seat.
I never thought I could follow my previous car (Jag xk8 convertible) with anything less than would cost a whole lot of money I dont presently have. Then I discovered the mx5 mk3 and since I got it three weeks ago I just cant wait to jump in it everyday-and night. Luckily I bought wisely and got an absolute peach of a car. Its a 2006 model with 75k miles but its been really well looked after and looks and drives like a new car on new tyres and rocking after market wheels. Its great to get back into gears after my auto Jag and it feels like a sportier firmer ride which Im liking a lot. Its a great car-a sporting roadster. Totally recomended for the drivers amongst you!!✌🏽
I honestly can’t thank you enough for this my heart broke when my dad said i couldn’t get it because it’s too small but this video is gonna help me stack facts against him and prove him wrong thank you so much
insurance is crazy expensive if you like in the uk like it depends on your age where you live how sporty the car looks and what reputation it has, its bullshit
I'm getting ready to buy my first car but I can't decide between the 94 Miata and the 04 Dodge Neon srt4, both cars modified. The Miata is around $3,000 and the srt4 is $5,000. The Miata has a damaged passenger side panel but everything inside is in perfect condition with bride racing seats and no rust anywhere in or out with really nice black rims and toyo sport tires. The srt4 is completely rebuilt with it being about 80% aftermarket parts including a bigger turbo and new rims with drag slicks. The owner of the srt4 is a mutual friend that lives close by. Thanks.
I know im 3 years too late but my parents say that since the car is more than 20 years old now they are concerned about reliability and how expensive it is going to be to maintain, what should I counter that argument with?
my parents say its unconfortable and expensive when i showed them the picture of the MX-5, but i do my homework if i buy something big. i love the style of it.. AND THE HEADLIGHTS!
Thomas Boonman You can't say it's uncomfortable from a picture, and I can say that having personally sat in Miata seats, that they're pretty okay, comfort-wise. Not something like a Cadillac, but still pretty comfy. And no, depending on the year, they're cheap as heck
Clearly you cant drive......you have to work the engine hard to get the best out of .....the way this guy is driving in the video he might as well buy a micra.....you need to drive it hard and it is fast.....it will go above your 55 mph speed limit!!
This depends on a lot of different things. If your idea of 'racing' is going in a straight-line from a stop, then yeah it's not the best for that. However, go on a winding road or a track and you can beat a LOT of cars that have more raw power due to superior handling and weight distribution. The MX-5 is also relatively low weight, so it's 'quick' for its engine power. Plus, its size can give a lot of advantages as far as precision driving goes. Also depends on the generation. You can get an NC MX-5 with a 6-speed 2.0l 170bhp engine, which is quite an upgrade from some of the earlier models.
Spencer Sheehan Can get it tuned up with aftermarket parts. 15 grand and my miata has almost as much hp as a mustang gt (425, mustang is like 430) and on top of that this thing can corner like it's on train tracks
Initially buying the car will be easy, at around £2,500 for a decent NB MX5. The real issue (in the UK at least) is insurance. Insurance on a 1.6l NB Miata for a newly qualified driver at 17 years old is around £4k! That just isn’t really sustainable when you think a sixth form or college student will only be able to work 10 or 25 hours a week respectively.
15 and currently have 1000 dollars saved up after a few weeks of working. parents will put in the other half so hopefully i can get a miata. great beginner car, can drift and drive on p's !
I honestly think it's better if your first car ISN'T a hatchback of a coupe... it should be a sedan imo or something of length so you get used to driving a bigger car, having your first car be REALLY small isn't necessarily a good thing for a new driver. Sure you will have an easier time parking and driving in it but that's WHY it's a bad idea to have a small car as a first car, you won't have been used to the spacial awareness of driving a bigger car and it's much easier to go from driving a big car to a small car if you have the experience. I'm speaking from someone who really wants to get a coupe as their first car because of styling but ill probably end up buying a sedan as my first then getting a coupe as my second
I get your point and i wanted a sedan as a first car for exactly that reason and my parents went ahead and bought me a hatchback for god knows what reason. Man i would love to have a long ass car
Insurance is one of the cheapest especially for an older model, super light cars, and I think the person who uploaded did a good job of explaining why this car can be safe
@@SuperMinecrafter200 it's true. I pay $23 for my insurance on it. My truck is $100 which surprised me. Love the Miatas I own a NB now and was my first bought car. Been trying to get it to run good so I can drive it.
My problem is not buying a Miata the problem is convincing my parents to let me drive it as my first car since its just been sitting in my garage un used for years it does need a few repairs tho but I told my mom that I would pay her back whatever the cost of the repairs were when I get a job but she it stuck on the fact that since its small is two dangerous
The biggest reason parents aren't going to like the Miata is because if you get in an accident, death or serious injury is a REAL possibility in the tiny car. ...avoidance, like in motorcycling, is your primary form of defense, and seeing as we're talking about a driver with no real experience, well maybe they should be driving something with a bit more of a crumple zone.
Yeah fair and all, but if you want a safe Miata you can get/make a safe Miata, the 2019 ND comes with side and front airbags if that’s in your best interest where money’s not an issue, but as for older miatas, eg;NA/B/C, with a roll bar, and decent road awareness the cars can be pretty safe, again though as I like to say, still, if a hummers coming at you at 80mph and T-Bones you, your Miata still would act as a fashionable, sporty coffin
I am lucky to have parents kind enough to pay for my insurance, but it really only bumped them up 40 dollars a month more, for just liability. So essentially I'd say 40-50 a month with just liability.
My parents completely refused, so my first car is a pretty abused Golf. Now I'm saving up and "negotiating" a loan from them to get one. Buying a decent Miata and running/maintaining it for a year costs around 6-7 thousand bucks around here.
0Some Plays but people like me live in the uk and they are fucking stupid when it comes to insurance because "younger drivers are more likely to be dangerous drivers" So the insurance will kill you
I have a 2000 ford mustang v6 convertible it's a badass car BUT I'm kinda getting tired of it. I love the looks it's mean but I've had it for 5 years (bought it when I was 17 as my first car) what's better mustang or miata? I don't really car about the speed, I only want it to be fun to drive
Zachariah Stgeorge, Well all insurance for first drivers is insane, it’s just a fact of life, but of all the cars out there the Miata is one of the least expensive, mainly due to the weight and a bunch of the specs as well
What's with people driving miatas saying they have good mpg? Most cars i know people drive can do 50-60 or more. My civic will easily do 70 plus, even 80 plus if you drive it careful on the motorway. 30mpg is like appalling.
The best thing; You dont have to give your friends a lift, only the hot one;)

Get new tires if you buy a Miata! Took a pretty wide corner in my 1990 after a few hours of rain going about 20 mph and still managed to get sideways
Garret Quinn Definitely, wider wheels and tires should be a first to get more grip out of this car. Coilovers absolutely hug this car to the ground.
My parents completely refused, so my first car is a pretty abused Golf.
Now I'm saving up and "negotiating" a loan from them to get one.
Buying a decent Miata and running/maintaining it for a year costs around 6-7 thousand bucks around here.
Going from a vtec civic to a Miata- gonna be my 3rd car :)
its impossible to get imsured on one of these in the uk
James McDonald Insurance is dirt cheap in US. I only pay roughly 100 bucks a month and I've got full coverage
0Some Plays but people like me live in the uk and they are fucking stupid when it comes to insurance because "younger drivers are more likely to be dangerous drivers" So the insurance will kill you
@Todoketamine £12k to insure when it costs £900 to buy one im not going to total the car 12 times with in a year like wtf
My concern about the miata is whether it will last in the winter when I'm daily driving it. Will it get rusty really quick?
You just earned a sub! I'm from Canada btw love your videos :)
Did you put any weight in the trunk while driving in winter?
im looking for a car right now and i am trying to decide between a cadillac ats or mazda mx-5 miata for my first car
ay both hands on the wheel! lol
Lol, during this video, I choked eating lol
Lol out loud
I really want a miata but apparently it’s not good in snow. I live in Canada. Idk I might get one 🤷🏼♂️
I would be moving to Canada within 9-10 months and I'm thinking of buying one when I arrive there it will be my first car. Would it be a good buy??
"You can't fit any bitches in a miata" -older brother
Would an year 14 model be good 2 have or would the payments and insurance be high?

Now you're reaching 🤓
It's my first car teaches you lots of responsibility from putting the top up correctly to making sure you turn the lights off
Any tips on convincing my parents to allow me to buy one ?
In the states you might be able to have one for a first car but the uk insurance will be too much for a normal person to afford
£12k to insure when it costs £900 to buy one im not going to total the car 12 times with in a year like wtf
Great video as always! keep up the great work!
What about the insurance for first time drivers ?
You expect me to use this for dates? You don't know the true power of lack of confidence!
Anyone know how much it cost to insure for an 18yr old with a nc?
Quick question. I’m 6 ft almost 6’1, will I even fit in that thing
it’ll be tight lol
My parents seem pretty chill on getting me a Miata for my first car, whats the best model for the £7000-£8000 price point?
GeorgeCan Quickscope if that's your price point you can get a NC Miata (mid 2000's) that's pretty decent
Mx5 is my first car I’m 16 7 months till I can drive 😎
Congrats on driving this month. As a 16 yr old I want a Miata too so what is the insurance like?
Zachariah Stgeorge, Well all insurance for first drivers is insane, it’s just a fact of life, but of all the cars out there the Miata is one of the least expensive, mainly due to the weight and a bunch of the specs as well
what year is it?
Why do you keep looking at the camera
In germany you learn to drive manual as an standart ;)
It's slow but that thing slides good
What's with people driving miatas saying they have good mpg? Most cars i know people drive can do 50-60 or more. My civic will easily do 70 plus, even 80 plus if you drive it careful on the motorway. 30mpg is like appalling.
