If you have BMW with 6 cylinder engine and you need to replace upstream oxygen sensor on BMW with N51 N52 N53 N54 N55 Engine that has been used in multiple models such as BMW E90 E60 X3 X5 E83 E70 E82 E65 E63 E64 F25 E61 we will explain in this video where oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1 is located and how to replace the oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1. The oxygen sensor is also known as O2 sensor or Lambda. We demonstrated how to remove oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1and how to replace oxygen sensor bank 1 sensor 1 and oxygen sensor bank 2 sensor 1on our N52 engine that is in 2007 BMW e90 325i but the oxygen sensor replacement should apply to multiple BMW 6 cylinder engines.

I stripped the second screw that holds that metal (the one furthest back) and I can’t get a good angle to get it out with pliers or anything else. Can I reach it from underneath? And any ideas on how to get it out

They are different. Upstream controls Air- Fuel Ratio, downstream monitors catalytic converter efficiency.
Hi do you know the o ring size of the o2 sensor that is connected to the exhaust manifold
O2 sensors generally don't have o'rings as they would melt due to the high heat. Atleast I've never heard of them.

Did u have any luck? I'm stuck on this very bolt. These small torx bolts are a nightmare, can't get proper grip and it keeps slipping and stripping!! Had to leave it for today I was getting so frustrated. Don't know what the purpose of that bracket is anyway. Very badly thought through by BMW engineers.
Buy or rent a low profile o2 sensor socket. Use some heat as well or some crayon wax "heated". And the sensor you are talking about is the actual o2 sensor or oxygen sensor downstream from the cat. The sensor forward of the catalytic converter is called an Air fuel ratio sensor or lambda sensor not oxygen sensor. Don't get these confused with each other as they look the same but do different things 👍. Hope this helps.

People need to stop calling Upstream sensors or b1s1 or b2s1 oxygen sensors. They are called Air fuel ratio sensors or lambda sensors. They tell the ECM how rich or lean the engine is running. Pure oxygen sensors are b1s2 or b2s2 sensors or downstream sensors. They tell the ECM how the cat is doing, thats it. Stop giving out false and misgiuding information!!.
This video does not apply to the N52 engine. The connection points for the o2 sensors are NOT on the top of the engine as is shown in this video. They are underneath the car and it is a much more challenging repair.
What is bank 1 sensor 2 and bank 2 sensor 2 ?
These sensors are placed further down the exhaust, and measure the exhaust gases coming out of the catalytic converters.
