Lovely tips Paul. I wish more magicians cared more about their magic than just the method and the effect and put effort into making their performances stronger.

Paul Daniels! You are a true living magic legend. Your show was the best magic show ever. Back in the early 90's, I used to sit with my family eagerly waiting for that show to come up on TV. Best wishes and regards from The Kingdom of Jordan.

Sometimes the skill is not in 'how' the trick is done, but in the creation of the deception.

Brilliant example. I have loved discovering all of the videos of your work online, and how you make even the simplest, classic tricks feel fresh and interesting. And thank you for doing these videos, teaching how to be a magician without revealing secrets online. So much help and inspiration as I develop my act.

Trey Paterson I think it is important, if you learn the real secrets about presentation, to pass them on. Thank you

I saw you talk through this in a very similar vein on Robert Llewellyn's carpool. It helped me huge amounts with writing a few card routines. Great to see you go into it in a bit more detail again. It's a really simple illustration of turning something simple into something powerful. Which makes you feel less like you're duping the spectators when you do a trick that takes very little skill.

i think adding a story to a trick make the trick last abit longer and makes it more magical for the guest.. I always work hard on making my routine better.

I heard before, that also professional magicians do technically simple tricks. But still I was quite surprised when I saw you doing a trick (coin wrapped in a paper), which I knew already for quite some time, but you perfomed it very differently: I just did the effect itself (most of the time even that did not work) and you made a 3minutes story out of it. Baffling or (in my case: bad) fooling - again.
    Thanks for the Vid.

I think this is such an important point that Paul makes. I recently had the fortune to see Paul at one of his Magic Days, see his website if you want more info!
He shared a lot of info regarding all aspects of magic and entertainment which I found invaluable, plus it was a chance to meet the most successful magician of my lifetime!
