There are country songs before that but from what my grandpa told me is this is when country music really started to gain more listeners. Patsy Cline was the epitome of country. She did a lot of stuff that crossed over very successfully because of her amazing voice. Patsy Cline with country singer. When Leann Rimes came into the country music scene she did this song and her vocals sounded a lot like Patsy’s and Leann was only maybe 14 when she did this remake.
