to be honest, no phone policy should be at any concert. People nowadays are only looking at their phones. without the phones they are living the concert instead
I dont agree, let everyone enjoy their concert on the way they want to enjoy it. Also i sometimes film something at a concert but still im very much able to enjoy the concert

Also people in the front row are usually the ones that film. If you stand on the sides or the back, it's kinda fine. But I am not there to watch your phone, I'm there to watch the concert.
People who went to parties before mobile phones had cameras know these parties were so much better. The vibes were just so much better. Only moment that comes close is the left-right moment @ defqon 1, because you just can't hold your phone.

This concert was the first live version he did. He did it a second time with phones allowed. He did not want any phones the first time because he knew people would upload it to social media and it would spoil the possibility to surprise with it being his first live version. The second time he did it live everyone started posting to social media, but the moment he started this song they uploaded this video. Ultimately creating hype for it being his "first" live version of Europapa. All the hype generated from people posting to social media went directly to that video getting it way more exposure. He is a marketing genius.

The concert was INSANE, I laughed, smiled, bassfaced and cried. It was beautifull and Joost can create such a safe feeling.
The no phone policy was implemented by having your phone put in a case that got locked so you couldnt get to your phone the whole show.
It made it feel like more of an actual rave as well. I loved it.
I even skanked (drum and bass step) with someone for a bit haha.
Best concert I have ever been to❤.

When you watch this and listen to this you just feel you are witnessing something really special. The connection between him and the crowd is so there and it’s so strong you even feel it sitting at home an watching it on your screen. Goosebumps really, Joost is a phenomenon!

Knowing his background stories (lost both parents at a very young age, got depressed and dedicated this song to his father) and being a Dutch native speaker myself, I thought, why not translate Europapa, explaining the deeper meaning of the song (no verified of course, but I think it makes a lot of sense.

No cell phone policy is to encourage everyone to enjoy the show, instead of scoring social media credits. Those few cellphones that might be there are either assholes ignoring the policy or (rather likely) part of the production crew.
I wasn't at this concert but at night 2, it was INSANE!! He is so so so good live and brings an amazing vibe. 12 POINTS TO THE NETHERLANDS! I have no doubt that Joost will do a fantastic job at eurovision, he is gonna kill it!!💋⭐️🖤

the night was filled with the best vibes and a lot of moshpits.
before this song started he asked the crowd to make moshpit for the clip and he got in there with a couple of friends who filmed in the moshpit for him.
it was hella busy like 3000+ people. the night after this he had a night with phones.

The no phone policy was bc of Eurovision where this song was originally made for as his parents wanted him to win to win one day his chance was snatched away by the ebu as he was disqualified for pushing a womans camera down as this woman had been bothering him during the time he was there after evey performance this Swedish journalist was waiting for him even tho the had made a rule not to film him after his performance wich she broke several time and was warned several times he was disqualified bc the woman had made a report about him to ebu the report was made as he “ threatened the woman physically” wich was proved as a false report and the investigation got dropped said by a dutch official absolutely absurd but i think the phone policy was therefore made thank you for the support love from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 ❤

I highly, highly recommend Leffe, it's a delicious Belgian beer especially the Triple, the Blonde and Bruin Leffe beers are also great. If you want good Dutch beer check out Hertog Jan, it's from the province of Limburg. If they have regional beers from the Netherlands you should definitely try those from Utrecht. I've had those gifted in a collection box, I reckon they'll probably have those in Brussels as part of a collection as well. Enjoy!

Hi guys, first of all it's great to see you drinking Belgium beer, great beer wrong glass !! The number "EUROPAPA" reference to the dad of Joost who past away when he was about 14 years old .
It's about the choices he could make during his youth... he want to leave the past behind him and looking forward the future. When he sings about Stromae's Papa Outé it points, to the loss of his dad. Also Stromae suffering to have no dad.
When you are in Brussels i recomended you to visit the Delirium-café and Le Cercuil (the coffin) where you can drink out of a skull !!

We Dutch people generally hate phones during concerts. It's quite common people ask "very directly because that's how we roll here!!" to put away your phone, especially if it's blocking the view.

I'm Dutch, but I'd say that you should definitely check out the Austrian song for Eurovision as well. It's got a lot of energetic Euro Dance vibes. The only thing I was missing was a rapper in the act. It is kinda close to the sound of 2 Unlimited. And since the Dutch may not vote for a song from their own country, I think I'd give 12 points to Austria. It's unfortunate that the vocals aren't done by Anita Doth, because there is no chance of beating her.

This is such a great song, and I’m not even a fan of the genre! I would definitely advise you to check out his performance from last year at Lowlands. Another amazing performance is De Staat’s performance at Lowlands, but if you just want to start with one song, my favourite live song by them is Input Source Select (live at Giel).

The moshpits do get insane here in the Netherlands.
If you want an idea you should look at some of the clips of crowdcontrol left to right or defqon footage in general (the crowd is visable on earthquake monitoring stations)
But they're generally pretty safe, ive never seen someone hit the floor in one, cuz halfway trough a fall you're already being picked up by those around you, strangers or not.

The country is called the Netherlands; not Holland. Holland is 2 provinces. Joost Klein is from another provincie called Fryslân (in Frysian language) or Friesland (in Dutch). Never say to a person from Fryslân he is from Holland. They might be offended.
In Dutch ´papa´ means ´daddy´. So he sings about his father who once tought him there are no borders (limits). No borders like now in the EU. His father died when he was only 12 years old. I guess, that's why you see the kid that looks like him and the old dude in the video. The title of the song translates as Eurodaddy. All in all it is well put together. I think this is probably the Eurovision song with the biggest personal touch ever! Even I, as an old dude myself (63 years old), I was really touched by his song. I recognized a lot in him. And I think many people who have had heavy traumatic experiences on a very young age and had to struggle hard to get the chaos sorted, also. I hope he will win... WELL DONE JOOST! GO FOR IT!
