she is fine af for a female... especially with the deep growls... very few vocalists i can compare her to, maybe christian evestam has deeper growls, and few others , but hard to come up with ideas... she is simple stunning and amazing !!!
*I like countless bands: Ensiferum, Amon Amarth, Helloween, Celtic Frost, Destruction, Carcass, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, etc... But by far, I LOVE ARCH ENEMY... I was lucky enough to see them in Chile a couple of times, but with Angela, who is amazing... But Alissa White-Gluz is simply power!!! Too powerful and beautiful to be from this planet... and what I like the most about ARCH ENEMY is that without losing their style or their usual essence, without selling out to pop or falling into monotony, they always sound fresh, innovative and with energy... I don't know how they can constantly renew themselves within their own style, and that's what I love about ARCH ENEMY... Excellent musicians all their members... Michael Amott is a genius, as is Daniel (great engine), Sharlee, jeff and of course the beautiful and powerful Alissa...*

The last album was weaker than usual and it seems this one will be too, metal is becoming angry pop it seems in the last 5-6 years, though some bands started to go back to writing interesting songs and albums again.

Deceiver was thrash/punk vibes, and House of Mirrors a little bit 80s and powermetal. What exactly are you loooking for? I think it's very fresh. 😁🤘 Keep on looking man... I agree, Will to Power didn't blow me away but it's good. I'm not going to sit here and be naive and think every album has to be better than the last. Besides, their most viewed songs are from Will to Power, how about that? I know Michael Amott can write amazing stuff. He writes, I listen. Same goes for Daniel Erlandsson, the drummer.
@@mikeh6286 I'm looking for riffs that aren't just triplets or some single note, simple rhythm on the lowest string of the guitar, palm muted or not, with some minor melody here or there, that have no intensity and are monotone/repetitive. Then the chorus is some held or spammed chords, usually 3 of them and maybe a simple 3 note melody on top of that. I bet these two singles and the last album were much easier to write than their previous albums. And yes, pop sells the most, along with hip-hop/rap and there is nothing wrong with that, but that's just boring for many, including myself and has almost no re-listen value. Literally most of Will to Power and these two singles would be considered generic metal in the 80s and would get no recognition, but since nowadays most other bands are even worse or are these "djent" style bands that take what I described to the extreme it's just alright music that I hear a few times and I don't want to listen to again. It's best shown with Trivium. They tried to write what I call "modern metal" with What the Dead Men Say album and then they went back to being excellent with the In the Court of the Dragon album. That's the difference. What the dead men say(album) I listened 6-7 times and I haven't wanted to listen to a single song from it, in the court of the dragon(album) I've listened a dozen times. The former is boring and simple, the later is interesting, varied and has a lot of relisten value.
Funny that you say that because I think this was the second song they released after a 5 year hiatus if I recall correctly. Which means this one like one of the ONLY songs they had released in years.
Arch enemy as usual never dissapoints, my fav band since i was a kid! On a side note, you guys have one of the craziest lead players in the world and he's essentially doing rythm guitars in the new songs lol
I was excited when Jeff's solo began, then it ended and never went anywhere. Meanwhile, Mike took two solos. Since he's been in AA he has been so underutilized it's crazy.
I love Jeff's tapping here absolutely bends my mind!!!. He, Alissa and Daniel killed that breakdown! I have to say though that after listening to this 100 times, I gotta say that Michael's first 4 second solo stands out as the most emotional stuff for me. He IS the boss! I can't listen to it without crying man... For me, it's a tribute to all the people we've lost. Musicians or not.
I think there is some professional jealousy happening,a bit of insecurity maybe.. if i was Jeff Loomis i would be pissed..if he bails out one day they will regret it.
_Amott wrote four other full songs in Mexico, then flew back to Sweden and, between gigs, continued writing in his home studio. Never ever ever been disappointed, but this newest album. I mean, it's not just my favorite metal album of 2022, it's by and far my favorite album of 2022 period!!!

I love me some Arch Enemy. They got me back into metal after I heard a few cuts off the first Angela Gossow albums. And Jeff is my favorite guitarist. No one even close. I just hope he writes more solo stuff.

Seriously, I think this is the next big hit after "The World Is Yours", absolutely fucking loving it! The chorus is especially outstanding, cant stop listening! Also, Alissa's growl just seems to grow by each Arch Enemy song!

Просто Арчи (по крайней мере в лучшие их годы) - это такой прям типичный метал (сферический в вакууме), которым его обычно все представляют. Отчетливые гитары, простая и понятная ритмичность и мелодика, кач и стадионные припевы (где нужно), обязательные соло, экстрим вокал - но без особых извратов. Т.е. с них хорошо начинать знакомиться с жанром, они будут просты и поняты многим слушателям.
Привет, именно через такие банды я переходил с рока в метал. Мишаня Амотов огонь, жаль только его брат Криська ушел, хотя он сейчас вроде как в Дарк Транквиллити жжет.
The way they lead into the chorus completely blows my mind. Also some themes of the song "leave" the guitar are sung and than taken by the guitar again. Jet guitar and vocals follow their own melody. Just 300IQ writing.
RUclips recommends it to me over and over, to save me time from looking it up myself again and again. It's not common that I listen to a song on repeat so much!

I wasn't that fond of Arch Enemy's tracks before but this album is a cracker ! If they retain this kinda sound that would make them one of the best metal bands of this era 🤘
Alissa is definitely one of the best singers in the heavy metal industry. Arch Enemy once again masterfully created a fine combination of different metal genres and delivered us a high-quality song.

This is some seriously catchy stuff! The best chorus I have heard out of AE and super stellar guitars, which makes me super excited for the rest of the album!
Such a brilliant song! In my opinion, it's about the inner reflections of a person that returns to their childhood home. It's a familiar feeling, yet so distant in the past, distorted with false memories that fill in the blanks. Will they enter, dare to untangle their origin story once again, and meet the person they once were?
Something about these singles that just sounds inspired, actually looking forward to this. The last couple were just missing a spark for me! Also would be wicked if Alissa used more of her range as in that scream at the beginning

i'm usually that guy who always criticize bands, claiming their older stuff is way better. but i must admit this one is my favourite arch enemy song so far!
The instrumentals are more boring and monotone, that's my problem with Will to Power and the new singles, with this one being the best, but still. Vocal lines and vocals as a whole are excellent as always though.
Idk dude. The newer material after War Eternal has become increasingly mundane and repetitive from an instrumental point of view. It's typical now. That said, I still love this chorus lmao. The screams are great, though not as good as Angela's.

This is my favorite Arch Enemy song in a while. The main riff is fucking epic. Alissa's vocals are on point. And the slower, heavier riff in the mid-section of the song calls to mind memories of moshpits at Slayer shows during "Angel of Death" The video is also really cool with lots of cool images and costuming present.
Very powerful stuff. I've known about them for 15y but I got into them 3 years ago and I still get chills. And I'm not talking about the singles anymore. The obscure other album tracks are amazing. Horns up🤘

While "Deceiver, Deceiver" and its fast goings still dominate the hype of the upcoming album, "House of Mirrors" offers more helping hands to ascend the hype even higher than it was yesterday with a vicious and melodious groove that never loses its footing even for a second. Arch Enemy, we sincerely hope you don't waste this unique momentum.
I'm ready to hear Alissa's clear voice with greater presence in Arch Enemy. Many would not agree but I would like to hear a variety of vocal techniques here. I hope it happens on this album, the previous one only gave us a song like that. Even if they don't ... Deceiver deceiber pleases me 100%.
Love the pace of this song, fast is always good but stepping it back a touch really lets these sick riffs shine, especially in the chorus there. And man... vocals are getting diverse, the opening and closing lines are absolutely gnarly and all around the screams are feeling very smooth and still visceral. I'm loving this and Deceiver Deceiver! Can't wait to see what else we got going forward. Good show!!
I've been into metal for over 30 years and I can honestly say that this is the greatest track I've ever heard. The opening riff gives me goose bumps every time 🤘🏻🦁

It’s better than 90% of melodic death metal-but Arch Enemy hasn’t written a classic album since Doomsday Machine. In their defense, EVERY album leading up to then was ALSO a classic. That’s SEVEN masterpieces in a row ‘n I am so grateful…even if they’re phoning it in these days
I've been listening to pure metal most of my life. I even caught up upon the greatest and creator Ozzy since I was 11. I'm Gen. X. I'm old ik but Arch Enemy are beyond almost all the old groups. They even brought back the original sound solos and all.. That singer blows me away, never would I have ever imagined a beast in female for. Made of dreams and whiskey.. Ty AE.

Спасибо, рад посмотреть на одну из немногих метал групп , которые мне нравятся, хоть я и не металлист. В них какая то светлая энергетика, позитив, совсем не вяжется с образом брутальной дэт метал банды. Да и Майкл Эмотт парень добродушный.
Просто Арчи (по крайней мере в лучшие их годы) - это такой прям типичный метал (сферический в вакууме), которым его обычно все представляют. Отчетливые гитары, простая и понятная ритмичность и мелодика, кач и стадионные припевы (где нужно), обязательные соло, экстрим вокал - но без особых извратов. Т.е. с них хорошо начинать знакомиться с жанром, они будут просты и поняты многим слушателям.
Привет, именно через такие банды я переходил с рока в метал. Мишаня Амотов огонь, жаль только его брат Криська ушел, хотя он сейчас вроде как в Дарк Транквиллити жжет.

I agree with a lot of people saying this has one of your best choruses to date. Very appealing stuff.
The way they lead into the chorus completely blows my mind.
Also some themes of the song "leave" the guitar are sung and than taken by the guitar again. Jet guitar and vocals follow their own melody. Just 300IQ writing.

Such a brilliant song! In my opinion, it's about the inner reflections of a person that returns to their childhood home. It's a familiar feeling, yet so distant in the past, distorted with false memories that fill in the blanks. Will they enter, dare to untangle their origin story once again, and meet the person they once were?

The instrumentals are more boring and monotone, that's my problem with Will to Power and the new singles, with this one being the best, but still. Vocal lines and vocals as a whole are excellent as always though.

This is my favorite Arch Enemy song in a while. The main riff is fucking epic. Alissa's vocals are on point. And the slower, heavier riff in the mid-section of the song calls to mind memories of moshpits at Slayer shows during "Angel of Death" The video is also really cool with lots of cool images and costuming present.
Also, the shriek at the beginning of the song is pretty epic.
The more I listen to this song, the more I love it!

Love the pace of this song, fast is always good but stepping it back a touch really lets these sick riffs shine, especially in the chorus there. And man... vocals are getting diverse, the opening and closing lines are absolutely gnarly and all around the screams are feeling very smooth and still visceral. I'm loving this and Deceiver Deceiver! Can't wait to see what else we got going forward. Good show!!

It’s better than 90% of melodic death metal-but Arch Enemy hasn’t written a classic album since Doomsday Machine. In their defense, EVERY album leading up to then was ALSO a classic. That’s SEVEN masterpieces in a row ‘n I am so grateful…even if they’re phoning it in these days
The albums might be weaker but every once in a while they drop amazing stuff like this song. I put this among the top 10 AE songs.
