Same, I just arrived home and saw the video. Now im here, in my opinion, the best zombie adaptation I've ever seen. I love watching peoples reactions to this movie.
The preventable nature is the point. This movie is an analogy for multiple public tragedies that have happened in South Korea due to the incompetence or selfishness of the involved authorities. Especially the Sewol Ferry incident, where over 300 high school students lost their lives because they were instructed to stay onboard as the boat sank while the crew fled. That tragedy happened just 2 years before this movie came out, so this was definitely social criticism.
Let me explain about the old ladies. Both of them is siblings. When they got separate, she thinks her older sister is dead, that's why she's quiet. She's grieving. The older sister did not try to kill herself. She use herself as a sacrifice to stall the zombies for few seconds to give the guy time to close the door. That scene was in slow motion. That's why that part wasn't clear. That lady give him time to pull everyone else inside. That's why her younger sister kinda cursed her, because she always helping people. Also the reason the younger sister open the door. For revenge against all the people who responsible for her sister's death. If they open the door earlier, her sister won't be death. The dad wasn't a terrible dad. You have no idea the cost of living in S. Korea. It's super expensive, especially if you raising a child and you're a single parent.
Regarding the dad not being terrible because the cost of living is high. Did you see that guy's house? He is well-off or at least upper mid class. He just has a job that requires a lot of work hours. He could get a new job that requires less hours if he really cared about his family.
@@abouttime2569 working a job that pays less isn't going to mean less hours. It's the work culture there. Part of the reason why their population is declining is because it's too expensive and nearly every boss expects the job to be your life. Even when you're off the clock they force you to go drinking with them. And this work culture is within practically every industry
@@lolaBee9 Bro I live in Korea. I know what you are talking about. But I have seen way too many people who never lived or barely lived in Korea always exaggerate a certain aspect of Korean culture after reading articles or watching youtube videos. It happens way too often. Yes I agree that kind of work culture exists. But it is not every company you know. There is still a lot of companies that don't do that. Stop generalizing everything. It is annoying and it is immoral at times to represent a certain group wrongfully after just reading articles or watching youtube videos. Misrepresentations happen way too often by non-Koreans almost all the time. Because they make way too many assumptions and generalizations. I apologize if I came off kind of aggressive, but I am just sick and tired of people just acting like they know stuff without even living in Korea as a Korean. It is just disgusting.
I think the older sister wanted to give up right in front of that door but then she took a glance and realize her younger sister was there then she decide to enter the room but it was too late the zombies caught her
The old ladies were sisters. The older sister had a bad leg and couldn't move very well. She knew if she tried for the door or if they came back for her, the zombies would get into the train car. Standing there gave enough time for the door to be closed. The younger sister, looking at all the selfish and uncaring people screaming and shouting, the ones who kept her sister out, decided they didn't deserve to live and with the death of her sister, she didn't want to live either. It's all there if you cut back on trying so hard to be funny and watch the movie. Don't force the comments and humor and don't fight the sadness. EVERYONE that watches this film feels it.
Fun fact. Ma Dong Seok (the actor who plays the husband of the pregnant lady) used to be an MMA trainer, notably for Champions Mark Coleman and Kevin Randleman.
Everytime I've seen a reaction of this movie, all the men turn into fanboys of Ma Dong Seok (the big buff guy) and honestly same he is the coolest character ever!!! 30:32
If this movie (and so many other apocalypse stories) has taught me two things it’s this: 1. ALWAYS get rid of the clearly selfish person in the group, they will inevitably screw over everyone and at least 60% of the people who died were directly due to the businessman 2. You want to try to save as many people as possible. Don’t make it a situation where you just needlessly kill someone because that will bite you in the ass later (seen by the older sister getting revenge for them sacrificing her sister).
@@DrawingPicture nope. You want to try to save as many people as possible, doesn’t mean you will be able to save everyone plus getting rid of the selfish person is directly tied into saving as many people as possible. The business man and how he acted was part of why so many people ended up dead. He actively sacrificed people like the operator and train conductor despite them helping him over and over.
@@sucreepark6260 Well lol More than half of their videos are them cracking jokes. If you just followed them I guess it makes sense you were annoyed. Not everyone needs to react the way you did, tho.
While he is not “directly” responsible, fund managers do decide where money goes and if he chooses to cut corners in funding security measures or towards a dodgy company that makes a zombie virus thing then yes they might have a degree of responsibility there.
I’ve seen this movie hundreds of times and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I have no bad things to say about this movie. Everyone that worked on it was amazing and this is the saddest zombie movie I’ve ever seen.
42:09 The 2 old ladies were sisters. That's why she was so sad when they were separated after they got off train. Then she finally saw her and they were almost reunited then she died.
One of my favourite films, and one of my favourite actors, Gong Yoo. It's soo good, and the military scene gave me nightmares. Also, somebody give that child actress an Academy Award.
I'm commenting before you've seen the next fight because with the exception of one reactor, everyone misses the fact the dad has been going full throttle against the zombies and the obstacles thrown at him. He just moved a weighty piece of metal and sprinted for the train while carrying his child and then fight zombies some more. Dude is beyond muscle fatigue. The zombie was going after the pregnant lady and to protect her, like he promised, all he had left was the hand over the mouth move. the man was spent.
I will watch ANYBODY do train to Busan because I don't know a single person that A) didn't enjoy any of it or B) didn't sob like an absolute baby at the end. An absolute masterpiece of a movie.
It always annoys me that parents assume their kids are thick, they are not and I will not be gaslighting my daughter her whole life like my parents did me. The worst thing I used to hear my mum say was "well tough" or "because I say so',. My daughter will not have this happen to her I explain every decision to her and why I've made it. I explain that it doesn't seem fair but it's right becuase. Great reaction guys this is one of my fav all time movies

I love this movie so much especially the little girl, she is a great actress and was so young as well. Btw ur question about Korean names having meaning, the answer is yes that's why when spelling the names they are either - or are spelled with each 2 or more syllables and each one is capitalized. For example, my Korean name is spelled, Mi Hae or Mee Ae, as in the word Mi, means beautiful and Ae, means love, ('Sa Rang Hae' means 'I love you'). So put together means Beautiful Love. Many Korean parents pick the babies name by what attributes or personality they want their baby to have. I have an older brother whose name is Byeong Kyu, which means, standard bearer of strength or specifically means, person whom embodies or sets the standard for strength and courage, leading by example, which my parents knew they wanted two kids and they wanted instill these properties onto my brother thru his name they have given him. But, many countries also do this as well where names have meanings like my daughters name Ravyn comes from old English/Hebrew origin, which is also a feminine version of the more masculine name "Raven." With this more feminine spelling also changes the meaning of the name as well in that, it means a girl who has dark haired and is of natural beauty, has wonder, wisdom and is mysterious. So I chose this name cuz I wanted my daughter to grow up knowing she is strong, intelligent, and and can be a little cheeky and have hidden charms too. So far, this name is very fitting for her at just 5 years old in that she already embodies all of these qualities that is in her birth name lol.

So if you sever it, it should stop it's movement, which is why you always headshot and doubletap the brain. 31:36 all able-bodied korean men are ex-military as enlistment is mandatory, but I guess you meant like actually ex career military man.
so 42:31 1st old lady sacrifices herself, she lets the zombies come to her so they concentrate on her giving the rest enough time to close the door, the younger sister is selfish by nature, and fed up with how selfless her older sister was, and she feels the people in that car are to blame for her sister's death, so she doesn't care if they die.
