This movie has altered my brain and I do not drive behind trucks with anything on the back of them anymore :) I like to think this is a universal experience. Also hope you two are having an amazing 1st day of July! Love yalls energy :)
To me the most traumatazing death its the one guy that throws away spaghetti from the window and then while running away from death fucking slips and the stairs goes right into his eye.
16:32 "I didn't realise it was paranormal" Guy in beginning of the movie gets a vision of plane exploding and it happens to be true. Nick: Nope, nothing paranormal here.
I love this series so much, but it does kinda suck how the first movie is clearly paranormal like Death is actually making their deaths happen. Then it’s brought up in the second but there’s no paranormal occurrences actually taking place. And it’s pretty much forgotten in the rest of the movies. Nothing like the first bathroom scene ever happens again 😢
@@Jiareirda That's because the third movie was supposed to be the end of the trilogy, but they decided to make it a stand alone movie, set with the same premises as the other two, so they probably just retconned some stuff, like the more paranormal deaths.
@@Jiareirda Do you think all the deaths in the other movies are all coincidences & are just accidents? All the movies are paranormal just this 1 they show death.
@@jayman9910 well, I know what you mean! I’m just pointing out that in the first movie Death is clearly an entity out to get them by tampering with the outside world to create these “accidents” while it’s mentioned in the second and is just a tiny cameo in the third. By the time you watch the fourth and fifth movies, other than the original premise of the first psychic vision, nothing is technically paranormal about their deaths. From the third on, the deaths are really just freak one in a billion accidents. Like I said, I love these movies I just think they could’ve stuck to some of the original ideas more!
@@Jiareirda well according to some info about the unreleased Final Destination: Bloodlines movie, all characters across all of the different movies belong to the family tree of an individual cursed by death (so death is therefore killing everyone connected)
The film is based on an actual event, the explosion of TWA FLT 800, a Boeing 747-100 that subsequently crashed into the Atlantic near East Moriches, New York, on July 17, 1996, 12 minutes after takeoff from JFK, on a scheduled international flight to Rome with a stopover in Paris. There were no survivors. Parallels between the movie and the actual event include the type of aircraft involved, departure airport, both planes had students heading to Paris for a class trip, both planes exploded not long after takeoff and the cause of the explosion was the same in both cases, I believe. The news report Alex watches shows actual footage of TWA FLT 800's wreckage burning in the water. I would imagine the relatives of those killed probably weren't fans of this movie. Another thing I noticed about the film are the frequent references to water. Water is everywhere. Water is commonly a symbol of death, burial and resurrection. Death seems to be personified by water in the film. Seems like it was raining at the airport. The plane's wreckage falls into water. There's the water in the bathroom when Tod dies. There's a scene with Alka-Seltzer being dropped into a glass of water. There's the steaming kettle and the water leaking from the cracked mug. Alex almost drowns in shallow water. There's the canoe trip. There's the swimming-pool. It's raining when they're in the car. One of the characters is even named "Clear Rivers." Even the beer they're drinking could be considered water. Likewise, the Vodka, which means "water" in Russian, I believe. "Water, water, everywhere and all the boards did shrink." Also, all those electrical events in the film are analogous to water. Electricity is commonly analogized to water, e.g., electrical current etc. So, electricity = water = The Grim Reaper. It's great to find all this symbolism in a film that's primarily meant to be a good, albeit somewhat gruesome, entertainment, which it is. Of course, there's also the somewhat more obvious references to the number 180, John Denver, who died in a plane accident, etc. Oh, don't forget six months = 180 days, guys! Another thing I saw was the use of German language and references to German filmmakers who were known for some famous, what you might call, horror movies. "Der Tod" is the German word for "death." Tod's the first survivor to die. In real life, if I were him, I wouldn't like that name and would have been very concerned from the get-go after the plane exploded. The character of male teacher Murnau, who died on the plane, is almost certainly a reference to F. W. Murnau, the German director regarded as one of the most influential filmmakers for his work in the silent era. He famously directed "Nosferatu," a film about a vampire. Agent Schreck is a reference to the German actor Max Schreck who played the vampire, Count Orlok, in "Nosferatu." Interestingly, "Schreck" in German means "scare" or "fright." Agent Weine must be named after Robert Weine. He directed "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari," another German horror movie. Also, the surnames of the other characters in the film had associations with real people involved in the past production of Hollywood horror/thriller films. A sort of tip of the hat to them, I suppose. Yes, everyone gets a kick out of the line "Are there any survivors?" Ah, NO! It blew up in the air. But, you know, I wouldn't put it past someone actually asking that question, especially a reporter. Alex is easy on the eyes, too, with a nice a$$, an added bonus. Oh, after the train crash, look at Carter's pants.
If you don’t know, the mortician is the original “Candyman”. The actor, Tony Todd also had a role in the original “The Crow”. - some people play a drinking game with these movies: see the vision, make your guesses, take a drink.
okay so I recently went on a plane for the first time and one of the in flight movie options was THIS MOVIE. the flight was only like 2 and a half hours too but I was panicking.
Nick and Cory not realizing this movie was pre 9/11 is kind of funny. America used to be so mellow about plane crashes, because anytime someone took over a plane it would be seen as a hostage situation or escape plan. But looking back at movies like this it's still kind of jarring
The reason the deaths are so crazy and Rube Goldberg-ian is that that is the whole point. Fun. The whole thing is for the amusement of death. Including the visions and watching them struggle.
The reason Clear called Alex “Baby” is actually all shown in a deleted scene that they should’ve really kept in otherwise it would’ve made more sense. They hooked up during that beach scene

"this went from oh it's a turbolence to ppl are exploding" yeah... that's usually what happen when an airplane explode, an airplane didn't explode without a previous turbolence.
I like movies like this because you really can’t say “well that doesn’t make any sense” because throughout the franchise they make it known that death will do anything to get you. An example is when the water was following Tod. So when something seems a little silly or unbelievable I’m like you can’t say anything bc it’s just death being an asshole and manipulating physics lmao
