Her left hand is like swimming over the piano and the right hand is dancing. Just watch a bunch of her videos and you will see what I mean. Her style is very different and has recognition value. She is such an inspiration.
Chopin is my all time favorite composer. The way you play him is truly breathtaking. And I don't think I've ever heard anyone play him as well as you do. Thank you, Valentina.
After playing the piano for over 20 years, life sorta got in the way and I found myself not playing at all for many, many years. THIS is the piece that brought me back to the piano. I HAD to play this. I can feel this piece in my bones. Valentina, I love your interpretation.
What a lovely tone for this music the Pleyel has: and what a beautiful, sensitive performance; very free and personal but at the same time completely respectful. Thank you Valentina.
Valentina , you are the best this interpretation is the most beautiful of all i listened . thanks for up this class of videos .A lot of hugs from Valencia, Spain
Snobbery, most likely. Alas, the world of classical music is infested with snobs. You may or may not have noticed that this video already has two "dislikes"? Plus many snobs think "easy to play" is the same as "not worth listening to". Pathetically wrong, but that is their mindset.
People don't understand that there is a difference between playing a piece and mastering it... And i'm also pretty sure half the people who call this piece easy can't even play it.
I am crying, Valentina, knowing that you played this in memory of a very close friend of yours who passed away. This piece is just so sad and I can clearly hear your sorrow through the piano. It reminds me of how everyone I love and can't imagine living without will one day inevitably leave me... Such is the sheer power of music
Hello, dear Valentina! Thank you For Your beautiful and brilliant piano playing!!! I love You very much, with all my heart and soul!!! Thank God we have You!!!
Ah, perfect for a sunny afternoon here in Los Angeles. Sunny, 71 degrees F, and now this wonderful performance to listen to. My three cats approve >^..^
I just listened to it, and it is absolutely beautiful! I was wondering, could you record some of Volodos's work? It would be amazing to hear you play his interpretation of Mozart's Turkish March. Anyway, as we say in Greece, Καλό Μήνα! This means 'Good Month'. Best of luck on future concerts! :)
This is beautiful. His best work, I think. And I am glad to see that you will learn some Debussy this summer! YAY! Reverie and Clair de Lune are my two favorites with Arabesque No1 coming in close third. But, anything you play of his music or anyone else's I am very happy to listen to and you will not get any complaints from me!
This would make a great encore after playing the F minor concerto, since it contains a tiny sampling of thematic material that was later used in the concerto.
That's a very elegant dress you were wearing Val .. This comment is for the appearance this time (by the way, are you conceiving ..?)... but concerning the music you used to interpret,, this is over any comment of course.. thank you dear.
Hi Valentina, I have saw many of your videos, but I never saw Debussy :o ! It could be very nice if you play some piece like Arabesque or Valse Romantique :). Pierre , a faithful subscriber
His hands float on the keyboard in a harmonious swim over the musical notes
She has such good taste. Doesn't rush things, and is at the right volume at the right time. If only she played more good music like this, instead of Liszt and Rachmaninoff all the time.
Wow, that is a good start 0:04 . I just don't like some bits where she's moving too freely but aside that she's profusely breathtaking. 0:44 then at 1:12

Chopin would have adored You, Valentina!

Not the same history of you, but this nocturne also brought me back playing after a fist injury...

Honestly why is there always one sick guy in the audience at every piano recital? Is it the same guy going to every recital? I bet it is.
Haha I was thinking that too. THANKYOU
It’s mostly older folks in the audience.
They are often times coughing everywhere you meet them.
Like seriously, stop the coughing lol 😂
What a lovely tone for this music the Pleyel has: and what a beautiful, sensitive performance; very free and personal but at the same time completely respectful. Thank you Valentina.
Elegance, personified at the keyboard by one of the most graceful and sensitive of pianists. Kudos, Valentina!

I love your Chopin. And that piano is fantastic!!
happy birthday chopin ^^
Thank you Valentina! Touches my heart in all kind of ways.
The perfection
Valentina, inspiring as always!
I don't get how people call this the 'easiest nocturne'
To play this dynamically 100% perfect is something barely the professionals can do

Nocturne op.9 no.2 is so much easier!
It's easy to listen to.
Technically it’s very simple but dynamically it is one of the trickiest nocturnes out there. I have hardly scratched the surface of it.
I am crying, Valentina, knowing that you played this in memory of a very close friend of yours who passed away. This piece is just so sad and I can clearly hear your sorrow through the piano. It reminds me of how everyone I love and can't imagine living without will one day inevitably leave me...

Beautiful...
Ye
I love this piece... it's one of my 1000 goals 🎹🎼
Erik Satie haha no 😂 well might be that they are 1000 in the end but it was rather a metaphor for a lot...

I just love how she plays the piano, it is outstanding
My birthday, too! Thanks, Valentina!
You are an amazing musician!!!
Gracias ". Es maravilloso escucharte.

Please listen to Valentina playing List's Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2!! Nobody plays it like her - not even Hamelin!
play fantaisie impromptu in your next video please :)
I love how her left hand swims from 2:06
You are the best my Diva
when exactly was the concert?
WOE is it with Chopin the the hits the deepest emotional pit of the stomach?
love you .b
I swear by Apollo, the god of music, that her fingers are not touching the keys; there is a cushion of air between the two.
I just wonder...How can someone play these very difficult piano compositions without a book? Must be the 40 years of playing experience, yes?
Muscle Memory
The "Beast" piano, no?
Wlodek now is happy
:)
Happy Birthday to me!
Her fingers just float
Sounds like a very old piano... and I mean that in a good way.
why you are playing it better than me ..... . am so sad i practice 200 hours and at endyou play it better
she probably has 20000 hours of practice now. Time flies my friend

great interpretation and nice shoes too. At 4.10, coughing guy please leave.
2:58 she omits the trill. Oddly enough, she doesn't omit it in another interpretation of her ruclips.net/video/1ViNpeR20l8/видео.html
The d# version is the worst version
How is it not obviously a misprint or typo on a copy? Come on... it sounds grotesque
She’s picking a fight with Chopin
