Good to see you at the PRGE John. It was great as usual and thanks for all the help you provide for putting the show together. Looks like you were sitting right behind my brother and I (he was wearing that blue Star Wars shirt) at the Nolan Bushnell panel. And yes, I did get Nolan to sign my Atari Fiber Optic Sign at the Atari booth. It was cool to display it at the show again!
I’ve been slacking my whole entire gaming life (age 37) when it comes to attending one of these conventions/expo’s. I’ve really gotta change that going into 2025. Awesome footage man.
John as you know I was there all weekend, and I saw you at your booth talking to customers and fans and focusing on your game. Was great to meet David Crane and Garry Kitchen as well! So great to have met you and to have purchased a copy of your game as well! Thanks to everyone that makes Portland so great!
Looked like a blast! Definitely have to get out there one year. The displays looked awesome. I would pick up Vectrex games there! A few Homebrew ones I need for the set.
Omg the 7800+ looks gorgeous! And Nolan Bushnell on the stage floor, amazing! 8 years ago we, at the IEEE Games Technical Committee R9, for the video game track wanted to give him a recognition prize from the Mendoza University at the Argencon 2016 Congress, but was really difficult for many reasons, and only was done symbolically. Just WOW, thanks John!
PRGE never gets old! Thank you John for signing my copy of Block ‘Em Sock ‘Em god the 7800. This year I purchased games for my 2600, 5200, 7800 and Vectrex. I had to fight the urge to get the copy of Berenstain Bears for my KidVid.
Looks like a fantastic expo and definitely a lot of items I would love (would have to make sure I bring some spending money if I can get over there next year). Loved the size of the arcade area and of course all the Atari, Intellivision and Vectrex homebrews. Might need to save up a lot ;)
Nice over view video of PRGE. I have been going for 11 years now and help out with the RetroCade keeping that up. I also brought Police Force pinball machine that was on the corner of the P.A.C.s booth this year. Next year I just need to say hello to you I have seen the videos you done in the past and even seen you plenty at PRGE and never have said hello. It is a poor excuse of I was busy the whole time at PRGE should at least say hi and I will slap myself if I do not do so for next year as I never miss a PRGE it is to much of a good time and feels like a really good family reunion when going.
Great to see you this past weekend, John! Congrats on the auction wins too! Glad you got to try the pumpkin bread before it was gone this weekend lol. We need to get together more often than just PRGE. Let me know when you’re in my neck of the woods.
Oh heck, I forgot to look up if you'd be there! I was there on Sunday and I'm sure I saw you at the booth but it didn't click. Was a bit focused on not dying in my FFXIV cosplay in my corset lol
Awesome convention it had everything! Oh VHS tapes! You went to fast on the big cardboard boxes I get it's a videogames channel but still. Thanks for sharing your adventures at the convention for us that can't go John!👉🏼🙂👈
Always a pleasure seeing you, John. I have already got those ROMs I purchased from you loaded up on my Anbernic handheld. Great event this year, and your display of the games from '94 was more fuel for the nostalgia fire... yet I am still waiting on that $250 you owe me for re-awaking my love for the 2600, and "forcing" me to get the Lego version of the console. All joking aside, love your content and thanks again. I assume you will be at SideQuest expo again?
Out of all the “Johns” there I only talked to Johnny Millenium, missed you and Riggs lol. But yea what a showcase I’m a 90s kid and hunt SNES/PS2 mostly but I have to say that all the Atari setups we’re incredibly cool
He's so down to earth and humble, I met Johnny Millennium at a Denny's on the morning of the first day with my brother and Mom and both think he's awesome.
I was there for Saturday and would have liked to meet you and Metal Jesus but never had the opportunity. I did see Radical Reggie napping at the Johnny Millennium panel, if you can count that as a funny moment. Also the fire alarm canceling the Mortal Kombat panel was the worst part of my visit.
Looking at the footage, and being from EU myself, I'm baffled how many exhibitors apply stickers to their wares.. be it easy-to-removed ones or not, if they are on there long enough you'll see a difference in discoloration. That's a huge pass for me personally. I've also seen a lot who stickeres right on the boxes of games. I just don't really understand those sellers, why would you do that? If the box is sealed I'd be cool, but right on the cardboard? Apart from that it must be awesome to be there. What a great vibe. I'm a bit envious we don't have that over here, even if the retro fairs we do have get better and better!
Was super cool to see you there! Such an awesome event :)
Oh my! I wish I could be there!
Thanks for this video John!
:D
It was a blast this year! In fact, I saw myself twice in this video! :) Can't wait for 2025!

I hope so too!

Thanks for your ,Portland Retro Gaming Expo Recap , I collect intellivision, colecovision and Sega Genesis for now
Got to meet & greet Nolan Bushnell this summer at Classic Game Fest in Austin. He did a great panel there and he signed my childhood 2600.

PRGE is definitely on my bucket list. I haven't been able to get up there yet but looks awesome the last 2 years.
Awesome video John!
I, unfortunately, had to miss it this year. Thanks for the video! I can't believe the year I can't go is the year Nolan goes to PRGE!
Another convention/expo with John Hancock
Sorry to miss ya this year John, but really cool of you to showcase some of your boxed games in the museum.

I didn’t win the auction items but was asked to go up to be a commentator for the mystery box
@@johnhancockretro ah ok! I thought you had won it for some reason. The person snagged a good box!

I want to get a bunch of aftermarket games but it’s not clear what will or won’t play on these devices
John, great videos man. Your videos make my day!
Join me watching the “The Intellivision Dude” show everyday from 6:30-9:30pm EST!
I like that channel. Lots of good info that has helped inform me on the Intellivsion.
John. Can you pls join his channel to just say hi?
@intellivision dude

Pity that you missed the interview with James of ZPH.
I still collect PS Vita, PSP, Saturn & DreamCast, PS2, 3 and 4, GameCube, OG Xbox and NGPC! 😎 Plus the occasional GBA and Nintendo DS. 🙄
As big as the vendor hall was, there was a severe lack of TG-16 representation. Other than that, the con was amazing.
East coast has more of that

Check out Sac Gamers Expo. I’ll be the sponsor this year.
Would love to, but a bad time of year for me
I enjoyed the content of the video but...where's color? It's almost black and white.
Looking great on my end and got others to check and it was fine. Must be your monitor? This was a 4K video and can be adjusted down to 1080 as well
Unbelievable how many people still wear masks. 🙄
