I am a new homeschool mum. My daughter is 9 and I pulled her out of school before Christmas for a number of reasons. Your videos have been really helpful and inspiring, so I’m glad you’re back

I can't tell you how great it is to be connected with a UK Christian home ed mum, even just through youtube. I thoroughly enjoyed your morning time walk through, adding more items to my list, particularly the Action Bible colouring books and catechism work books.

We finally pulled our 3 oldest from primary school in January. It has been on our hearts for 5 years, since our oldest began reception, but it was still such a big step, we were well connected at the school, our children were doing well academically. But what a relief to have them out of it (especially our 8yr old girl). We are so new to this and i'm still very much in the school mindset. It will take time, i need to deschool myself. Videos like yours and the comments here give me even more hope 😊

Thank you so much Blossom Schoolhouse for continuing with your videos and sharing homeschooling from a UK perspective. Its so encouraging to me as a homeschooler in Suffolk, in our first year homeschooling our 4 year old (Reception year) and having our 2 year old join in too. Your videos are really helpful, beautiful and give some great ideas for resources.

@@blossomschoolhouse6059 we use Reading Eggs (which includes fast phonics, maths seeds and reading express for older kids), Numerise (Web based) for maths for my eldest along with White Rose Maths textbook (he is year 7), we use Oak National Academy (Web based) to back up French on Duolingo, Geography (we also use textbooks, maps etc) and History (we also use textbooks) - Oak National Academy use quizes on Quizlet after the video to make sure they learnt! We use Theatre of Science - Lara is fun and funny and both my kids (6 and 11) absolutely love her, she is free on RUclips and Facebook, and does the learning sheets for you to print out to go along with the lessons, you can choose to support her (we do £5 per month and you get a bimonthly magazine), we also use tt rockstars (£7 per year) turns learning timetables into a game and all of my kids love it :) xx

Hi there lovely ❤ Great to have more videos from you again. They really are a wonderful watch and fill me with so much inspiration.
It's really refreshing and down to earth to hear about your season of life right now and how it's made sense for your family not to stick exactly to the schedule you once had. I'm really interested to hear more about it in upcoming videos and how you decide what is best for your family as you go through different seasons of life xxx

Thank you so much for posting! I love your videos. I’ve been following for 2 years. My very first homeschool video I came across was your Leeds castle video and I fell in love and said to myself that’s the kind of life I want with my children. None of the rushing here and there to school and afterschool activities. I have two girls same age as yours. We’re living in the US now but I love seeing your resources that are different and much more in line with our learning philosophy. I’m also guilty of falling into the traps of feeling like we have to finish this or that curriculum and have to stop and think about what is really important. We struggle to have a consistent schedule, I think that’s my issue. I feel like we have to follow a consistent routine but we rarely do. I liked your idea of the planner as a record keeping instead of a to do list but I found I kept admonishing myself for not getting to do this or that thing 😅I try to put that in my prayers. I really liked your christian resources in this video I’m going to look into them. Love they have colorful pictures. Thanks again so much for sharing! ❤

I have been home educating my 2 children since July 2021 and now feel confident to answer questions to others lol … we use good & beautiful curriculum, children in nature , and abc mouse app, we were using Nessy and Tt rockstar maths, we have a few struggles with dyslexia, asd, adhd odd so finding ‘ our’ path hasn’t been easy but think I’ve got a good grasp of it now xx lovely to see you back xx

This has really resonated. I had recently been putting so much pressure on myself and my daughter to complete all the curriculum by a certain date, doing a certain amount each day and feeling like I had somehow failed if we didn't accomplish the task. Then something twigged. It is about creating a lifelong love of learning that is most important. Everything else falls into place. Glad you are posting again😀

Always been home ed 9yr and 4yr old. I go in and out of curriculum not always because it's not working just sometimes nice to match an interest or a trip. We usually use history quest but as my daughter did a workshop at the British museum on ancient Greeks we have put that aside for a little while to explore a little more. She also does lightning literature but recently she was inspired by the podcast story pirates so is making her own book with writing and pictures. The one constant curriculum that we never go away from is the G&tb maths, we love this, other maths activities are done on top but it's never put down. This is what I love about home ed you can go where either your children take you or stick to a curriculum, you can quicken the pace or slow it down when required.
