I am happy that not all people are like that. And that is why Lunita found her Forever Family, and got to live in peace and love for the rest of her life, and when she died, she was surrounded by true Love.
Let's not dwell on her sad past... let's be happy for the wonderful years she had after that time!

My question would be, what would Lunita want?
One can ask the question, what would YOU want if you were in a wheel chair, on the verge of death, covered in a skin disease that brought you misery, but suddenly some people stepped forward to save you and bring you back to health, so you could leave for 10 years surrounded by people who truly loved you?
Would you accept their love, or would you allow yourself to be put to sleep?
Seeing the look of joy on Lunita's face tells me all I need to know.

don't forget that there are so many animal species on this earth.
The dog would be immediately put to sleep if she dropped it on a dog pound/shelter. Disabled dogs are too much work for the volunteer workers and hogged resourves. The former felt that the dog has a better chance being adopted by a random person than in dog shelters.
When you decide to get a dog , care love till forever.
But this dog needs more care and extra expenses. It is better to give it up so it could be taken care of if the owner could not afford it!

I certainly wasn’t expecting the ending. We recently had to let our nearly 14 year old Sheltie go and this video hit me hard. I hope Lunita is running around in heaven without her wheelchair. ❤️

Me too I lost my best friend of 14.5 years. It was the worst experience of my life. I never want to go through that again. It's one thing to lose a human. You can talk about it and come to terms with it. You have no way to explain it to your dog friend. Being a responsible adult and having to make the decision to put her down gave me so much guilt like I wasn't trying hard enough to save her and not being able to convey to her good bye until I meet you in 40 years. Still up to this day thinking about her face that day at the vet bums me out so bad. I love my wife but I really loved my dog.

You don't know what the owner went through. If you don't have money, you hope the dog will find a better place and it did. Looks like a place where a lot of people pass. The owner did a good thing for the dog. They themselves are maybe stuck in poverty forever c

Some pet owners abandon their pets not because they want to. Financial struggle is often a big problem and a pet costs can go into the thousands. This girl was already very old and had many medical issues.
Of course it isn't fair, but I can imagine her former owners loved her dearly. They simply could not finance her treatment any longer.
The way she looked so happy at her birthday party. Wow. She was obviously so loved by her family. RIP sweet Lunita.
I hope they tried for a few more years and not put her down 😟. 12 years old isn't that old, my cat died at 15 back in 2014!
@@svasianfilipiname6603 yea but if any animals severely ill and in excruciating pain, it’s best to put them down. i’m not saying that Lunita was bc i don’t know the whole situation and have only watched this video. i just think that if she was dying or if she was in so much pain that it was even difficult to live at that point, the best option was to put her down

I am literally crying and I am so grateful for the people who showed this little angel love. It's a cold stark reminder of the many, many, animals out there that have lived and died having never once felt the loving touch of a human hand. It's such a terrible thing to know that this story, her story, is one of the luckier ones. I would love to see the day that animals who are abused would be a rare and unheard of tragedy.

Yes Beautiful 😍, I know what it feels like to love a fur baby so much, mine passed May 2020 and his sister December 2012 and there is not a day that I do not think of them. I am a BETTER HUMAN BEING BECAUSE OF THEM💯💓
She made it to 11 despite all her troubles which is pretty amazing but I still blubbed like a baby when it said they decided it was time to let her go.

I feel like the most upsetting part about all this is that you can tell her previous owners tried, but gave up on her.
She had diapers, meaning her owners used to change them for her. She already had a wheelchair, and although it was broken, it does go to show that they bothered to buy her one in the first place.
I'm under the assumption that the work became too much for them and they gave up, or some sort of live event forced them to give her away. Either way, it's super upsetting. The only thing more upsetting than a dog being abandoned by its owners, is a dog being abandoned by its once caring owners

And just think how heartbreaking feeling for Lunita it was, bcs dogs understand everything and he understood that her owner doesn't love her anyone now.Might be she was waiting for her so called caring owner and kept thinking that the person would come to bring back her home. OMG......i am crying bro. But loving part is, she got rescued by human masked God, who brought back happiness, love , everything back in her life again. And hopefully She forgot about her past, and passed away with a smile. Her 11th birthday pic in front of the cake says everything about her happiness. But it would be good if she would still alive . Lunita's story is so heartbreaking, and it's more upsetting to know that there are still animals/dogs out there that are suffering from the actions of humans. I'm glad that Lunita was so loved by her family before she left!

Humans are so selfish. First they'll breed these animals on purpose and then separate them from their families. These innocent creatures depend on us for their well being yet so many of us abandon them just like that. If you are getting a pet in your house then make sure you are ready for a long term commitment, they are not just for playing and for your entertainment, they are just like your own kids. You need to take care of them with full responsibility.

She wasn't treated that badly; she had a wheelchair and diapers. The person that gave her up was probably in many ways more broken than her. Probably homeless and mentally ill. Use your eyes.

@Vakond Simple you are right.. what i actually meant was that we humans can survive on vegetables but animals can't. They can only survive on meat.. They are made by god in such a way that they don't eat vegetable. So for them eating meat is justifiable. But we humans can definitely survive on vegetables. But we eat meet intentionally... and plus humans have been using animals for their needs... and i basically was targeting on those people who torture animals instead of loving them... so peace.. totally agree to your point too...

Animals are so pure in heart and their love is unconditional. Thank god Lunita found a wonderful family in her last years. I can only imagine the pain of letting her go. It’s haunting .
I can only imagine how stressful and traumatic it must have been for her to see everything around her change, so frequently, without having a clue as to what was happening and what would happen next. No matter how much you love dogs, caring for one is hard work and definitely takes more than just love. Please, dont ever get one if you think you wont have the time and dedication.
It can be extremely, extremely tough mentally, physically, and monetarily to care for a disabled pet. So while I can't fault those who gave up, I CAN fault them for leaving her out on the street. Folks, if you're unable to care for a pet, leaving them on some street corner isn't doing them any favors. Lunita eventually survived this and found a family that cared for her for the rest of her life, but nine times out of ten - most pets don't have such a happy ending. Take them to a no-kill animal shelter if at all possible. Do what you can to make sure that pet is able to live on without you. Your lack of desire, time, or money should not be their death sentence.
I agree! Well said. And I really hope that one day no animals are abandoned and left out to die, I wish that every animal who doesn't feel loved gets to feel loved and that every animal in pain doesn't have to feel pain! ❤

This provides additional ways to train in addition to the two obedience classes my sicx month old belgian malinois has already attended. Despite having dogs my whole life, i have been voraiciously reading dog training and psychology books lately given my little "maligator" has a mind of her own (extremely smart but obstinate) , and this one ranks among the best.
I cant believe how mean people are in this world. Dogs are our children. So sad everything she went through. God Bless you to the people that took care of her. RIP sweet girl. 🙏
So glad that she eventually got to have the love of a family. Even though it was only for a short part of her life . She passed away with a loving family to support her .

The tears I'm shedding are tears of, of course a little sadness, but mostly of joy and thankfulness. Joy because Lunita got to experience the true love and care of a forever home and thankfulness that there was an amazing person that brought home and made her part of the family. She finally received the unconditional love that she undoubtedly gave with her whole heart and she didn't have to die alone or in pain. Thank you to Lunitas family and to all who have rescued an animal and given them the love they deserve.

Correct set of action would have been to send her in eternal sleep. I live in country where no-one would think about a wheel chair to an animal. If my cat would suddenly loose use of his hind legs, I would allow vet to put him in sleep. And I love him but don't want him to suffer as paralyzed.

Unlike some of the comments here being a person who has experienced extreme poverty and seen it. I don't think at all the old owners or owner was a bad person for what they did. They were clearly taking good care of that dog up to that point it did not look dirty, it wasn't starving, it even had a diaper on along with a pack of diapers beside it, and a note with the dogs information. I feel that it is a very sad story behind the owner and why they left their dog they clearly cared for it to go to such lengths and putting the dog in a public place where it could be seen.
They just couldn't take care of it anymore and I'm sure it pained them to leave it. Finacle troubles or maybe even something more serious or a combination of the 2. We know the dog is okay but I hope the owner is okay too.
It's good to hear that you managed to crawl your way out of the poverty you had to go through. I have never been poor myself but with some logical thinking anyone can see, she wasn't put there randomly. You wouldn't go to such lengths if you didn't want the best for your dog. The fact she was put in a place where a lot of people come means they wanted them to find her.

Also not every country has shelters or very closeby ones. It's also a bit ignorant to think everyone has a phone by now either. Also I do remember that at the start of the video they found her in a street where many people came. So she was put in a public place so people could find her. I'm just saying that since we don't know the whole picture, we shouldn't judge too easily either.
If they didn't want her to be found, they wouldn't have given her diapers nor tied a wheelchair to her, nor put her on the place she was found. Why do all that nonsense if you're just gonna abandon her anyway.

If the owner is as bad as the commenters potray them, you'll never see that dog in sweater, diapers, a wheelchair and a note. They'll just dump them somewhere no human could found them.

Omg I don't know who was worse the first family that abandoned her or the second family in the US that got her hopes up pay for her expensive ass shipping on the airplane that are around $800-1,000 and then they just like naaa we are not gonna take care of her, when she had a family and people that cared for her in Argentina also made the people spent so much money for NOTHING! And then she got an infection afterwards -_-! Im glad the third family took care of her and treat her like a queen! RIP Lunita and you will be always be remembered!

It has a ring of narcissism to it... and it feels a bit like these youtube families who adopt a special needs child and then “give them back” after exploiting them and seeming to use them as a prop to make them look like good people. It seems sociopathic. 😭😭😭This poor little Angel. That thumbnail photo broke my heart and I clicked on it hoping for a happy ending. 😭😭😭
People need to stop importing needy animals for a hobby. Shelters are filled to the max with animals in misery and these idiots think it's a good idea to get more. They only do it so they can pat themselves on the back and make these poor animals endlessly pose for social media clips to make sure that people know how virtuous they are.
To the people who rescued her and other animals - full marks, you people are the best! To the family who took her in and gave her that joyful final time - you restore my faith! Your other dogs looked like great pals!

Yes, this shows how important pet assisted devices are like a quality wheelchair. They can often times lead beautiful, fulfilling lives with a little extra help.
She was such a beautiful and amazing creature. I hope she’s playing with all the other dogs in dog heaven while she waits for her family to find her again. Rest In Peace Lunita, you were one of the best dogs in the world.

Nothing can make up for the pain she must have felt all those years, but I'm happy she felt loved even for a short time. I'm very happy that so many people helped her to find a good home.

Me too...tripod...one front leg amputated and weak back legs from back surgery. Rescued him in 2016. He is also incontinent and has no control over when he has to poo, which usually ends up being at least once in the middle of the night while sleeping in his bed next to me. It’s hard and demanding and it does not help he is also a Velcro dog, but it’s worth it and I am reminded of that whenever I see stories like this...that at least I could help one special needs dog in my life. I am a better person for it. Love to you special need dog parents ❤️

Same here. That little being endured so much hardship, abuse & pain. So glad she found love & was able to lay in the sun & roll in the grass, like every dog should. A story about the worst people in society and the best people. 💔🤍
Stories like this makes me want to love my dogs even more and is strengthening my resolve in giving them the best i can.
As a dog owner of only 2 years, it’s not that easy sometimes. When they bark nonstop when im busy with something, it drives me crazy and stories like this makes me realize how lucky my dogs are. If i was like Lunita’s previous owner I could’ve done something terrible to these dogs. Just unthinkable. I bet Lunita was a loving dog too even before she was abandoned but her owners got tired of her and cant take the trouble of keeping her, which is sad.
I am literally crying and of anger and heartbreak😭 no living creature should be left like that. Our world sure is cruel:(

My son has a dog whose hind legs just became paralyzed too. It’s a lot of work to care for him, but no way we could just cast him aside cuz we love him so much. People are just so cruel. Thx&see ya😁

God bless you. I just adopted a dog cause these people were going to put her down. Why??? Cause she is old. She is 12 years old. And is one of the most loving dog. She is great with my grandkids and my cats. So she will live the rest of her life knowing she is loved and wanted. What is wrong with people today. Put a dog down just because she is old. I will never forgive this woman. I say let’s put her down when she hits 50. It’s ok I ended up with the best dog ever.
That was heartbreaking but I'm relieved that she was given all the love she could handle and wasn't alone when it was time. Dogs are life.

I don't judge that because perhaps they ran out of money to take care of the dog or no longer had the strength. Although the way it was abandoned speaks a lot.

No, we don’t know the humans’ story-maybe they were in desperate need of financial or medical (psychiatric) help themselves-but they could at least have left her by an animal shelter, vet’s office or somewhere other than a desolate alley. It’s difficult to forgive these people, but the ones who rescued, rehabilitated and rehomed Lunita show us that there are truly good souls out there. 🐾❤️R.I.P. Even with her terrible past w humans, she's still so forgiving. It's clear that she doesn't care what's going on around her, she's just happy to be there & be apart of it. How could've many ppl adopted & harmed a this sweet baby? 😢
I don´t see her past as terrible. Her previous owners bought her a wheelchair and diapers, they spent money on her when the easy way for someone who doesn´t cares is to put her down. Maybe they didn´t had enough money for vet (the wheelchair was broken) and were forced to leave her hoping that someone could take care of her.

@@NMW80 the first one was unfortunate cuz they still loved lunita but couldnt keep her (altho it was wrong that they didnt drop her off to an animal shelter) but the second home was far in the wrong here, 3 illnesses and almost starved to death. Its like they were purposely trying to kill lunita.

People seem focused on her struggles, but at every turn, Lunita was more blessed and regarded than many other animals and humans. If she had a wheelchair, diapers, a chain securing her and a note, someone loved her and wanted the best for her, but they couldn't afford to keep her. Taking on a human or animal with special needs takes an open heart, but the time and the financial resources to provide the needed care. The first adopted family didn't just abandon her, they let someone know they were struggling. Thank God, she spent her last months in loving care and a joyful environment. This is a very blessed little girl.
Why can’t we have this kinda compassion for our fellow man? The world would be an absolutely wonderful place if we would love each other. Can you imagine a world without hate??
It's not going not happen on any grand scale. We are steeped in sin and have abandoned God and his ways. But everyone who continues to do evil and does not repent and turn to God for forgiveness will answer for that eventually.

She looks exactly like my little pup-brother who died when he was 13 many years ago. When I close my eyes, I could hear him talking to me, telling me how he is running freely in heaven. My dad dreamed of him having wings and flying in heaven taking care of others, and my dad doesn't even believe in heaven. I know my brother will take good care of Lunita. Jesus, I can't stop crying now...

Sometimes, I am so ashamed of and disappointed in my own species. Then, ethical, caring people who actually have true humanity come along and remind me of the good there still can be in my fellow human beings. It's still hard sometimes, though. Thank you for making the last part of this sweet girl's life the best part. She deserved that.
YES, we need more people like these who care. Just plain care that is why I watch animal rescue to watch the love, patience and care so many give to selflessly.
