I went through nearly nothing that NBA Youngboy went through in his life thus far. However, the connection he was able to draw from himself to me is the fact that he is able to get someone like myself who can’t relate to his struggles to hold a mirror up to themselves and reflect on my own struggles and reality and mental state all the while requiring humbleness from that test. That’s a real test cause my mind plays tricks on me a lot and tells me my life is hard etc but it doesn’t compare to the life and experiences that other have had such as NBA Youngboy. That’s the connection he draws with fans who can’t relate and that’s admirable because we all need to humble and realize our reality to be greater than yesterday.
He chose that life for himself. No one should relate to him cause no one should be doing what he and all these gang affiliated rappers are doing. Try to tell the victims or their families that he still relates to the people that listen to his music. I don’t think they’d feel the same way.
