  • I am restringing ibanez j.custom rg8570z. Restringing the ibanez edge zero bridge is easy. I am restringing my ibanez j.custom rg8570z with the ernie ball super slinky strings. You´ll get some tips for restringing and polishing the neck.
    When you are restringing ibanez j.custom rg8570z you don´t need to block the edge tremolo because you have access to the nuts all the time.
    The ibanez j.custom rg8570z-cra is my main guitar and I love to restring it.
    Tuning the edge zero bridge is not a big deal!

    Most people talk bad about the zps system but I see them ending buying tremmory systems and sure claws and installing to their guitars. Floyd rose locking systems are really amazing once you get the hang of setting up the guitar yourself (which any instrument user should be able to do). Ibanez literally brings those features out from the factory. My only concern is the wizard neck is a bit too thin to my taste. Great video 👍

    Excellent stuff here, man. I don't get the fear of trems systes like this, I assume it's just the lack of experience/turorials. I've had two Ibanez (and S series amd an RG) with the Edge Zero system, it's now my favourite trem system, and I find it super reliable.

    I dont understand. When i do your technique on my ibanez SHRG1Z, it stays in tune but the trem is not flat when not in use. It is slightly angled. I feel like i should put something underneath like on a floyd rose while restringing, to keep everithing flat. Or am i doing it wrong? Please help me lord lol

    • @austrianpickingpower
      @austrianpickingpower  2 года назад

      Wow that´s an amazing guitar - congrats for owning that limited edition...got very famous since Bernth played it.
      It is normal that the bridge an leans backwards when you cut off the strings if you mean that...Another reason can be that the new strings have a different tension. If it is not perfectly balanced after restringing you´ll just need to tighten or loosen the wheel on the backside of the body...if there is no wheel you´ll need to adjust the springs. I have 2 more videos on my channel about restringing and downtuning. Maybe they will help. Since I never saw the SHRG1Z with the ZR system in real it is hard to answer your question.
      Anyway I hope you can solve your problem. If not - let me know more details :)

I looked up that if it's done right and the glues strong enough it can work. I found a burera v55 in the trash that works perfectly. I was so pumped I wanted to play somthing on it even though I can't play. I didn't wanna mess with his working guitars to much testing it out. So i firgued I couldn't harm that one anymore then what has already been done. Plus is was caked in dust and a little rusty it's crazy considering it never even got played just sat there. Anyway I took my chances after cleaning it up and yeah now I'm here. The head seems strong to me but it could be part of the issue. Maybe the screw in the neck idk. I only know what I try to look up and try on here. Putting the springs in the /|\ pattern and starting with the bridge all the way low and going slowly almost worked but still no. Also I know nothing about the string block positioning or how that works. It's alot to take on. I thought if the head held it wouldn't be to bad. I was very wrong.

      The great thing of Ibanez is, that the entry level also uses similar bridges and hardware. The quality is always good and you can use this as a guide as well. Keep on shredding!

    My J custom is the best guitar I've ever played. I don't really ever have problems going out of tune even when I bend the hell out of it.

    I think the people who struggle with FR style bridges either have one of two problems going on. 1. they have a part that is defective. 2. they eat lead paint chips.

      That´s what you´ll need to do with bridges like these....it´s just a ball end - nothing special
