I remember in 5th grade, i had bad grades so i was excluded from a lot of trips, one time i had lice and i didnt wanna miss the trip, so i went to school anyways and on that day the told me that i actually wouldnt be joining due to my grades. So instead i told the teacher i had lice and when the nurse checked me she told my teacher i didnt have any. i LITERALLY lice, had like went to the doctor and everything, my scalp was itchy all day. Needless to say that was one of the worse days of 5th grade, had me saying the worst things in the daily journal 😭😭. Now that i think of it thats a terrible way to "punish" your child students, class trips are one of the few things that students can really enjoy and can seriously boost their mental and social morale. Kids already go through enough these days, teachers dont stop to consider what the student could possibly be going through
I remember when I didn't go on field trips to a roller rink or whatever me and a homie would watch anime or read manga online or something

Teachers can be REALLY mean yeah. I remember back in elementary school one of my friends had been absent for about a week due to a family tragedy. Every day the teacher had some snarky comment about him and how he didn't care about his education. Eventually I got fed up with it and told her what he was going through and her response can be summarized as "Oh I know but that's NO EXCUSE TO MISS MY CLASS!!!". I've disliked many teachers but there are very few I can say I truly hated. That one is one of the few who fits the bill.

I don't know what it is that makes some educators think their class is god's gift to earth and you missing it is like original sin. It's also always the ones that aren't even that good at their job. I'm here thinking, I was a Sgt in the middle east and I had a soldier that was having family issues. Me and my commander were cool with them dipping early and getting help even though we were already short staffed. This was in a deployed environment where the stress and danger are actually real, and being down a soldier made the rest of our jobs that much harder. WTF does it bother you if some random student misses a class they are paying for???

@@thespectator5259 I'm also currently in college. I have this Spanish professor who will punish you for missing a day by not allowing you to make up whatever you missed that day. This includes tests and projects that significantly impact your grade. One day a couple weeks ago I had to force myself to go to class, even despite feeling very sick, because there was a unit exam that day and if I missed that then I may as well kiss passing the class goodbye.
What's weird is that generally she's really not a mean professor or person but man that is an absolutely horrible policy to have.

On god, my worst memory of all time with this was in 6th grade, my class was getting called up for awards and after all the awards were called i was the only kid left sitting while my entire class was on stage. I remember my eyes watering up but i was trying to play it off. luckily you couldnt tell easily bc i had such a long bowl cut that thick strands of hairs were always covering my eyes lol. It took them a second to realize this and out of pity they called me up to for an award of "good attendence" which i knew was bs 😭lmao.

Damn I forgot times like this in school. Luckily I had a P.E. coach that would just get me and let me play in the gym or outside til my class got back. All I would hear is a bunch of complaints when they got back talking about how hot and stank the bus was or how boring the trip was. One time the class had to write an essay for embarrassing the teacher while on the trip. For us that didn't go didn't have to do anything but chill.
