I love how it really feels like they’re capitalising off they’re own advantages. Sonic lands more hits due to his slightly higher speed, while Shadow’s feel more devastating. Perfect example is Dark sonic landing that double combo, while Shadow essentially compensates with a flying kick with a huge wind up and the ground slam, which feels like the most impactful hit before the super forms
And don't forget i do like this sprite of sonic and shadow much better than death battle sprite

Trong Tran there was one done by someone that included both dark sonic and shadow. It was very good although, I’m not sure how well it holds up to today’s standards. Most of the best sprite fights came from Mario bros z tho but I’m sure if you dig around you’ll find some good ones.

Damn, it really is rare to see Dark Sonic. I remember only seeing him in old sprite animations from a decade ago, though. Still so cool.
I don't know much about Sonic lore (I've only beat Sonic Mania) but I gotta say, Dark Sonic looks more 'shadow' than Shadow.
Macesaru Ionel Dark Sonic is pretty much a negative form of super sonic, the pitch black version, which is supposedly faster and stronger w/o the other abilities. He uses it at 1:05

i mean, this is a collab. aka done by multiple talented people. SMBZ was animated entirely by one guy. So i'd say Alvin/Mark (creator/animator of SMBZ) still wins on this cause its a big disadvantage for him.

i liked how the main focus was the combos, fast attacks, and counters, instead of all ust being one long combo followed by a big blast attack
with all that, this is probably the best and probably the most accurate of what it should be a sonic vs shadow battle

Also in Sonic '06 Shadow has this fighting style where he does combo strings on enemies with homing attack. And when he fully charges -kaio-ken- Dark Shadow, he actually instant transmissions to enemies to do combos on them. Again it's not as cool, but it's definitely _possible_ Sonic Team could do this.

A lot of sonic haters don't seem to realise how powerful Sonic and co. really are in the Archie comics. In the comics, Knuckles became a god of creation at one point, and Sonic's taken countless beatings from suppodedly planet-busting opponents without even turning Super Sonic.
He's pretty strong in the games as well to be fair.
Bla bla, I hate those guys who think Archie Sonic is like the only strong Sonic incarnation. They clearly lack knowledge on the main canon. Game Sonic has faced planet busting opponent's in base as well and multiversal beings in Super form

Been a really long time since I've seen a Sonic Sprite battle, especially one this good. What program do you use? I'd really like to try to animate a Sprite battle.

This is the best Sonic vs Shadow animated fight, in my opinion, the animation is fluid, the sound effects and the power effects, and the sprite swap, this is awesome.

In all my years of watching so many sprite animations sonic related, this to me is by far the best one I've seen to date. the music, the various animation styles, and the overall feeling of it was exciting to me. great work to all who worked on this and Looking forward to part 2.
