Venom /Layton lets not forget that Eddie Redmayne might have been Kylo Ren, had he used a different voice in his audition. But I do believe that Driver is the best choice.
For those who don’t know, Luke showed Ben those dice at the end of TLJ because Ben used to play with them when he was a kid on the Falcon, and dream about the day he would become as good of a pilot as his father... with that knowledge in mind, it makes the scene of him holding the dice so sad...

I just hope Kylo survives the trilogy. He's the only character worth the investment. The only one with true development and depth. The antagonist is always the most interesting.
TBH to me he's more of a great character, who happens to be the antagonist, rather than a great villain. Nonetheless he is my favorite aspect of the sequels.

Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is my favorite character of the sequel. He is full of conflict and i dunno, i think he is the saddest part of this new trilogy. I’m gonna cry if they kill him in episode ix.
The character of Kylo ren is beautiful and exactly what Star Wars needed to stay relevant. The hate will pass. Ben’s story will affect the future of Star Wars forever. I suspect Rey will have a large part in his story as much as he will in and already has in hers.

He will stress certain words or leave pauses or yell two words in a sentence..e.g. when he utters the line ..'no no NO! You're still... HOLDING ON!.. (then lower pitch) Let go."Whether he was directed to say the line that way or he came up with it on his own.. it was damn good.

@@elgato9445 I hope you got to watch the Abraham H. Parnassus skit on SNL. He does exactly what you were outlining in terms of modulating his voice... I've never seen an actor who does this so well in such a short space of time. Yelling and spitting like a mad dog one second, completely calm and gentle voice the next. If you see the skit, you can see this especially at the end.
What sadeens me the most is that when he turns back to the light and becomes Ben Solo once again. He wont get to see either his mother or father just one last time. He'll come back but they'll all be gone.
Back again after The Rise of Skywalker. It makes this tribute much sadder and tragic. Man, I loved his character so much. Adam Driver really did amazing by adding so much depth to Kylo Ren/Ben Solo. He was the best part of the trilogy. Hands down. Rey has her moments, but Kylo, for me, steals the show. Especially when Adam brings Ben Solo to life. Ben Solo deserved better.

Adam portrays Ben/Kylo very well! I would say his performance as the antagonist is better played than Hayden being Anakin/Vader. Hayden had the good wining boy but Adam has the natural behavior for acting knowing he was a Marine beforehand.
It's a testimony to Driver's acting that at the end of the film I felt more sympathy for the broken Kylo and less for the supposedly heroic Rey. In fact, post the breaking of the sabre scene for a time I actually hated her!
Adam Driver is just an amazing character all around, the intensity of his acting shows that he was born to be Kylo Ren. Watching his other films shows that those characters have become an extension of himself.
what if Kylo Ren is the protagonist of the sequel trilogy but we only figure that out in episode 9. What if Rey does fall to the dark side and only Kylo can stop her. That would make the sequel trilogy the most unique star wars trilogy by far.
If that does happen, then we'll be seeing a very different star wars movie that we've never seen before. If Rey does fall to the dark side and Kylo pulls to the light and saves her or can't save her. It would be an emotional scene in all of star wars. Watching Kylo Ren in the 2 movies that came out, he's a very interesting character and some people might say he's an underated character in some people's eyes. Hope that doesn't happen if Rey falls to the dark side and Kylo has to save her. It would be a really great and emotional scene for everyone. #savekyloren
After seeing The Rise Of Skywalker & watching Adam Drivers talented acting in other films as well, I’ve got a new appreciation for him as an actor. Kylo is my favorite character in the new trilogy hands down.
The only character that i felt i could relate to in a Deep level. Only character in Star Wars that was portrayed near perfection, especially in The Last Jedi. A character in Star Wars that you could hate, love, relate to, or really wish the Best for him, even though hes a villain.

AWL Studios I see what you mean, but I really liked the “Kylo and Rey are 2 halves of the same protagonist” deal they had going. And I’m not sure I would’ve been happy with him remaining a villain for all the last movie, cause then I’m not really sure what would’ve happened in it, either they’d have to kill him off, or end the saga with the villains winning, neither of which would be a great option. I just don’t think they handled his redemption arc very well in TROS which is sad cause they set it up well in TLJ. I agree no Hero’s effort to redeem him should work, it’s got to come from himself.
There was a leaked script where he was even more of a villain than they made him in the final movie. I feel like Rey's rejection to stand with him moved him even more to the dark side so that's my take on why he pushed his own development back 2 steps. He felt betrayed yet again by someone that was trying to know him and get close to him, left behind (in his eyes) by someone he was beginning to care for. For me, his reversal made sense. What he didn't understand is that she was still trying to help him, like how Padme was trying to beg Anakin not to go down the wrong path. If only he had understood that his vision of the two of them standing together was of them standing together against the dark side. That's what I love about all the conflict. He still turned back once he understood and even in the leaked script, they has him redeem himself, except that it felt more forced versus the actual movie.
Inu yeah I know about the leaked script and totally agree that Rey rejecting him is what pushed him back to the dark side at the end of the Last Jedi, but my complaint was more that it didn’t address that at all in TROS, he just, went back to his force awakens character from before he killed Han, back when he was relatively calm and stable, and then immediately jumped to fully redeemed in one scene, and then didn’t speak another line of dialogue for the whole rest of the movie after his redemption.

In the first moments of this video (in particular until 0:50) I felt this character like never before: The way Ben looks at the mask of Kylo Ren like he is looking to himself but to another person a the same time; The way he put off the mask as he is taking off a big weight (the action and the reputation that Kylo must maintain); The way as he is some like sad for himself but unproud at the same time and so punish himself again and again; The anger to his father who probably had seen him as just a boy who took the wrong path but instead Ben Realise that his father cares about him just in the last moment, he love him but haven't been able to show him, not until the last moment when was too late, not in the way Ben needed during his childhood probably... I don't know: I found this character incredibly: The main theme of the double is respresented SO WELL by director choices and Adm Driver too like never before in my opinion. I fell him DEEP inside, as two part of me: One that would like to take what it wants, no matter what. The one that want to be recognized by the others, remember as unique (in is case the One who finished what Vader started) and is disponible to sacrifice everything for this, even the love of the people who still cares. One that just want to be good, that try to stay good, even when others don't act gentle. Trying to have empathy but never by forget its desires. The one who want to give chance to love, espose itself for been fragile but in this way also be able to felt passion, to have desire to laught, to feel gathering to cry in front of people and admit its insicurities and ask help if it needs. HE IS ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTER EVER EVER MADE FOR ME I don't know; maybe the music, maybe the scenes you had choosen to take, maybe the lines or maybe all of it MOVED me. Also I love the line: "I know everything I need to know about you!" "You do? Ah, ah...You do" For me one of the best on this saga...How many times we judge basing ont the surface? he was one of the best character that this trilogy leave, i was very confused, Why couldn't had had more scenes and history? i dont anderstand. Adam Driver was great in this role.
What if he had joined the dark side to take the darkside down. In a way that is finishing what his grandfather started. Darth Vader took Palpatine down to save Luke so what if that's what Ben has been trying to do the whole time, taking the dark side down from the inside. And its harder than what he thinks so thats why he asked Rey to join him. She just didnt understood because he didnt make it clear that that was ehat he wanted.
This made me cry. I think killing him off was a horrible move. I wish he got the ending he deserved. Adam portrayed the character so so well. Such a shame 😞😢

Inu yeah I know about the leaked script and totally agree that Rey rejecting him is what pushed him back to the dark side at the end of the Last Jedi, but my complaint was more that it didn’t address that at all in TROS, he just, went back to his force awakens character from before he killed Han, back when he was relatively calm and stable, and then immediately jumped to fully redeemed in one scene, and then didn’t speak another line of dialogue for the whole rest of the movie after his redemption.
He was the only cool thing about this trilogy.

Вместо катарсиса, который делает человека лучше, глубже, есть только обида и непонимание, почему нет? Если копнуть в персонажа, то он настолько искренний и самый настоящий из всех, с постоянными голосами в голове, которые склоняли его на темную сторону, с непутевыми родителями, с огромной силой, с которой он не знал, что делать, а его учитель испугался этой мощи и хотел убить его. Человек, который не доверял никому, был абсолютно одинок и несчастен, получил надежду на спасение - и на тебе, Дисней просто называет это искуплением! У меня нет слов на этот маразм. Бен в последний момент отказался от темной стороны, он взял в руки световой меч джедая, вы убили джедая! Не могу простить.
А Диснею мой байкот. Ни на один фильм и мультфильм больше не пойду! Вы мне так в душу наплевали этим бездарным финалом, что я вас просто ненавижу!

In the first moments of this video (in particular until 0:50)
I felt this character like never before:
The way Ben looks at the mask of Kylo Ren like he is looking to himself but to another person a the same time;
The way he put off the mask as he is taking off a big weight (the action and the reputation that Kylo must maintain);
The way as he is some like sad for himself but unproud at the same time and so punish himself again and again;
The anger to his father who probably had seen him as just a boy who took the wrong path but instead Ben Realise that his father cares about him just in the last moment, he love him but haven't been able to show him, not until the last moment when was too late, not in the way Ben needed during his childhood probably...
I don't know: I found this character incredibly:
The main theme of the double is respresented SO WELL by director choices and Adm Driver too like never before in my opinion.
I fell him DEEP inside, as two part of me:
One that would like to take what it wants, no matter what. The one that want to be recognized by the others, remember as unique (in is case the One who finished what Vader started) and is disponible to sacrifice everything for this, even the love of the people who still cares.
One that just want to be good, that try to stay good, even when others don't act gentle. Trying to have empathy but never by forget its desires. The one who want to give chance to love, espose itself for been fragile but in this way also be able to felt passion, to have desire to laught, to feel gathering to cry in front of people and admit its insicurities and ask help if it needs.
HE IS ONE OF THE BEST CHARACTER EVER EVER MADE FOR ME
I don't know; maybe the music, maybe the scenes you had choosen to take, maybe the lines or maybe all of it MOVED me.
Also I love the line:

What if he had joined the dark side to take the darkside down. In a way that is finishing what his grandfather started. Darth Vader took Palpatine down to save Luke so what if that's what Ben has been trying to do the whole time, taking the dark side down from the inside. And its harder than what he thinks so thats why he asked Rey to join him. She just didnt understood because he didnt make it clear that that was ehat he wanted.
